I keep getting this message when I try to download itunes, and I have two brand new ipod nano's that I can't use until this problem is solved. My computer is a ComPaq Presario 6000, built in 2002, with Windows xp home edition. could not open key Hkey_local_machinesoftwareclasses.cddaopen with progIds. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

The problem arises when I try to view a video, downloaded to my computer, from my digital camera. This is the error signature:AppName: realplay.exe AppVer: 11.0.0.431 ModName: quicktime.qts odVer: 7.2.0.240 Offset: 000cd909 I'm also advised that my Quicktime player is out of date and to please update. OK...I try that, then get the message:QuickTime player is not properly installed. Please reinstall. So I go to Add & Remove Programs and first attempt to "Repair QuickTime", which is unsuccessful. Then I try to uninstall but can't because files are missing.I'm running Windows XP SP2, IE6(don't like IE7) on a Dell Dimension 8200, 512MB ram. My technical/computer skills are limited!

Yesterday, I spent 15 hours at my machine trying to download this large file (56k Modem) and at 131+MB, my connection to my ISP broke and I lost it. I have tried several times before and after this crushing loss and have had similar problems.
Is there any software or other means to "restart" when a downloading process has been broken off and continue the download? That seems possible, say, when downloading Microsoft service packs and upgrades.but can I do it too?

It is almost new and I gave my own two year old model to a needy friend.I had my friendly neighbourhood computer guy who "fixes" things for me, to transfer all my files and programmes from one to the other.One of the several items which I can't find is my iTunes. Over the years I have compiled a fairly comprehensive list of music which I downloaded to my iPod. Now my iPod has died of old age and apparently will cost more than it's worth to repair. I don't mind buying a new iPod but i do want my tunes back.

Then I installed iTunes to connect to my iPod. I then tried to use Roxio and it could not find my DVD RW drive!! I then uninstalled Roxio and then installed it again. I could then find the DVD RW drive but iTunes said it could not initiallize the drivers to burn CDs. How do I setup my computer so I can use multiple CD/DVD buring software packages?

There's probably more programs out there that I cannot install, so I really want to resolve this issue as it is very annoying. everytime I try to install any of these programs i get this message. Instead, I just get a red screen with ERROR and says to contact Compaq for support. I'm assuming something is "missing" that allows the Quick Restore to be "ok" with loading. I have a 2 Year old HP dv600 Laptop that causes endless griefThe computer boots up with the HP quick Play display on screen with a choice of three selections DVD.Music and Windows OS When Windows OS is selected the Computer goes in to search which takes up to 1-2 Min.and then goes in to sleep mode The only way to get it to boot up at all is to boot in to safe mode and then restart I have uninstalled HP quick launch with no results it seems Quick Play is a Keyboard service and there doesn't seem any way to circumvent the Key.

I can't imagine why I don't have this function. When I drag to the quicklaunch bar I don't see the usual black line on the left of the icon.I can drag and drop on the desktop all day. Any suggestion as to what the problem might be? I have never had this problem in eight years I have had a computer.

I have to click the small arrow on quick launch bar( see the first and second attachements with my post). I want to know is there some way that I can see more than just 3 progeammes on this bar without clicking the arrow? Secondly can I choose which programmes to appear all the time on quick launch bar( see first attachement) and which programmes should be hidden and will only appear when I click the small arrow( see second attachement).
