View 14 RepliesWell i built my pc along with my friend at the end of April. I have had it for several months now. After i first built it, it ran just fine for about a month then BSOD started to occur. I researched on the internet and i found a post that said to post my minidump so that they can see it. When i searched for the minidump it wasnt there, my final solution was to reformat. I reformatted and the problem went a away.

I have been trying to make some family clips and found ou that windows XP brings Movie Maker. I have Windows XP Home eddition. I tried to look in the Accesories/Entertaiment/ folder for the Movie Maker, but it's not there. I went to add/remove windows components, but there is no option to add movie maker. I thought I did not have the software so I went to the xp windows microsoft downloads and look for the movie maker. I tried to down load the package that brings this software but it run and applation to check if I required the download, but it was already installed. So it looks like that it's already installed, but I don't know how to acces it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been wanting to purchase a smart phone or a pda, so I may review, answer emails and check internet sites while I am out of my home office. I have been told that pda's are slow. My current carrier is Cingular, and I do like the Treo 650 and don't mind paying $350 but the monthly charges are horrendous $45 for an unlimited data connect this is beyond your monthly voice charge. I am looking for alternative and I am willing to change carrier but don't know who to go with for less expensive charges. With technology where its at, I thought I'd be able to be constantly on, a la Dick Tracy through my watch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI run win xp and have a nokia phone. all other folders on the phone seem to me accessable, but this one, and all non phone folders aswell. This would indicate a phone problem, but for old times sake I blame windows. Also, if there are other alternatives to windows explorer that would be a very efficient way to find out if there is any blame to be guided towards windows.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung VI660 phone for which I bought a data cable. I installed the drivers to give it the ability to act as a modem, and I'm able to connect to a dial up internet account using the cell phone as a modem. The problem is, I can't seem to get it send faxes, and I'm not sure if there is anyway to do this. I thought if the cell phone could handshake and establish an internet connection, it should also be able to handshake to establish a modem-fax connection. I confirmed that the fax machine I'm trying to send to is giving a handshake when the number is called. When I attempt to fax using the cell phone, I can see it dialing out, but it never establishes a connection.

I have rdwc working great using my laptop computer to access my work computer over the internet......after some small problems with set up.I do this using my DSL internet connection, however, when I try to connect using my cell phone internet connection it just times out.....never connects. The cell phone is accessing other internet sites fine. It just won't get to my work computer. I have checked the settings and they seem fine (firewall, router, etc..).
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne thing is that whenever I plug in Camera/Cell Phone/PDA (except Flash drive ), it does not show up in My computer as a Removable disk. However I can see that removable drive letter from that little green arrow Icon from Start Menu Bar. I tried hitting that Drive letter in address bar. didn't work. I don't know what the problem could be. So I thought let me install SP3. cannot be installed because I have Latest remote desktop and MUI (something) update in my computer. If I want to install SP3, I'd have to remove that first.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhat I want to do is this:
When I go to START>RUN>"msconfig">startup tab I have many listed entries that I know are no longer needed on my computer, but have yet to find a way to delete them.
For example: My mom wanted me to download this TalkingBuddy program for my son, I did it, thought it was stupid so I uninstalled it. To me all components should be removed from the computer. However, when I go to START>RUN>"msconfig">startup tab I still see an entry for TalkingBuddy that can be checked to run at startup.
There are several other entries like this that I know I don't need and would like to know how to remove them. I also suspect that there might be some entries on there that look like they are needed but actually belong to other uninstalled or deleted programs.
Secondly, if anyone knows how to find and remove files that go to programs that linger around after you have uninstalled the program can you please tell me how to do that also. By this I mean for instance, that I have uninstalled Norton and now use Mcaffee, but there are still files that belong to symantec on my computer. I suspect that there are many other useless files from programs no longer on my computer that can also be deleted as well.
I dont know where the ethernet card is is it the one where the phone line go's or not i have a dell
