Copy The Screen To Clipboard From An Old DOS Drafting Program
Sep 21, 2005
I want to copy the screen to Clipboard, from an old DOS drafting program. This program works OK, but will only load by filling the total screen, i e no taskbar etc available. Various combinations using PrtScn key have no effect (I can view the clipboard OK when the DOS program is minimised). Also hot-key commands from a Screen capture program do not work

Is there prog that can copy file from one folder to another, checking if each file from source folder is not present in destination folder (and subfolders) under different name (by checking size or crc or md5 whatever)?
Or prog that can check which of files from source folder (without subfolders) are same as files in destination folder (without subfolders) and mark them to delete or move or smooth

I am having trouble running a dos medical office management program after copying it via a Zip disk from a Windows 95 to a Windows XP computer. All files copy correctly and are installed on the Win XP hard drive ultimately. When I start the program It tells me that I need to increase the number of files in the Config.sys file from 40 to at least 99 files. After going to the Sysedit32 folder in XP, I found the Config.sys file (with nothing in it) and wrote the FILES=99. After re-booting XP I still get the same message. The dos program starts up the same way. When I copied and installed the program to another Win 95 or 98 computer the program runs fine after changing the Config.sys FILES=40 as prompted. Am I changing the correct file? The program uses FOXPRO 2.5 for the databases. The is no Config.sys file in the dos program
I have been having the following problem off and on for some time:
When I try to copy/paste files and folders in windows XP explorer (or in the desktop or a program's dialog box), windows wants to re-install one of the programs I have already installed on my computer or that I installed once upon a time.
Currently this is happening with Roxio Easy media Creator 7, but in the past it has happened with many other programs, such as MS Office, Roxio and some other shareware programs.

It then said it was gonna restard after 15 seconds that went by and restart after. It asked to press a key to restard from the CD but I didn't and the install should have kept on going on from there But the screen just stayed black with no activity going on at all. No beep, no restart,no CD spinning, but all fan running. I restart a few time, even restard the install always with the same result. Everything goed fine until the first restart happen.

As soon as it starts to run windows setup a blue screen appears and says:A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file setupdd.sys Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area This is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart you computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press f8 to select advance startup options, and then select safe modeTechnical Information: *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xe1607088, 0x00000000, 0xfc44bf3e, ox00000001)
I recently upgraded my laptop from XP Home to XP Pro. But, I absent-mindedly started to install by booting from the CD like I was doing a fresh install/reformat rather than doing it from inside the OS to do an upgrade. I caught myself, however and restarted without the CD and upgraded Windows from inside Windows. It worked, but now when I boot my computer, it gives me two options to choose from: "Windows XP Home Edition" or "Windows XP Professional Setup." When I pick the Home option, the computer boots up fine and goes to Windows.
However, when I go to Start>Control Panel>System, it shows that I have XP Pro even though I chose the XP Home option at boot. If I choose the XP Pro Setup option, it asks for the SP2 CD, even though the OS is bundled with SP2 on the same CD. I hit Enter, and it keeps asking for the SP2 CD even though the CD is in there. I tried to go to the Disk Management screen and delete the XP Pro Setup partition (which was only 1Gb), but that didn't work. So, I figured that boot.ini was still confused as to what to boot to.
Is it possible to copy a file that's "in use by another program"? That's the error I get when I do try and copy the file in question, and when I use the "unlocker" utility on it that I've got, I can unlock the program that has the file open; but as soon as I do that the file disappears (is deleted)! Not surprising I guess. Even if this is possible, I know that the file could be changing even as I try to copy it since another program has it in use. But I would like to be able to take a "snapshot" of the file at any given time.
So is it at all possible to copy the file? I'm using Windows XP SP2.
My computer seems to work fine except when I try to do a copy in Casper XP to backup my hard drive to external HD. I also got this stop code last night when trying to do a disk check to correct errors. Stop 0X0000000A (0X00000188, 0X000000FF, 0X00000000, 0X804E35E9). I have located online page for stop 0X0000000A codes which states could be driver problem... that last one parimeter 4 -- 804E35E9 how/where would I find out which/if this is associated to a particular driver so I can possibly correct it?
I'm trying to install UPnP on my system but I get this error message. The dll file IS there. I have tried downloading the file from the internet and Browsing to it on the desktop but it always gives this error message.
Windows xp pro and discovered that it is a pirated copy. I want to get rid of it and install my valid copy of 98se. do i format my hard drive i do have files i want to keep.
I use full screen programs, usually games, my pc automatically minimizes the program to show the desktop. anyone experience this? i think it is from a program i installed coz everytime i reformat my pc.
When I go to the start button and click on all programs a screen comes up with all my programs. The problem with this is that I can't see all of my programs. Win XP Pro creates a screen that is not wide enough to display all my programs. My question is there a way to move the left edge of the screen to the left edge on my monitor so I can see all my programs. This screen doesn't go to the left edge of my monitor and you can't just click on the left edge and drag it to the left. It doesn't move. There should be a piece of code that tell XP where to display on screen. Can I get access to this code and move the left edge of this screen to the left as far as possible? I have approximately 115 programs and XP displays 3 columns plus a half of another column that I can only read a few letters in the forth column. Can the width of these columns also be made smaller so that I could view all of them? I'm sure there is a way to do this but I have never seen this problem addressed anywhere.
When I open the Add and Remove screen from the control panel 2 strange things are present.
1. There are dozens of listings that have no change or remove buttons, I don't know where they come from and would like to get rid of them.
2. There is a huge blank blank area, 30 programs displayed then huge gap before the next program you have to slide the bar almost to the bottom to see the next program.
I'm in the process of repair/recovery of my machine (Dell Inspiron 8500 with Windows XP Home, Service Pack 2). I'm following exactly the instructions in:
http://attachments.techguy.org/attac...chmentid=62075, but a problem has developed. The "software" file (which is the file that the original blue screen error message says is "corrupt, absent or not writable") will not copy to the new tmp directory to create the backup. My understanding from the article is that this backup file (software.bak) will later be used to restore correct settings for various software applications. Since I can't copy it, it appears that I am screwed,
Im trying to copy a licensed copy of software to another cd. The software is on a 700 meg cdr. However there happens to be 1.5 gigs of files on the cd. How can i transfer the files to another cd the same way. Im trying to make a backup copy of my Microsoft office 2003 cd just in case anything happens to the original.
all of a sudden one of my programs keeps going to the left of my screen, this is the only oneit shows in the task menu icon but when i click it i cant see it, its off screen to the left.
I am running XP.The program menu bars and then those columns where you access your programs some of the programs are off my screen. I know there's a way to either consolidate or create another column, but I can't remember what to call this in order to look it up.
Id like to be able to capture my screen as well as my freinds webcam. Im making a small video of differant clips of my freinds and i doin supid/funny stuff on cam to put on one of my buddies webites. Any reccomendations on good webcam capture program??
On many occasions when I try to install various programs the Installshield wizard starts running and withing 1-2 seconds after the initial screen the program disappears with no errors or anything. I can never get the program or driver installed.
