Mouse Jumping To Bottom Right Hand Corner Of Screen?
Dec 12, 2005
My mouse is jumping around alot, I have noticed it jump to the bottom right hand corner of the screen a few times. Optical mouse, Dell inspiron l2200 Laptop, brand new, 1.4Ghz, 504mb of ram, XP home. My laptop has been slow since I got it. I have HJT and CleanUp!, Adware, Norton, McAfee and Ewido.
Out of nowhere for some reason not everything is loading on the bottom right hand corner of my screen.Sometimes it loads now and sometimes it doesn't load.I tried to check for spyware but it found nothing is there anything.Dell Inspiron 2200 Intel Celeron(R) M Processor 1.40GHz 504 MB RAM.
I have a dell lattitude d800, and my mouse pointer automatically goes to the upper left hand corner. i've plugged an external mouse and i get the same problem. i don't have any spyware - or viruses - as i've ran adaware, spybot, and microsoft antispyware. i've also ran Norton antivirus - and none of the three have detected maliciuos sw or viruses. i don't have any other problems w/the machine. i've uninstalled the default drivers, and reinstalled them.
My computer will not boot up. It gets to a certian point and sits there flashing an underscore in the top, left hand corner of the screen. It has done this before, like it stalled on start up and I would just restart it and it would finish booting but that isn't working. I'm using XP Professional...
I installed a software last night on my computer to allow me to transfer images and stuff to my cell phone (motorolla product). When I was installing it a box or something appeared saying it was suddenly missing files and it wanted me to put in the Service pack 2 disk - which I didn't have. My only guess is that is what caused this problem. I have not saved anything yet (was going to do that tomarrow on my only day off)
This may be somewhat esoteric but... Under my start button there is a sliver of the taskbar - either blue, silver, or olive green depending on the theme chosen. It wasn't always like this. The start button used to go all the way to the bottom of the screen without any 'line' below it. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to make the start button fill the bottom left corner of the screen again?
I'm trying to access this fantastic jigsaw puzzle at ,and when I paste it into the address bar, I get a little red x up in the left-hand corner of the picture. Where do I go in my security settings to change them so I can get this site?
Since my last auto matic update from Microsoft on 28th Aug 2005,I keep getting a Security warning in the bottom right hand of my Monitor. On Checking on it,it refers to Anti Virus & I have Nortons Anti Virus With Auto Updates when ever I log onto the internet.I have run Nortons Anti Virus & my Computer is all clear. How Can I get rid of this warning.
i have a problem with windows media player, whenever i try to play a video, it says play at the bottom left hand side of the screen but nothing plays, audio, or video, what do i do?
I have White Box on my Desktop In Upper-Left Corner of my screen that I cannot delete or otherwise remove. I am running Windows XP, and McAfee and Ad-Aware say I have no viruses. In trying to get rid of this box I have discovered that I can expand and reduce the size of the box from the lower right hand corner, and if I drag a web page shortcut icon from my desktop over the box, the web page is displayed. When a web page is being displayed inside the box there are scroll bars on the right and bottom sides to scroll around the web page. If I click on a hyperlink within the box, my default web browser is opened to the link. At first I was using IE, and then I switched to Firefox, and it made no difference. Periodically, the web page being displayed inside the box will disapear, along with the scrolling bars, leaving behind a white box.
When there is a web page being displayed in the box I can right click on the box and I get a menu with the following options: Back, Forward, Save Background as, Set Background, Copy Background, Set as Desktop Item, Select All, Paste, Create Shortcut, Ad to Favorites, View Source, Print, Refresh, Export to Microsoft Excel, Print, Properties. Some of these items are grayed out. If I select properties, there is a "General" tab with the name of the web page, Protocol Info, Type, Connection, Address, Size, Created, Modified. There is a Certificates button at the bottom in addition to OK and Cancel buttons.
there my computer has developed this problem of the mouse leaping around and randomly opening and closing programs. It has only been a problem in the last couple of months or so.Someone suggested I had a virus but virus checker has not revealed anything. I have just changed to macafee virus in case the free one was missing something and the problem appears worse now. This is the third time I've started this message.
I have two HDD. In the 1st one XP and Ubuntu and in the 2nd one FC5. Suddenly the XP is not booting. As I choose XP from boot loader [I use Acronis Boot Manager] it is giving me a blank screen with the cursor blinking at the top left corner. Just that no movement, no XP logo nothing.
I tried fixmbr, fixboot and chkdsk; but in vein. sfc scannow is not supported. Fixmbr and fixboot succeeded but it is giving me the same result. I reinstalled FC5's Grub in the hdb5 [location of FC5's installation] but it does not give me boot option. I then reinstalled FC5's grub in hda1 and atleast now I can access net and look for immediate help from you. I know reinstalation is the last option but I just don't want to do that unless I do not have any more avenues left.
I believe I got a virus it was stuck on a warning screen. I tried to reinstall window XP now it goes to choose Window XP Professional or Home on Black screen white lettering. It will not let you choose XP is highlighted. Then it goes to black screen with cursor in left hand corner.
My task bar is at the top of my screen. Can someone tell me how to put it back on the bottom? I've tried dragging it but it only moves halfway down and fills half the screen. I've tried dragging it from every edge and side.
