Getting Menus, Dialogs And Files In Different Language?
Dec 17, 2006
I've been experiencing some language problems recently. Half of my menus, dialogs, and help files are in a different language. I went to Microsoft.com to try and fix my problem, and I think I found an answer here, However, I found that my Regional and Language options are missing that option.
'Here' (http://img239.echo.cx/img239/8277/desktop5bo.jpg) is a picture of my current desktop, is there any way i can make the folders at the bottom of the pop up menu on the right expand? At the moment all i can make them do is open up the folder, expanding menus like the ones found in the start menu would be great if possible.
I want to get a full screen screen shot of all the different OSes including NT, 2000 and XP the problem I have is print scrn button does not work until your officially logged in. I want to send screen shots to some of my users who cannot follow directions.
When downloading files, any type files, just using IE's dialog, or using a Download Manager's dialog, Explorer's Save or Save As panels *will not* allow me to create a new folder on XPpro [current user's] desktop! I am allowed to save the file to the desktop, and of course, can then create a new folder directly on the desktop with the context menu, and etc. It will allow me to create a new folder anywhere else and save any type file being downloaded into that new folder. It simply will not allow me to create a new folder on the Desktop.Could this be some kind of registry alteration?
I can't get the drop down menus to open up. When I click on folder icons, nothing happens. I've run Spybot, my virus program and System Mechanic. Nothing.
light on my recent weird Windows behavior. I'm not getting my sub menus when I rollover my program folders (Start menu>all programs>desired folder). I can see a faint outline of the pop-up that should be there, but nothing is showing.
i am using a intel m/b model d845gl va with the os winxp pro service pack 2 can anyone help me with the insruction to bring the bios menu up i am not going to touch it i just would like to no if any technically minded person needed to.tia.col.
I am using Windows XP Pro (OEM). How do I CLEAR the drop down completion menus? Some of mine have 4 or 5 options with most being old email addresses or errors. I want to clear them all and start from scratch.
I recently started having problems with my laptop running XP. The drop down menus in all applications as well as the pop up menu from START do not stay up. They flash onto the screen, but dissappear.I don't know too much.I restored the system to a known good operating point, but that did not help.I've defragmented the hard drive.
I've suddenly started getting bits of menus left behind on my screen - for example the 'Open Outlook' choice from clicking the Outlook icon on the toolbar stays as white text on a blue background.AVG and antimalware scans show no infection and the onboard video driver is up to date.A hijack this log looks OK.A reboot or changing the video settings gets rid of it but otherwise it hangs around annoyingly.I've searched everywhere but found nothing helpful. The computer is a DELL Vostro 200 running XP with all the service packs installed.
I have a problem with these context menus after some applications, like Winamp, created chaos in the menu for file folder and folder. I cannot double-click on folders anymore because the default task has been changed as well. For some reason I cannot access to edit most entries in the menu. I would like to change the menu default back to double-click and eliminate several items in the menu.
When ever I open up one of the menus in any program (file, edit, tools, windows etc.) it doesn't show me anything unless I run my cursor down over them all. This all so happens with all the sub menus
suddenly this week, all the drop down menus on my computer (tools, windows, etc.), the menu from my "start" button, and even all the drop downs on my photoshop program are SOOOOOO incredibly sensitive! practically just going near them activates the menus, and even if my mouse goes over something at lightning speed, it STILL activates that menu and i have to click somewhere else to get it to disappear
when i click "search" (i'm going to my posts) the drop down menu is "clear" words are black but menu drops down over the other words on the page and it's difficult to see what is on the menu. is there someway i could have the menu background a color
no matter what program when I go to file open and try to browse for a file, the stupid drop-down menu closes within a second whether i click anything or not. How do I fix this without reinstalling windows.
I need some major help here... basically one time i shut down my computer and tried to turn it back on, and though it was working fine before, it wouldn't load Windows. The error message said that the System32 folder was corrupted. However, it luckily started working after I put in a Windows xp cd and "repaired" from the cd. after that everything seemed to be working fine except one thing
i am running xp prof sp2 and am trying to enlarge the icons that are to the left of text in a drop down menu i.e. the favorites menu in internet explorer. i can enlarge the text on the menu going through the display properties, but am not having any luck getting the actual icons to enlarge.
This is my first picture is my right-click menu. It is generated transparent and I have to run my cursor over each option manually before it is visable.ttp://idproject.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/glitch2.JPG
This second picture is my drop-down menu from MS Paint after I saved the first screenshot. Yet again, it's generated transparent, and I have to go through each option highlighting one-by-one to see them.
all my drop down menus from address bar to simple options in settings and such all keep resetting Rapidly, as if I was clicking on it non stop, what this is doing is hindering me from being able to do anything on that page that is displayed because it keeps pulling down the topmost drop down menu
I've searched everywhere I can but maybe I'm searching the wrong name but here is the problem. When in certain programs, particularly Photoshop but there are others, when I click on the Open selection then try and use a drop down menu to navigate to the correct location of the file I'm looking for, the menu just flashes then goes away.
Running Windows Explorer on XP Home Edition. Since a few days ago, whenever I right click on a device, folder, or file, or whenever I click on the File or Edit menu when one of these entities is selected, the computer freezes, and I need to press Ctrl-Alt-Del and close the Explorer in order to continue. This problem does not occur within the open-file or save-file dialog of other applications, or even in Windows Explorer when browsing the "My Documents" section.
This is more an annoyance than a problem. The File, Edit etc. menus in My Computer, Internet Explorer etc have recently changed from the grey they were before to having a white border and grey area where the menu text is. On hover, they no longer turn blue, and if they are opened, they have a grey border around the entire menu.
That's how my manager has been looking for the past week or so. The top menus and tabs never show up. Has anybody else seen this happen? If yes, is there a fix?
how come sometimes besides a format of a newly created partition windows has 2 menus for xp boot in boot.ini file why is this...not that its a huge problem...just curious
I am trying to find out why menus are not visible. For instance If I open my Start Menu and go to All Programs I can see all of those, but the program submenus are not visible, I see the shadowed outline and that is it. Also happens for the menus off the taskbar. Basically anything that is a submenu is not visible. The entire Start Menu is not visible in the classic view as well.
Over the weekend my system has picked something up. When I try clicking internet links, items in drop down menus, etc, I have to click maybe two to three times to get the system to act on the command. I have run every virus program I have, deleted my temp files, deleted my temp internet files and ran a defrag. The problem is still on going today.
I want to remove about 8 items from the right click context menu either in Explorer or while on the Desktop. I read an article that said all you had to do was edit the Registry by doing a search for ShellNew and remove the entire key if you didn't want any of them. I did this several times and did find all of them at least 5 times. But they are still there.
When I first installed XP the start programs menu would fly out to the side and have several columns all visible at once and somewhere along the line it got changed so it is a scrolling list now, which is a real pain when you have a long list. Does anyone know how to change it so it flys out to the side with multiple columns instead of the scrolling list?
When im running some programs, such as adobe after effects or painter or premiere or other programs, sometimes the screen flashes white, or I loose part of the display window - it becomes transparent. Contents of the menues may disappear partially. This is some kind of display problem. I know it not hardware becasue I have a dual boot of the same OS and this dosnt happen on the other partition. It sounds like a video card driver problem...but ive unistalled and re-installed the video driver and still problem persists.
