Mystery Programs In Uninstall List
Apr 28, 2007I have an NEC laptop with Windows XP. I ran C-cleaner today and under the 'Tools' section, found in the 'Uninstall' section several strange programs that I have never installed. I don't know whether to remove them or leave them as they are. I've had the experience of deleting some mystery programs off my old computer and then finding that something or other couldn't run, so I'm deathly afraid that the same thing will happen on my laptop. I'll list out my NEC laptop mystery program names here.
what these programs are and whether to uninstall or leave them? Here they are:
1. AppCore
2. AV
3. ccCommon
4. CP2101 USB to UART Bridge Controller
5. Internet Worm Protection (could this be part of the trial version of Norton Antivirus on my comouter?)
6. SPBBC 32bit
7. SymNet
Also, I've checked other forums that say the following programs (which I didn't install but are on my Programs to Remove list in CCleaner) are harmless, but I just want to make sure they really are. Here is the list:

Apr 5, 2005I wanted to uninstall a program that did not come up on windows add/remove program. I d/l a prog. to uninstall it. The prog. also had a registry cleaner/optimizer which I used. Had to reboot. when it restarted, I got a blue screen of death. pushed the on button and rebooted. Got the blue screen again. tried to repair with my re-install disk, no luck. the error message is � file is either missing or corrupt: /windows/system32/config/system

Jan 9, 2009I had some virusses that was cleaned and I used Malware anti malwarebytes , super antispyware and spybot to clean the system from any other software. I used registry mechanic to clean the registry and cleanup to get rid of all the rubbish files. When I start the pc it is still extremely slow. It takes about 5 minutes to boot. When I use a program for the first time after a reboot it opens slowly but after that it flies.

Aug 6, 2009I need to know if I clean out the administration ID on a computer, if the other ID’s are also cleaned out at the same time, I have never had to maintain a computer with more than one ID, although I have used and added programs to one.I ask as the other ID’s of course do not have the permissions that the Administration ID has, and the other ID's stop me doing some stuff.Is the only way to clean the other ID’s out is by making them temporary Administrators? Computer is running XP Pro full version and service pack 3 all updates exccept still running IE7

It has grown increasingly slower in response time (ie. IE "churns" for 20-30 seconds before opening). I suspect that I have a lot of garbage loaded at start and other processes running that I don't need. How can cleaning this up?

Sep 21, 2005I know you all seen this problem before but I've got to try. I have a Compaq, with a 60 gig hard drive, 384 of memory, 1195 Mhz processor and running windows XP. My computer runs like it was at the tops 300 Mhz. I've check for virus and spy ware, deleted unnecessary files, uninstall most of my games, defrag the c drive and defrag my registrey. For example, if I click on an application from the desktop it will sit there for 10-20 seconds before anything happens. I've walked her through the process of clicking on View at the top of the Outlook Express Interface and setting the Layout items so that her Contacts and Folder list should be on the screen, but they are not. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify the situation and I've run out of options. The way it is without her folders list she cannot access her deleted folder and her sent folder and cannot delete anything from those folders. Dec 23, 2008This is a Windows XP sp3 domain connected PC with one specific user, which all of a sudden takes 2.5mins to log in to the domain, Where it used to take just about 20 seconds. Other users on the same PC is all OK 20sec login This is not the usual where it hangs at "applying computer settings" or "personal settings" it's after those two has passed that it just hangs for a couple of minutes.
All i get is the mouse pointer (not even hourglass) and the desktop wallpaper for about 2-3 minutes. When it finally logs in everything is as quick as you would expect that spec of PC to be (1,6ghz Sempron, 1gb RAM, 40gb IDE-100 HDD)

Sep 26, 2006computer now takes half an hour to an hour to reboot. in doing so, it tells me that it does not do the startup and services. it is so slow it is unbelievable. sometimes even being so slow that the words we type take a few seconds to show up on the screen. after working for a time it will invariably hang. or it will shut itself down. in either case we have to reboot, it takes that half an hour to an hour again

Sep 3, 2009My computer is Toshiba Satellite A215, with Windows XP home edition. I had Service Pack 2, but about a week ago, I updated to Service Pack 3. After installing Service Pack 3, the whole computer slowed down and started acting weird. The speaker started to make noise, it started to show error messages often, the internet does not work smoothly, spyware & virus search take 10 hour or more and never finish (it used to take only a few hours), etc.
So, I wanted to put the Service Pack 2 back to my computer. I tried uninstalling SP 3. But it failed uninstalling and I got a message says something like "couldn't uninstall SP3". I thought it might let me uninstall if I restart the computer and I tried to restart, and it never start again. This blue screen with a message, something like "autochk program not found-autochk skipped" comes up and then it goes back to the Windows LOGO screen and keeps doing the same thing. I read about some similar problems, and tried a few things, like starting with safe mode or last setting that worked, etc, but they do not seem to work....

Problem started when running Internet Explorer and would receive an error tab every time stating IE must close. The data error was a mcsvrt.dll problem. Now when I start the computer it takes 10-15 minutes to boot completely and accessing Mozilla or any apps after about 3-4 mins takes ages.