Run XP at a low resolution, so I don't have lots of space for programs.Unfortunately, many programs, and windows run off the bottom of my screen and I can't see any of the options past that point. I can't move them because Windows won't let me move the programs past the top of the screen. There is the MOVE option from the menu in the top-left on some programs, but I am looking more for the ability to grab the windows anywhere, while maybe using a keyboard command, and dragging the window where I need it, past the edge of the screen.
I know this is a worn topic, but I searched for similar questions and didn't find the same problem that I am having.Upon reboot, immediatley after the BIOS load screen, I get a white progress bar across the bottom of a black screen. It will move a notch then hesitate for a minute then slowly progress. Once it gets up to about two or three notches it will zip to the end and XP starts to load. If I reboot in Safe Mode the same hesitiation occurs as it loads the list of drivers.Once I start to see the desktop, it will take another 7 minutes or so before I can gain control of the computer and the hard drive runs continuously during that time.
I had a few icons at the bottom left of screen (next to the start button)for my email and a couple of other programmes. For some reason they have disappeared, how do i get them back, I tried dragging and dropping but they just pop back to the desktop.
My wife was playing cards and when I went to computer after she had quit the task bar had moved from the bottom of the screen to vertically up the right hand side of screen. How do I get that moved back to the bottom of screen as it should be for me?
Dell inspiron 1300. The laptop goes fuzzy at the bottom half of the screen when the computer starts. It goes clear again straight when the booting sequence starts. (sometimes it boots fine). I am also getting random BSOD's now. Memory_managemet / fault to non paged area / usb etc. I was thinking mabe someting in the bios/motherboard is corrupt. An update to the bios didnt fix it.
My computer shutdown and on boot up it hangs at the black screen showing the white bar at the bottom. I have Windows 98 and 2000 on my computer and neither will boot up from C:, CDROM, or StartUp/BootUp disks. When I try to boot up from the Windows 2000 boot up disk it sometimes will not get passed the blue screen showing 'Windows 2000 setup. Once or twice it has shown some functions in the bar at the bottom of the page. I have tried to boot up using Windows 98 start up disk but most times it hangs at C:. Last night it did open Windows 98 but would not let me reinstall 2000 or do a repair. It now is hanging in both OS. I am told it could be my memory...but how do I check? Upon start up my memory check shows all is okay. I have ran the utility disk for my hard drive and it says all is okay. Before I invest in new memory is there anything else I should check or try? My computer is older and the memory is quite expensive.
I restarted my computer and it took about 5 minutes longer to load back onto the desktop. When I checked the task manager it was at 50% already and it keeps jumping up and down. I scanned for spyware and tried restoring as well.
I am running XP on my Compaq laptop. When typing in any field of more than 1 character, my cursor insists on placing itself randomly within material already typed and continues my typing stream at that point. From there it will place itself randomly somewhere else and continue my typing. This is maddening. I have scanned with several AV, Malware, spyware and other utilities and the PC is cleaned of anything possibly there. I have manually inspected all directories for suspicious and unknown files that could be causing this to no further avail. I regularly use AVG, Malwarebytes, Glary utilities, Cerebus utilities, Regcure, the Uniblue suite, Counterspy and others(all sequentially). This problem has persisted for months and need advice on what else to try to eliminate this problem.
Hi guys I recently noticed a problem with my system and i have scanned the heck out of it for viruses and Malware. my svchost is spiking ever other second and jumping my system to 100% CPU any Idea's on how to fix this?
I recently purshased a new pc.i got outlook express up and running ok and was recieving e mail no problem.i downloaded a free AVG anti-virius from computeractive`s web page along with the mcafree one that came with the pc.whats happeneing is that whenever i send and recieve a pop up appears at the bottom of the screen saying "e mail scanner" and the system prompts me for a password.if i click ok its prompts me again and if i click cancel it says "password was rejecteed" i did read somwhere that some anti virius software can cause a firewall that prevents you recieving mail.maybe its somthing really simple im just overlooking.
I am running xp on a toshiba laptop. I actually have two problems that I hope someone can give me some insight about:1) if I have several windows open and I try to perform a process like a save or open, windows jumps to a completely different application window. This can happen several times despite using the taskbar to select the specific window I'm trying to use.2) the windows are prone to stall on me, meaning I get the blue/white icon in the upper left corner and the window becomes unresponsive. this has happened with just about every program I use.
i'm having to boot into windows xp. on power up sytem goes through the windows xp splash screen (with progress bar) and then instead of login prompt it goes just into the blue screen with moveable mouse pointer arrow.
issue seems to be similar to: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt...o-startup.html http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt...p-problem.html but recommended solutions didn't help so far.
symptoms just before issue - was not able to run use some system features - utility to turn off the display, utility to bring up battery info - everything was working fine before this
what i've tried: boot to Last Known Good Configuration - resulting in the same blue screen
boot to Safe Mode / Safe Mode with networking / Safe Mode with comman prompt - resulting in blank (black) screen with "Safe Mode" in the corners and moveable mouse test the hardware (hard drive / memory etc.) via build in PC Doctor - all seems to be working i am able to use bootable XP CD from other machine to get into Recovery Console i am able to boot to simple live XP using BartPE-XPE usb key and access the hard drive
