IcrediMail XE, it's half way installed and stuck there, hasn't moved in the last hour, so I cannot uninstall it at Ad or Remove.
How I got it in the first place I do not remember,
My friends XP crashed so I leant them my recovery disc (my old pc had XP this one has vista), when the xp recovery disc didn't work for them, they used my Acer Vista one which has half or more loaded vista and stalled probably because the lap top is to old to handle it. Anyway there is a blue Acer loading screen doing nothing and the vista programs run behind it which makes it difficult to see what you're doing. They brought it around to me as I can use this pc to see what I'm doing and try and fix there's more or less by feel, if that makes sense. They tried reinstalling my xp disc but vista seems to super seed it and it wont take, which doesn't surprise me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past few weeks, windows has been only recognizing half (256mb) of my total 512mb of ram. Something that makes this problem even more peculiar is that third party tools such as cpu-z and speedfan see the full 512mb, but the system properties and dxdiag both say 256mb. The bios also says 512mb, dual channel mode. I can also make any information about this system that anyone needs to help me with this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo installed WinXP Pro on my 3 month old HP pavillion personal computer and I am having an issue with the ram Apparently windows is only recognizing half of it.Here are some of the most pertinent details: AMD Turion64 ML-34,Radeon Xpress 200m w/128 MB on the video card. There are 512 MB installed DDR, Dual Channel. The bios is recognizing all 512 of the ram, but windows properties only shows 256.dxdiag also shows 256, but CPU-Z shows all 512.Does anyone have any idea whats going on? Has anyone actually experienced this phenomenon? I don't know if this is just a reading error, causing no performance difference, but I think I can feel the difference, but since its pretty new and the operating system has only been installed for about 2 weeks, I haven't gotten to get a good feel of what its supposed to be. I have also noticed in the past couple days that it takes a very long time to boot.

VLC Media player plays the dvd, but only half of the audio is played. If anyone knows how to fix that, then that would be great. Also if I try using Media Player Classic then it plays choppy/slowed down video and audio.I also tried AVS Media player, but that would start to load the video and stop at 3% and never get any farther.I am not sure how that program works, but it seemed like it was trying to rip the dvd and then play it or something.
My computer boots really slow, and when it's finished booting up more than half of my startup items have not started up. I'm running XP Home SP2.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install two different programs, but there's a problem. I am encountering windows or panels (or whatever you call them) that are cut off on the right side. I can only see half the window, so I cannot click the "next" buttons to continue the installation. It's like someone took an x-acto knife and sliced off the right half of the window. I also have this problem with my HP Printer Toolbox. I thought that maybe I had uninstalled a critical system font, but all the system fonts are there, except for Modern MS Sans Serif, which I can't find anywhere.

View 6 Replies View Relatedhere's what's up - after about 10 minutes of being on the computer it slows down significantly, particularly web browsing. i usually notice the problem when using firefox 2.0 to check out videos on Internet. after watching 2 or so videos, the videos become very choppy and the system starts coming to a halt. checking out the task manager - i find that the cpu hits 100% during these episodes and per the processes the cpu is being gobbled up by firefox. a similar thing happens when i run itunes.
i installed a browser to monitor cpu speed/temp etc. i found that i have tons of ram available (at least 600 mb) even during the slow periods. i also found that the cpu temp is pretty reasonable (53 c) but then i found that my cpu is running at 600 mhz (most of the time, irregardless if plugged in or not). i can't seem to make my system run at full cpu capacity and am not sure why or if this has anything to do with my problem.
i had Ubuntu (dual boot with XP), and i got both partions on 15GBs each, now that Ubuntu its gone, i thought that my XP would have back the 30GB it used to have but it doesnt, it still says it has the 15GB the partion used to have, and i deleted Ubuntu by using my XP disk and Repaired the computer doing the fixmbr thingy and i thought it was going to make it the way it was before, also, my floppy drive doesnt seem to work, it lights up, when i log in it seems like its trying to scan a floppy or something, and when i try to open up a floppy disk it freezes the window and doesnt let me work or anything.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've installed the new drive, formatted it two partitions, and installed my XP on the new drive. The old drive is still installed, and I can select which drive I am booting off of. Boot off the old drive, I'm on my old PC. Boot off the new one, I'm on the new.Only one of the XPs are active at a time. The other says it must be activated.
So, at this point, I boot to the old, and (with this OS activated)run the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. I specify that I am saving the data on one of the drives in the PC. It runs and says it's successful. Then I boot off the new drive and (now with THIS OS activated) when I point the FAST to the directory where I saved the files, the wizard says there's no files there to load. I can see .dat files in the directory, but the wizard can't.
Ive installed xp pro and formatted my hard drive after i had a nasty virus which basicly stopped my computer from booting. However for some reason it seems like ex pro hasnt picked up any of my drivers at all, like i have no sound no internet. Im not really sure what to do im sure my first step would be getting onto the internet but my ethernet is plugged in nothing shows on my connections and i am unable to create a new conection, sorry if i havnt explained myself very well my computer skills arnt great.
