Dec 28, 2007Everest shows 3 unknown devices but device manager doesnt?my soundcard dissapeard today, i can still pick it up using "Unknown Devices" and EVEREST although when i try to run audigy 2 drivers, it`s telling me there are no supported devices in the system, anyone know how i can force the REAL device manager to see these devices?it seems only everest and unknown devices is picking up my soundcard, it also says AUDIGY from CREATIVE. it just is not appearing in device manager for some reason so i am unable to actually install it.

Boot Up Screen Doesnt Hang, But Doesnt Load
Aug 23, 2007My PC is running absolutely stable (7 hours of orthos). Just bought this EVGA motherboard and swapped it in place of an Asrock motherboard and got everything running, overclocked and stable.Before I got Windows XP running (previous installation from the asrock mobo), I encountered an issue and i isolated it down to one of the 200gb 7200.7 SATA HD's.IF this HD is plugged in when the PC boots, then the Windows XP Boot screen appears and hangs. NOTE: it DOES NOT freeze - the bar still moves, but there is no HD activity and the pc stays like this for hours on end. Note again - this is not a hang. the activity bar still moves from left to right, and it keeps doing this indefinitely it seems (with no HD activity from any drives). IF this HD is not plugged in, the PC boots in straight away. All drivers are tip top (nforce drivers, SATA drivers). However if I hot-plug this drive from within Windows, it works fine!. The PC just doesn't boot with the HD plugged in.

Oct 4, 2006Gaming, music/photo storage, internet surfing, music making, and video editing just to name a few. Basically, what im saying is my computer is my "lifeforce" . I generally would claim i am generally computer literate. But, I cant find a reason for this to happen. ANYWAY!I turned it on one day, having done nothing to presumably harm a computer, and it goes to the windows loading screen with the blue bar and stay there forever, seriously i timed it the other day, from 1-9 pm it was "loading".I scanned everything while running in "safe mode". no problems. I tried restoring it to an earlier date said it restored successfully, but still sat at loading screen forever.

Jul 7, 2010This has been an ongoing problem now for about a month. Every so often and usually when I'm playing a game, my computer will abruptly shut off. Because it seemed to happen while playing games, I assumed it was my EVGA GeForce 9800 card that was causing the shutdown. However, last night I was just mindlessly surfing and I had the same issue. When I tried to restart, it took a few times before it 'took' this has happend before in the past when the computer has abruptly crashed as for the GeForce, I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled.I've also checked to see if it's the fans, but they all seem to be working fine, no obstructions. Is it possible that with it being summer, the room might be getting too hot and in turn causing the computer to run hotter than usual? I don't keep the air on all the time in that room as it's a window unit and I'm conserving energy.

Jun 14, 2007Internet access through my browsers and online games seems to shut off for no apparent reason.It just started doing this a couple days ago.If I wait long enough, it'll sometimes come back again.If I reboot, it's back online again.Strangely, bittorrent seems to keep working without any problems.I can also ping websites by name.I'm having a really hard time troubleshooting my problem.I'm really not sure where to start looking.I've tried turning on and off the antivirus and firewalls. I've run virus and spyware scans. I tried using a different network card. It doesn't seem to be the router since the other computers in my house work fine.My computer dual boots with Vista and I don't seem to have a problem in Vista.It just happened again immediately after I posted this message in IE7.I could no longer connect to any websites.I closed the IE7 window and booted up Firefox, which worked fine.When I opened IE7 again, it was working again as well.All of this happened within 1 minute.Another example of strange behavior. Right now, Firefox is giving me 'Unable to connect' when I try to browse. But it's also in the middle of downloading a huge file without any problems.Bittorrent is working fine.
