Aug 4, 2005I'm trying to access this fantastic jigsaw puzzle at ,and when I paste it into the address bar, I get a little red x up in the left-hand corner of the picture. Where do I go in my security settings to change them so I can get this site?

Sep 25, 2006I bought a laptop from someone. Dell 6230S. It has windows XP sp2. I reloaded Windows and made myself the administrator. The person who had this before me has a group of files, lets call them JONAH (not real name) about 1/2 GB in size and I can't delete them!! Actually I've managed to delete some but not all. Jonah is about 1/2 the size it used to be. They're located in C:documents and Settings and they contain all his old files including his windows files, my documents etc. I've tried deleting from safe mode, I've tried using KillBOX (in and out of safe mode and on reboot), I've tried unchecking "READ OnLY" and I still can't do it. This is quite a bit of space so I want to reclaim it. I'm using NTFS.

Jan 13, 2008When I open up the Start Menu on one of the accounts, there is nothing in the left-hand column. When I right click and get the Properties, and try to Customize the Menu, the options don't save, and I'm stuck with nothing. I've tried clicking on the Internet radio button for "Show on Start Menu". I click Ok, then Apply, and Finally Ok again. But when I go back to the menu, it still has nothing in the left-hand column.
The second thing I've noticed was under Folder Options -> View, I tried to check both the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" button, and also un-check "Hide extensions for Known File Types" and click on Apply, then Ok again. But still, these options don't save and are reset back to "Do not show hidden files", and "hide extensions".

I installed a software last night on my computer to allow me to transfer images and stuff to my cell phone (motorolla product). When I was installing it a box or something appeared saying it was suddenly missing files and it wanted me to put in the Service pack 2 disk - which I didn't have. My only guess is that is what caused this problem. I have not saved anything yet (was going to do that tomarrow on my only day off)

Oct 17, 2005I have a dell lattitude d800, and my mouse pointer automatically goes to the upper left hand corner. i've plugged an external mouse and i get the same problem. i don't have any spyware - or viruses - as i've ran adaware, spybot, and microsoft antispyware. i've also ran Norton antivirus - and none of the three have detected maliciuos sw or viruses. i don't have any other problems w/the machine. i've uninstalled the default drivers, and reinstalled them.

May 3, 2006I know that may seem like a relatively obvious question however I was hoping to flush out some details from people with more experience than I possess.I was told that if you have a retail copy of XP pro, if you stop using old machine and buy a new 1 then you can transfer your license across. I however purchased an OEM copy of XP pro about 4 years for my old laptop. I have not used it in a few years and was hoping that if I make a new computer I can use my old key. I am pretty sure when I try to activate it that it will say the key is no good and to call their help number but what details are stored on their system? If I say that I have simply formatted my old machine and are doing a new install will I then be able to use the code they give me for my new machine or is the code somehow 'locked' to the CPU number or something? If any1 has any experience migrating a license across then please advise me. I do not wish to use a pirated copy and will buy a new license if needed but hope that it is not neccesary since I paid for this license and I am happy to format my old machine and not use it again.

Jul 13, 2005I have about 30 laptop computers with XP Pro. I'd like to install the OS, Office, and other APPs w/out using a specific license key. Then, make a ghost image of that installation. Later, when a laptop goes bad (they do all the time) I can ghost the image back, register the appropriate license key(s) and get started. Is there such a way for me to install Windows and Office?

How To Update License Code?
Jan 5, 2006A friend installed his copy of XP on my machine many months ago. I already had my own license for XP at that point, but as a matter of convenience at the time, we installed his copy. Now as you know, MS won't supply automatic updates anymore, because they think I have a stolen copy of XP. Technically correct, but realistically, not quite that bad. How do I tell the operating system my correct license code? Will I need to reinstall the OS, or can it be done with less fuss?
