I have quick books installed that we aren't even using. Dave wants me to remove it because it taking up 840.00 MB. When I go to remove programs it says "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed" and it won't let me do anything else.
View 3 RepliesI am a Quick Books Pro Advisor I have a client that is trying to use the Quick Books internal backup function.finally after 1.5 hours on the phone with ProAdvisor Tech Support we were able to get the local backup to work. Unbeknownst to me, this backup function within QB actually uses a comman from windows to accomplish this backup and QB has to be shut down in addition he scheduled periodic backup to a server as well this is a good idea...but our tech support told us that windows will not support this.I need a good (financially sound) option for scheduled backups within quickbooks for him - and a good overall backup system for myself.

The problem arises when I try to view a video, downloaded to my computer, from my digital camera. This is the error signature:AppName: realplay.exe AppVer: 11.0.0.431 ModName: quicktime.qts odVer: 7.2.0.240 Offset: 000cd909 I'm also advised that my Quicktime player is out of date and to please update. OK...I try that, then get the message:QuickTime player is not properly installed. Please reinstall. So I go to Add & Remove Programs and first attempt to "Repair QuickTime", which is unsuccessful. Then I try to uninstall but can't because files are missing.I'm running Windows XP SP2, IE6(don't like IE7) on a Dell Dimension 8200, 512MB ram. My technical/computer skills are limited!
I am reading programming windows 5th edition by charles petzold. This is a great book which has plenty of good examples but no exercises or assignments for the user to code and looking for other books web sites

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy sister's laptop, (Windows XP) is freezing up and having a lot of trouble accessing the internet. She thinks it's from an e-mail that she downloaded a screen saver from. It has to do with a web page called freeze.com, 3D Dolphins screen saver, desktop weather and a couple of other things that all downloaded at the same time.She has to go to Control, Alt, Delete to try to get the laptop to shut down and then has to click on "End Now" several times. I will attach a picture of the list.Also, when she goes to "Add & Remove", it won't let her uninstall the desktop weather and another one called When U Save.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is Toshiba Satellite A215, with Windows XP home edition. I had Service Pack 2, but about a week ago, I updated to Service Pack 3. After installing Service Pack 3, the whole computer slowed down and started acting weird. The speaker started to make noise, it started to show error messages often, the internet does not work smoothly, spyware & virus search take 10 hour or more and never finish (it used to take only a few hours), etc.
So, I wanted to put the Service Pack 2 back to my computer. I tried uninstalling SP 3. But it failed uninstalling and I got a message says something like "couldn't uninstall SP3". I thought it might let me uninstall if I restart the computer and I tried to restart, and it never start again. This blue screen with a message, something like "autochk program not found-autochk skipped" comes up and then it goes back to the Windows LOGO screen and keeps doing the same thing. I read about some similar problems, and tried a few things, like starting with safe mode or last setting that worked, etc, but they do not seem to work....
Compaq Presario 5000. Hard Drive failed, replaced hard drive and now Win XP Quick Restore Cd's that came with this PC won't load on new Hard Drive. Instead, I just get a red screen with ERROR and says to contact Compaq for support. I'm assuming something is "missing" that allows the Quick Restore to be "ok" with loading. I've formatted the Hard Drive.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi need to buy a compaq quickrestore cd. ive been looking online and they seem pretty hard to find. i found one website that might work but im not sure(restoredisks.com). also, i found somewhere that there was some type of settlement with compaq and that i might be able to get a quick restore cd for free through https://www.orderz.com/qrcons/page1.asp i have my serial number on the side of my computer so everything would be legit. if worst comes to worst i might just call up compaq tech support and try and buy one from them but im not sure how much that would cost.

I have a 2 Year old HP dv600 Laptop that causes endless griefThe computer boots up with the HP quick Play display on screen with a choice of three selections DVD.Music and Windows OS When Windows OS is selected the Computer goes in to search which takes up to 1-2 Min.and then goes in to sleep mode The only way to get it to boot up at all is to boot in to safe mode and then restart I have uninstalled HP quick launch with no results it seems Quick Play is a Keyboard service and there doesn't seem any way to circumvent the Key.

My quick launch tab is checked so it's not that. How do I get my Quick Launch Button back? I don't know how anyone can function without that Button.. I love that button! I Right Mouse the taskbar.. go to Toolbars and yes that Quick Launch Tab is checked.. they actually removed it and deleted it..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just got another computer running XP home. I am not able to drag and drop a shortcut to the quicklaunch bar. And yes I have the bar unlocked and quicklaunch checked. I can't imagine why I don't have this function. When I drag to the quicklaunch bar I don't see the usual black line on the left of the icon.I can drag and drop on the desktop all day. Any suggestion as to what the problem might be? I have never had this problem in eight years I have had a computer.

I have to click the small arrow on quick launch bar( see the first and second attachements with my post). I want to know is there some way that I can see more than just 3 progeammes on this bar without clicking the arrow? Secondly can I choose which programmes to appear all the time on quick launch bar( see first attachement) and which programmes should be hidden and will only appear when I click the small arrow( see second attachement).

The quicklaunch buttons, for some reason, are disproportionately large,though.I know that before they were nice and tidy (before I had to reinstall), so know that it IS possible to have something that takes less space than these do. Is there some separate setting somewhere else for quicklaunch button size that I am missing?

Now, whenever I reboot, the toolbar disappears and I have to right click on the task bar, select toolbars, and select Quick Launch. Any ideas why this may be happening or how to prevent this from being removed each time. I tried locking the taskbar, but that didn't help.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently had to restore a mail folder for my Thunderbird application for a deleted account.So I accidentally made my entire application data folder visible (not hidden).Since then, an application called Quick Launch appears in the Applications pane of the Task manager that I can't kill.My understanding was that it was just a toolbar folder in the Application data folder. Every time I go full screen in WMP and come out, a little Quick Launch window minimizes itself to the bottom right of the taskbar.

E.G my documents on the original might read :- 1500 folders / 13,385 files.Now if I go to the properties of the backup it might read for example 1500 folders / 13,357 files.Why the difference? Why does the batch not copy all files as asked of it.I am copying the documents folder on the file server to 2 other machines via a mapped drive as below
