Blue Screen Stop Code - Copy Casper To Backup Hard Drive To External

Jul 30, 2005

My computer seems to work fine except when I try to do a copy in Casper XP to backup my hard drive to external HD. I also got this stop code last night when trying to do a disk check to correct errors. Stop 0X0000000A (0X00000188, 0X000000FF, 0X00000000, 0X804E35E9). I have located online page for stop 0X0000000A codes which states could be driver problem... that last one parimeter 4 -- 804E35E9 how/where would I
find out which/if this is associated to a particular driver so I can possibly correct it?

HP 530 Blue Screen With A Stop Code

Jun 25, 2010

I'm working on an HP 530 and when I boot up, it blue screens with a stop code. The code is 0x0000007B So far, I have attempted F8 w/o success, tested and swapped the RAM, and run checks on the Hard Disk.G-Parted can see and partition the Hard disk , but Windows Repair disk can't see the Hard Disk.I have re-imaged this unit and it completed successfully, but when I rebooted, it BSOD'd again. There is nothing in the BIOS to change it to IDE from SATA and the self-test is reporting no errors.

Blue Screen - STOP 0x0000007B - Hard Drive Corruption

I want to downgrade the factory loaded Vista to XP pro on my Acer Aspire M5640 desktop. It reads as follows: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

"If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: "Check for viruses on your computer. After resetting it back to ATA it boots up fine. However I wanted to reformat and start clean.I placed my XP disk in, reset my BIOS to read my optical drive first and no problems. However every time I get to partition drive all I see is "Unknown Device" If I press any key I get a blue screen of death. Most times it's the 0X0000008E.

Cant Copy Files From Internal Hard Drive To External Hard Drive Using Linux

Mar 5, 2010

I have a Dell computer where one of the loading .dll files came up 'missing' one day, so it won't boot. I want to get all the photos and other docs off the hard drive. I had downloaded one version of linux and was able to see the files on the internal hard drive, but was unable to copy them to a memory stick or external hard drive. Now I've downloaded ubuntu and booted off a memory stick... this time, it's telling me that the internal hard drive has all kinds of bad sectors and won't let me access any of the files on there.

Backup Questions--got The External Drive

Feb 26, 2006

I need to learn more about backups. Bottom line is what do I do right now to make sure what I need is saved, because there's some indications that my hardware may be failing. But I want to do it right from the git-go so I don't waste a lot of time redoing things.

A) I have read the 1/26/06 thread started by cway's question--["Originally Posted by cway I am a 'Novice' to Backups, but am trying to learn..."]. It all seems to make sense to me.

B) Now I want to use what Stallcup (in that post) suggests as the 3rd option--["3) You want to avoid having to reinstall WinXP and have the quick, less labor intensive way of frequently backing up programs files and data." namely "frequently clone the system HDD to the backup HDD. In this way, if the system HDD gets corrupted, I can clone the backup HDD back to the system HDD"]

C) I have MAJOR concerns about what Bob Cerelli mentions about having outdated datafiles backed up--["...data has changed since the image was made, you will have old data restored. But a lot depends on how the computer is orgainized. For example, if just the OS and programs are on one partition which is imaged, and data on another, then restoring that first partition it will not affect data."] I have ADD-like memory problems about when I back up what, and I can't afford to overwrite new data with old...

Soooooo...
I'm planning to buy a 200gb external hard drive. Then what?

1) what software do you recommend?
a) Should I use the HP software that came with my computer? or buy something?
b) Ghost? is that Symantec?
(Can someone say more about the concerns with using that software?)
c) Does "ghosting" mean the same thing as "cloning" (in Stallcup's post--#2 above)?

2) how do I know if all my OS and programs are on one partition? (I have an HP and the hard drive is obviously partitioned into "HP_Pavilion (C)" and "HP_Recovery (D)".

I am thinking of changing to a fire wire from the USB.I have been doing a complete system backup and maybe I'll change to just backing up my documents after we get it working.

