Aug 23, 2006Everytime i start my computer now for some reason i get a windows - no disk error and i have to click continue about 10 - 15 times just to make it go away.

Feb 12, 2005I have reinstalled floppy disk drive and I still have no light or sound. You are talking to a noncomputer person. I orginally bought the computer to surf and now I want start playing with it. I have windows 2000. I would like to copy some programs and I can't get the floppy disk A to work. What do I do next? If I purchase a new computer, I need certain files and programs without having to repurchase. I even thought I might be doing things wrong. Having never used the floppy this was my first time. When I click on send to I get a message saying insert floppy in to drive A with a cancel prompt in the right lower corner. When I put the disk in that nothing happens.

Aug 8, 2005I get the mj view error code at start up.I also cannot shut down my computer(i believe the 2 are related) I have to do it manually so I just hibernate.Information was given to me that it could be the ebates moneymaker program installed.I checked for that and do not have it but i do have i give shopping window.Well, I went to remove this program and i cannot.The error code comes back everytime i click "remove"I also successfully removed 2 other unwanted programs so it seems that this program could be the problem.How can I get rid of the error message and this program? Mar 25, 2005everytime i shut down my comp, when i turn it on again i get an error message that says 'insert boot disk' on the startup screen. i'm not sure what the exact message was, but it was something about boot disk i should have written it down anyway, i turned the comp off, and shook the CPU a bit and then tried again and it started. Apr 25, 2006I am running Win XP-SP2. I wiped my hard drive due to irresolvable software conflicts. I reinstalled XP-SP2, Office, Norton, the printer and scanner and my digital camera software package. All were updated and working perfectly until Sunday. I booted up the machine only to get a warning that says One of your disks may have errors let the computer reboot itself (which it will do repeatedly, stuck in a reboot loop) or you can hit any key to ignore this warning. You have only ten seconds to read all this and make a decision.
Once the computer boots up, everything seems to work as normal except for system restore. I tried to restore to the day after I reformatted and installed everything and all I get is an error saying Cannot restore to that point, please choose another point to restore tooor something to that effect.

Aug 15, 2008Last week i installed windows XP Pro on my desktop. It has a 250GB hard drive which has 1 partition (C drive only), NTFS offcourse. I did not format it while installing windows as it has lots of stuff in it. There's over 50GB free and i�ve been removing a lot of stuff from the hard drive to make up some space but in windows i get an error message that i don't have enough disk space, the disk cleanup utility runs cant free up space and i can not install or copy anything in the hard drive. I've noticed that when i deleted some file holding (or not) the shift key the free size goes lower although the files are being deleted from the hard disk.

error, tried that same thing so I shut down and when I turned back on it booted fine. I have since moved... just set up the system and am getting the same error except this time shutdown/restart isn't working ( The OTHER problem I realize is this... this is a tempory move! Most everything I own is in a storage unit, boxes to the back, furniture to the front and guess where my disks are? Right! I put printer, shredder, disks, everything I didn't just HAVE to have in the storage unit.

May 29, 2007I am trying to reformat my daughters computer using the Windows XP Home Edition CD. But after installing a new CD Rom drive, the computer doesn't recognize the cd rom. I tired add new hardware wizard but when it gets to the part where I can pick the hardware I am trying to install it doesn't list any CD rom drives. I have even tried to change the boot sequence in the Bios settings. Still no luck. So I am hoping that there is a way for me to make a start up disk using the Original Windows XP Home Edition CD.
