I want to get a full screen screen shot of all the different OSes including NT, 2000 and XP the problem I have is print scrn button does not work until your officially logged in. I want to send screen shots to some of my users who cannot follow directions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just installed a linksys wireless router onto my desktop computer to add a wireless laptop and for some reason, when the User Logon screen comes up. The hand cursor never becomes a cursor for me to type in passowords to user accounts. I went into safe mode and then into control panel and deleted the passwords for each user acct and now I can get into the accounts but how can I add the passwords again and be able to type them in. We have 3 user accounts on this pc and would like to have them password protected.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI key ctrl/alt/and prtscn to cache screen shots. I can no longer save to Paint. The pencil icon is on first instead of the select. It will not show the paste button on the drop down menu only the select all.
I can use paint using my scanner but not screen shots which I use all the time.
I get all blacked out icons on my pc after it runs for around 4 hours. what is the possible reason? i have attached the screen shots

My friend gave me a Dell Latitude Laptop, Windows XP O/S to look at. It is a couple years old and was given to him by his old company which went out of business. He has not used it until recently and was unable to get into it due to a network password screen. I accessed it with ''admin'' as a username and no password. I cannot change the "users" information or disable the password because I have no "administrator" rights and don't kow the password for the administrator. I tried the default blank password trick. Once in, I noticed network software installed and I cannot access the internet with my ethernet cable. Basically, I am just trying to get it where he can use it around the house. Is there a way to disable the company installed networks, or make them go away completely? I have no XP O/S on disk, so I am trying to avoid a complete format. If I can just get the machine back to the basic XP O/S it would be good to go.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer starts up normally.It always just autologs on since I'm the only one using my windows xp computer. However, before anything can be displayed it immediatley logs off to the logon screen. I click my username and start the login process (i have no password and before even switching to my wallpaper or anything it says stuff like logging out and saving your settings.
I tried booting in safe mode too and the same infinite logon loop occured to, even with the default administrator account. The last thing I remember doing before this happened is I was playing City of Heroes when it crashed forcing me to restart my computer. This happens occasionally in certain programs but I've never had anything like this happen before. I tried unplugging my keyboard, mouse, usb devices, ethernet cable, no luck. Intel Pentium 4 1.7 ghz Geforce 5600 FX 256 mb windows xp home service pack 1, in case any of that matters

I have a problem with my Windows XP Pro Fast switching between user accounts.
When I first installed XP I had disabled fast user switching, but I have now added another user profile and went into to services and enabled fast user switching. It works about 50 % of the time, however sometime when I hit Window Key+L it brings up the logon screen, when I click on an account it asks for a password, however I have no passwords on the accounts, and nothing i type in works, and I have to restart the computer. Even when I set a password and it locks me out that password will not work and I have to restart
I tried turning off my computer password, since I am the only one who uses it. But I did something wrong....Windows XP logs on as Administrator, and says I can't log on due to user restrictions. I was able to log on using the name I gave the computer, but how do I disable having to use any passwords, and fix the logon problem with Administrator?

I don't know what happened exactly but for whatever reason, the computer simply restarted itself for no apparent reason and then it wouldn't boot the operating system correctly so I tried to get into safe mode to try and diagnose the problem. I checked the bios to see if any error messages or a log had been recorded but found nothing. When I finally got it to go into safe mode, My user name was gone and it just said "Guest" and wanted a password to log on. When you use any Windows plaform (XP, 2000, NT4, 98...) to logon to domain,the logon dialog box always shows the username and domain (last successfulattempt).
Is it possible to clear the username (so username and password field are empty when next logon)?

I have never had a password set up on my computer (XP home edition) and one day the computer requested a username and password at logon (never had a logon screen pop up). I was in the middle of loading mcafee, which seemed to be the beginning of the problem. I do not know how to get around this. I have tried safemode, but the computer still asks for a username and password for safe mode.

for example say i setting up a business computer that 20 people will use but i don't want 20 accounts i only want one and each people will have a different password and based upon the password they enter i will be able to tell who downloaded what and installed what by knowing who logged on. thanks for the help
two new computers a router and networked the home. I have the host computer and my children are each on wireless as clients. Both children can access internet, but only 1 can access printer. I actually figured out the problem that's huge as I'm a network idiot. My son's computer (can't use printer) is using my old computer with MY name on it. I am on the new computer with MY name on it. So when he tries to access the printer it doesn't know where to go. I have windows xp HOME and from what I see I can't change the name on his computer the folder immediately under documents & settings). I followed instructions to copy from one folder to another (ie, Mine to his) using a 3rd administrator account. I could copy any account but mine.
