Jun 7, 2006Using XP Home Edition. For awhile it has been popping up Windows-No Disk "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert disk into drive." When I cancel, it pops up again anything from 3-8 times. I keep it on all the time. The last two mornings I have found the computer shut down. When I boot it up, it said, "Windows has recovered from a serious error." After sign-in, still having popups No Disk. Have checked disk, defragged, and am doing a clean disk. Any ideas on what this is or how to get rid of the message?

I have tried doing FIXMBR and/or FIXBOOT, which will get me into Windows, but the next time I reboot or turn off/on my computer I get the same message and have to go through the same steps to make it work. I'm not really sure what is causing the error message, and I dont know what to try to get the computer to boot up properly.

If I exit Internet Explorer and open it again and avoid MSN MONEY the error message does not appear.

Feb 6, 2006my computer MB took a dump so I bought a new system. I figured I just boot the new system using my old hard drive. No dice. So I boot the new system using the hard drive and OS that came with it and installed my old drive as a slave. When I try to access the documents and settings folder on the old hard drive so I can pull over the favorites, documents, etc. to my new drive it says access denied. The username and password on my new system are the as on the old one. Any ideas on how to get access to that folder?

Now my audio does not work.I tried reinstalling drivers,but I'm not 100% sure I got the right ones.Under Sounds and Audio Deives everything is grayed out.In the device manager all the "Sound and VIdeo Game Controllers" appear to be OK....however under Other Devices all options have a yellow ? next to them. I think it has something to do with this....especially the Multimedia Audio Controller one.
