May 28, 2008how to do a Microsoft License trace. How can i check that what license the customer has installed for MS Server 2000 and MS Server 2003?

Unable To Get Second License From Microsoft ?
Nov 21, 2007I made the mistake of installing the "latest" MB drivers on my MSI Platinum motherboard. MS WIN XP seems to have a spyware program that detects thse changes and asked me to "re-register" my OEM software. Since I did not have my network connection up, I attempted to do it on the telephone. And because I am at least semi-honest, I let it slip that I had installed my copy of XP on two personal computers. After getting the MS Lecture (Thou shalt not use a single license on more than one PC), I was switched to another person who offered me a second license for a mere $184 US. I reluctantly agreed. He tried three times to enter my OEM XP disc's numbers into the re-authorization system and failed.

Aug 12, 2002After running the MS Bootvis utility, the file C:WINDOWSSystem32LogFilesWMI race.log becomes hugely inflated. The file shrinks on reboting but may rapidly grow to a few gig's in size, to cure the problem run BootVis again and click Trace-->Stop Tracing, the file will now stop growing and may be safely deleted.The MSBootVis utility may be found here:http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/platform/performance/fastboot/default.asp

Jul 14, 2008On my PC, I have C: and F: as my hard drives - and the F: is used for all of my music storage - there are 3 main folders on this hard drive. All of my music is stored in artist alphabetical order. The capacity of the hard drive is 80 gig (76.3) - whilst going into my music folder, all of the artists from A to G are listed, but beyond that - they have dissapeared! The hard drive has got 75.3 gig used, thus the files are still there. I have checked that the hidden files tab is on, and the files are still not showing - however say I do a search for an artist on the F: ie Pulp, no files found matching that name

Feb 24, 2007I know it is stupid but i have put up all the defense i can, firewall, antivirus, but somehow these nasty buggers just slip through. I am no computer expert, just an average user, so i don't want to reinstall the entire windows XP and go through all the update process.So the question is: how can i track down whatever is causing this random, time-to-time IE pop ups? When i do my research the term active scripting comes up all the time (for pop ups). I wonder if this is the culprit and will this thing remains active even I don't have IE windows opened.

May 21, 2006I have a Dell 9100 with Dual Core CPU and 1GB memory running XP Professional. This PC is very slow at boot time. Even once it is up it is slow and constantly making churning noise. May 3, 2006I know that may seem like a relatively obvious question however I was hoping to flush out some details from people with more experience than I possess.I was told that if you have a retail copy of XP pro, if you stop using old machine and buy a new 1 then you can transfer your license across. I however purchased an OEM copy of XP pro about 4 years for my old laptop. I have not used it in a few years and was hoping that if I make a new computer I can use my old key. I am pretty sure when I try to activate it that it will say the key is no good and to call their help number but what details are stored on their system? If I say that I have simply formatted my old machine and are doing a new install will I then be able to use the code they give me for my new machine or is the code somehow 'locked' to the CPU number or something? If any1 has any experience migrating a license across then please advise me. I do not wish to use a pirated copy and will buy a new license if needed but hope that it is not neccesary since I paid for this license and I am happy to format my old machine and not use it again.

I have all the software that came with it, and I have a copy of XP home, but I can't find anything with the license key information. The F10 recovery does not work. F8 does not work. I cannot get Windows to load at all. Does anyone know how I can find out what the license key is? Will HP give me that info? I can call them..but I just hate talking with their tech support.

Well i only have one user, never had another user created until recently (temporary fix) is there anything i can do, the main user is called the owner, it says its the computer admin, but i guess there is still an admin user, i cant get to that. the only way i can get ms office to work was to create a new user, open all the office programs, export the office registry, and import it to my main user, thats the only thing that works, for a little bit.

I wrote down the key and wonder if I can reactivate a reinstall using the same key. I am hoping I do not need to do a scratch install, but if I do, I dont want to have to call the indians if I dont need to.
