Easy To Use Program For Creating Websites
Aug 16, 2005As mentioned in another question, I need to design and maintain a website to show and sell my wife's artwork. It will be as simple as I can make it, very clean and straightforward, consisting of text and photos of the work for sale and a method of ordering and paying. So I'm essentially looking for a program without a lot of bells and whistles--a program that will make the process as easy as possible for me. I'm a very senior citizen and although I can slowly make my way around in this business, I'm not much of a computer whiz.

Jan 16, 2006My caps lock on my keyboard works in complete reverse. with the "caps lock" on all of the letters are in small caps and when it is off all of the letters are in large caps. also my shift keys do not work. With the caps lock on the periods and commas give me "larger than" and "smaller than". the only way to get a period is to go to the "numeric keyboard. also I can"t reset the cursor when I try to go back to an earlier place it highlights the words in my folders I am unable to choose only one file When I click on a file it highlights every file from the beginning of the list to the one I have chosen.

Sep 28, 2007Every shortcut that I have placed on my desktop will not open the website that it is linked to. When I click the icon, it starts to open the website, but then locks & will not open. All icons will open except the ones that I have added that link to things like fantasy football sites or game sites etc. I am running windows XP on a Dell laptop.

Dec 30, 2005I recently installed Nero software for burning DVD's and aparently I gave the software permission to open all icons under Nero instead of where they opened from before. When I go to my icon folder to choose an icon, instead of seeing all of the icons I have placed, there, all I see is about 100 Nero icons.Could uninstall Nero and I suppose that would correct the problem.

Jul 12, 2010I have a PC with Windows XP and for some reason, many of my program icons changed to the icon of another program. This is my Mom's computer and lord only knows how this happened, but for example, when I click start > all programs > microsoft office > word, it's icon is not the word icon, but the icon for another program on the computer. It is like this all over the place.When I click on word, it starts opening the program that is associated with the icon and not word. Any idea why this may be happening and how I can fix it? I tried right-clicking on the program > properties, but the find target button is grayed out so I can't change the program it's associated with.

Sep 18, 2005The pc is xp sp2... apon latest restart all icons on desktop and start menu all go to the same program a solitaire game. tried avg and even restore but something has blocked all but this one program. restore reads systam restore log missing but i can get to it, it seems to be blocked also. internet reachable through open with/choose other program and can check mail but thats about it. anyone know if theres a new bug out there doing this do i now have a 1200 dollar solitaire machine.

Now, as expected, my "H" extension files have my text editors icon next to their names and when I double-click on an "H" extension file, the file opens in my favorite text editor. All good so far.Next, I created a new "File Type" for file extension "C" (C source files) and changed the "Open with" setting to that of my favorite text editor. When I double-click on a "C" file, the file opens in my favorite text editor as expected, however, the "C" files icon has not changed to that of my text editor and when I close & re-open the "File Types" dialog I do not see the "C" extension entry at all.

Could anyone give me step by step details on how to do this. I have tried ghost boot wizard (need a floppy).I have tried Disk to Image and then Image to Disk. I wiped out all that was on the 1st drive (C) and Partition (D) and all that was on the 2nd drive (E). I don't know how it happened but it did. However, it appears that you may not be able to do so unless you have an XP Operating System CD. Most computers come without such a creature unfortunately and neither of my systems have them.
Is it possible to create such a Recovery disk using the OS Recovery CD which came with my Compaq/HP laptop?Or else, is it possible to copy just the SP2 plus all other Microsoft downloads without having to manually execute each and every file?
Creating Sub Folders With Batch File
May 29, 2005I am trying to write a batch file that will create subfolders based on the name of the parent folder. So if the folder that I am working in is named "dg2001-10-19" then I want the batch file to create 3 subfolders named "dg2001-10-19 - WTA", "dg2001-10-19 - BHMM" and "dg2001-10-19 - files". In the other folders that I am working in I want it to work the same way - for a folder named "disc" it would create "disc - WTA", "disc - BHMM" and "disc - files" and place them in the disc folder. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. I realize that this is probably a simple thing but I am not very familiar with programming or batch files.

Dec 24, 2007I installed Deepfreeze because I mess up the registry a lot on my computer and instead of paying to get it fixed all the time, I thought Deepfreeze was a good idea. I found out the hard way that when Deepfreeze says it restores your computer back to baseline, it really means that. I lost all my work I made because Deepfreeze got rid of it. I heard that you have to make a virtual thawspace to save your date without it being annuled. Can somebody give me the documentation on how to do that? Or has anybody ever done this before?
