View 7 Repliesmy wife was trying to download pics from her memory card of her camera (sd card) to my computer so that she could burn the pics to a cd. My computer (Gateway GT5016H) has a slot to insert the memory card into the tower of the computer. She inserted the card, retrieved the pics and proceeded to burn them to a cd. When she was done, she shut down the computer.Now evertime i start the compuer i get an error message pop up "windows-no disk" "there is no disk in drive. Please insert disk into drive." I also must click cancel multiple time to get rid of the error message.

When I hit the OK button, nothing happens (the system mostly runs fine, except for some random shut down issues (after about, say, 100 hours or so of being on). I am on Windows XP Home edition. Running Adaware, Spyware Doctor, and Norton A/V doesn't fix it.

Click Cancel to debug the program.Almost simultaneously a Microsoft Send Error Report Dialog Box pops up talking of sending a report on HP Cue error.I usually have to click OK to continue the startup. View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter buying and installing the new hardware i'm now having some issues. Everything was fine for weeks but now sometimes i get an error message. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Everything starts up as per normal but once it comes to the Windows screens (desktop) i get a blue screen with the error message: So i pretty much need to restart the pc and it goes back to normal. All hardware and software has been checked time and time again. All seems to be ok. Bar the dvd drive. The dvd drive doesn't let me access it, however if i put a dvd, audio or data cd in then autoplay takes over and asks if i want to play it or whatever. But if i want to open it by double clicking or selecting open after right-clicking then it doesn't allow it. I get the error message: d: not accssible. Incorrect function.

I know this means that that file is missing but I cannot fix it because I don't have my Windows XP CD nor do I have a Startup Disk so I could recover the register. What I have done was, got a BART CD and booted from it and windows loaded but I don't know how to fix or find the corrupted file.

Tried a restore to last known good restore point... made no difference. Should I just do a restore using Windows Disc or is there possibly something more sinister going on here?

I keep getting this message everytime I try to turn the computer on. It will occasionally begin to start up but then will automatically reboot and I will get the Disk boot failure - Insert system disk and press Enter message again. I read the old posts on this but I have not been installing anything new.

I restarted and windows froze again on the startup screen. I restarted in safe mode and ran a disk check (scheduled it for next restart). The system booted up after the disk check completed (it said it found and fixed errors). However, it was dead slow,. I have avira antivir personal(updated with the latest definitions), I ran a full system scan, and it found nothing but a "hidden object". Here's the report:-

I have a P4 HT (old one) I formatted its hard disk using another comp to install a fresh copy of WinXP but the bootable XP is unable to start as there is a "GRUB" message that is last shown and then nothing happens.I have only 1 drive attached to this comp which is this one.it is running in a slave mode(doesn't matter as its the only default drive for the motherboard to read, and i have lost my jumper pin so thats y it is running in a slave mode.)What shd i do abt this "GRUB" message and how shd i go about installing WinXP ?