Lost Hard Drive Space And A Blue Screen

Oct 7, 2005

1.I have a dell digital jukebox mp3 player that allows for storage of data or music. I tried to copy a 600mb file from the mp3 player onto my hard drive. I had a little over 600 mb of space left on my hard drive (a total storage capacity of 6GB). It said i had run out of space. So i deleted some files, move some things around and i had 1.1 GB of space free for this transfer. i tried again and this time again the message i got was not enough space on drive c:/. So i cancelled out and checked to see what i had on my hard drive, 500mb free!!!?? So i have lost hard drive space and not gain a file...So i investigated and found that i have 1.81 GB of data on c: documents settingsuser. but once i get into user, i have 6 folders none of which display nearly that much data. They are, favorites, start menu, cookies, desktop, my documents, and a file named ntuser. the ntuser file is 1mb, and my desktop has 700 or so mb on it. So my question is how can i get back this lost hd space,

2.Blue screen. Im on xp pro sp1, i use adaware, registry mechanic, and im generally tidy with my windows; note, reinstalling windows did not solve this. I never used to have this issue, but lately when i go to open or close certain programs i jump to blue screen. it references trixdp.dll i think it was, and then "begin physical dump of memory" i must reboot at this point. I use VLC media player, and exiting this program mandates a blue screen. Just now i exited mozilla browser and this was the first time i got blue screen from this program.

When I restarted the machine I got the message "hard drive capable but disabled". There are ways to enable the drive but you need an operating system to do that. The cd rom on this machine is scsi and I am not familiar with that process. Is there a way to enable a hard drive with out the operating system? The drive is an ultra DMA-mode 4.

Blue Screen - Error Bios Code E521

May 12, 2010

I've got a problem that, if fixed, would by-pass other problems. I got a virus on one of my Dell Dimensions (E521) and figured I would simply just reformat the hard drive and do a clean install of Windows XP. I backed up all my information, put the hard drive in my second PC (E520) and reformatted the hard drive. So I ended up getting Windows XP installed on this newly reformatted hard drive by using my second computer (E520) to reformat then install using the Dell operating system disk.

I put the hard drive back into the first computer (E521) where it came from and I get this blue screen error with "Stop: 0x0000007B" I know that this means there are a lot of different things that could be going wrong, but it is mostly due to the computer not being able to load the OS from the hard drive. This is a big problem, but the bigger problem is my USB keyboard is not being recognized at start up on the first PC (E521) meaning I can't get into bios or do anything really since when the hard drive tries to load it gets this blue screen error.

I've tried updating my bios by making a bootable bios update disc and forcing my computer to start from disc by unplugging my hard drive, but it wouldn't work because I needed a keyboard to start the bios update from the disk in the dos prompt. - If there's a way to make the update start automatically it may update the bios, fix the keyboard problem, where I'll be able to get into bios and make sure the hard drive is being recognized properly. I figure if I can fix at least one of the problems I'll be able to fix the other. If I can get by the blue screen, I'll be able to get to windows and do a bios update there since the keyboard will be recognized OR if I can get the keyboard to work I'll be able to get into bios where I'll be able to fix the hard drive problem.....

Blue Screen With 0x0000007B Code Due To Electric Supply Failure

Feb 18, 2009

I had an ELECTRIC POWER FAILURE during the start of Windows 2000 Professional this morning. After it, when I try to restart my computer, it begins to load Windows, but I receive the famous blue screen. The error code is:
STOP: 0x0000007B (0x8243D030, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
I tried with F8 (last valid configuration, etc of the list), but all give the same blue screen. My repair floppy disk is from september 2007. After it, I installed a second HD for files backup and needed to put drivers for Windows recognize the bigger HD size. All worked fine until the power failure this morning. Antivirus and scan are up to date. Since I installed the driver for the bigger size HD, I cannot more boot through the floppy disk, because it not recognizes the HD. Is there anything I can do to not reinstall Windows?
