i just bought a widescreen monitor. i use webshots desktop and the wallpaper comes from that program. but sdince the monitor is wiodescreen i get vertical bars in desktop. I try to correct it throw strecht,tile position, but nothing changes the batrs are there. is anyone knows a way to make photos from webshots full screen?

I also have been using a Dell 19" LCD (normal) monitor...using the analog connector rather than the digital one.When I hooked up the Samsung this afternoon, I got the desktop and installed the drivers because although the screen looked fine, I had a black 3" wide strip down the right hand side so the desktop wasn't full screen. I used the buttons on the monitor to make that adjustment and immediately everything 'stretched' to the right and the icons and fonts looked elongated.I have to tell you also that I normally use 1024x768 for my resolution. Using digital connector I remember it automatically went to the largest resolution available and everything was so tiny not only on the desktop but also on the net that I couldn't see anything. Digital would not let me readjust back down so I went back to the analog. The wide screen LCD is also using analog.

There were no widescreen options. It should choose the monitor's native resolution on its own if the monitor is an LCD.

View 8 Replies View Relatedtwo days ago i used my computer, i turned it off and took it back home from office. the next morning i tried to turn it on it flashed the blue screen and restarted. Now I am no computer expert so I don't know why this has happened all i can tell you is that it worked the night before i didn't download a thing and then it stopped.

I recently purchased a new computer and was not connected to theinternet when the product activation wizard popped up so I closed it.The next day, after establishing an internet connection I decided toactivate XP. I could not figure out how to open the wizard so I wentto the help area to try and figure out how to open it. (Thectivation icon was not in accessories/system tools). When I thentried to run the wizard the computer informed me that XP was alreadyactivated. Could this have happened on its own? I had not enteredny product ID data at all and had not been to any MS sites. I amcross posting this for wide dissemination and apologize if thisoffends anyone.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI added some new software to my Pc (Win XP system) and now I notice that when I use the Start - All Programs - and view my list of programs I have 3 x Wide Columns but I can't se the 3rd column fully as the first 2 are really wide pushing the 3rd nearly off the screen.
How to narrow this view list.I tried to 'drag' the walls of the colunm but that option is not available.

Error MEssage:Swebexec.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being generated. The webshots works after you click cancel. What the heck can I do to fix this and remove the error.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know very little about Webshots. I friend had it installed on a Windows HE SP1a system,and the desktop wallpaper used to download and change at certain intervals. She now has a new SP2 system. After Installing Webshots on the new system, each time a new wallpaper is automatically downloaded, because of the SP2 security, instead of the new wallpaper replacing the old, she gets a dialog box about the dangers of downloading files from the internet, and if she accepts the download, rather than the wallpaper being automatically replaced, she gets a Save As window. I have already looked at the Webshots web site, and there is nothing about security settings that should be changed for SP2 for a fluid change of desktop wallpaper upon the automatic download timed interval. Does anyone with SP2 use Webshots for their desktop wallpaper, and know which security settings should be changed to avoid the warning messages, and have a fluid change of the desktop wallpaper, without the save as box coming up?

View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I go to set a picture as the desktop background it stretches it to fit, fine... but if you dont want everyone looking wide you set it to centre but when I do that it zooms right in on the picture instead of displaying it in its original size on the screen.... why is this? is it because the picture from the camera is massive or is this an XP bug?

If I check it and say ok it starts to work, but after shuting down and restarting, it is always unchecked. All the other option buttons stay checked. I'm running Windows Xp Pro with update 2.

Last night, I tried to upload photos, but I was prompted to confirm my email address. Entered my address, but no confirmation received. Tried again tonight, still no luck. Opened a new account, used different email address, no confirmation.Unfortunately their help section has no info on this, and I don't want to pay them money to contact their support team if the free service doesn't seem to work.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a collection of pictures on my pc,tranferred on to hard drive from a digital camera.they cover sep-dec'06. i have put them all,individually, in a folder,having renamed them to a,b,c, --- etc,to get them to burn to cd-r in sequence. i use xp's 'burn to cd' facility.however,they still come out jumbled and not in sequence as desired. i believe there is a way of correctly renaming them for this purpose but i can not remember how. i seem to remember some article suggesting using 0000/0001/0002 numbering etc to achieve this.is this correct/ correct numbering sequence?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy daughter's eMachines PC has XP. She was moving some photos from one folder to another. Now they won't preview or open. The thumbnail images do not show up either.In Properties they do not say "Read Only" or "Hidden" and it will not let me alter anything. It will say "Error Applying Attributes"-"Access is denied".I asked her what happened and she said she was prompted if she wanted to move these "Read Only" files and she clicked "Yes" because she said it has asked her before on some.It lists the titles and the size of the files. The other photos in the folder show their previews and thumbnails, but these just show the generic JEPG icon.

View 10 Replies View RelatedAbout 2 weeks ago I went to open an attachment and it said i needed a different program to open this. Up pops a box with a dozen or so of my regular programs so I though I will try microsoft word. I now know that was the wrong thing to do as all my pictures on my computer (hundreds) if clicked on Microsoft word opens AND THEN EVERTHING COMES UP IN XO/ JIBBERISH.i THINK ITS CALLED SCRIPT.The only way I can get the picture to open in the right program which is Nero is to right click mouse and point to open .It then directly opens in Nero.Last night we uninstalled Microsoft word and Nero to see if that helped and it did not.Lastly if email is sent with attachment when it is open it also come up through Microsoft word in gibberish however the picture is in the bottom prevue pane.

I ran HP PC System Recovery, the non destructive version because some of my system files were missing. Problem solved on that, but now my photos are all gone. I looked at the hard drive space and I cannot remember what the exact amount was before, but it looks like I have about the same amount.
