If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver". I updated the driver. Still can't hibernate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter I updated to sp2 and other updates via auto update and went to WMP 10, I noticed that the new DVD+RW's I bought the other day are not excepting a format or allowing me to erase them. Out of the box they are initially recognized by XP Pro, then when formating with nero they lock up during finalizing and I have to reboot. At this point the disk, after reboot is not recognized and seems to be in an endless loop or check mode state. I have, I think , 6 damaged so far. I am afraid to experiment and thought RW disks could be at least erased and reused but XP can't see the RW media and this does not let me use any other app to erase or reformat. Any ideas or registry fixes out there?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just received a pop-up without any way of closing it. This is bizarre to me. It is staying on top of all open files and is waiting for me to approve the update. It reads this way: (Blue column to the left with an eye-shaped logo and the word Viewpoint. The white section to the right says: You have been Updated. Your Viewpoint Media Player was recently updated with the latest components to enhance your web viewing. A new browser update is recommended, including advanced pop-up blocking and graphically enhanced search. Then there is a clickable button saying "Update" Below that there is a note that says: Note: There is NO Restart required. It gives another clickable button that says More Info and a line that says Who is Viewpoint? This takes you to a description which includes the "fact" that they are a NASDAQ company that provides internet graphics and delivery technology to Fortune 500 companies including AOL, GE, GM, etc. This did not make me feel better.

View 13 Replies View RelatedWindows XP, recently updated, ZoneAlarm, Firefox recently updated, IE6. WebSweeper runs in the background, Windows Firewall is on, I have a router and a modem router.I've reinstalled ZA from scratch before, and of course have run numerous updates, and have never had a problem, until now. This started with some visitors. I created a 'visitors' limited account, and put it in just the 'guest' group. A teenager has had use of the computer. Now, she's mature for her age (14) and her computer use was monitored, so I don't think she did anything intentionally, if she did anything at all.Problem started when one of the adults had the system freeze on her, twice. Once with IE, the other with Firefox. Both times Firefox was up with whatever the teenager had up (beebo?), another window or tab with something else the adult was doing, and msn.com - hotmail - was reported to me as "hotmail froze".

I just updated everything. My mobo drivers, my bios, my video drivers, my audio, everything. As soon as i updated my bios my computer reset for no reason and then it sounded like it was loading up but nothing happened. I turned off and tried again, the fan turned on the cd rom was spinning but no POST, no beeps. The only way it works is if I pull the power cord out for like 5 secs so that the light on the mobo goes out. Then I put it back in and it works but after I shut it off again it does the same thing
View 11 Replies View RelatedEarly last week I ran a Windows update on my Compaq SR1625NX and upon restart it would not boot Windows. I tried "last good configuration", "debug mode" and "safe mode" to no avail. It always restarts while booting Windows. I tried both the built-in "recovery console" and the recovery discs I bought from HP/Compaq upon the advise of an online support person. When loading the recovery console either way the blue screen pops up and tells me there is a problem with the "ntfs.sys" file.
