Mar 7, 2007
WMPNSCFG.exe of Windows Media Player 11 Will NOT DIE!!!!
I have done the following:
1. disabled it in MSCONFIG
2. checked it in SERVICES.MSC and it is disabled
3. ran highjack this and removed the 04 wmpnscfg.exe from the list
4. Deleted wmpsncfg.exe and the wmpnssci.dll from the cprogram fileswindows media player.
and the thing still is in msconfig startup after i opened and closed Windows Media player,so has anyone been able to totally remove this crap form startup?
I use WMP for everything but dont need all that other crap running i dont even have a network cable connected to my pc.
dose anyone know of a good all in 1 media player i could try instead?
No wonder you need a newer pc to run windows Vista, Microsoft puts so much crap in there programs and OS that even when its disabled or windows says it is ....... it still runs !!
3 months ago I installed Service Pak2. Prior to the installation Windows Media Player9 had been running flawlessly on my system. After Installation, however I have been totally unable to get Windows Media Player to open. I downloaded Version 10 of Windows Media Player and installed it but again I was unable to get it to open. I cleared all traces of WMP from registry and turned off system restore and then re installed WMP10. Still would not open and the system will not permit me to use version 9 anymore.
I cannot play DVDs or DVD files in WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10. It worked fine before, now nothing. When I go to try and play a DVD or file, I get the following message:Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. Open Display in Control Panel, and then lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. To view the DVD Troubleshooter, click More Information.
Downloaded SP2 for Windows XP Home and immediately lost all video (not audio) in both Real Player and Windows Media Player. Removed each of these and reloaded "fresh" version - same problem. Then removed SP2 and presto - video returns.
Having recently had someone else using my computer for a while, installing various software (like winamp and SubEdit player) it seems windows media player (that's what I use) no longer recognises the usual files as media files like .mp3 .wmv .m3u .avi etc etc so when I click open file and select "media files (all types)" in the file type box it shows nothing, so I have to change it to all files which is irritating. Media player still plays everything fine but this is pretty annoying.
each time i try and error message appears: "gdiplus.dll is missing".what can i do to fix the problem? iv already tried downloading the software from the microsoft website but the same message came up.iv also searched my pc for the gdipus.dll file and loads come up!
I get this every time I try to open a media file even when I click "always use selected program" This just started happening a few days ago after I ran a bunch of registry cleaners.
Well i built my pc along with my friend at the end of April. I have had it for several months now. After i first built it, it ran just fine for about a month then BSOD started to occur. I researched on the internet and i found a post that said to post my minidump so that they can see it. When i searched for the minidump it wasnt there, my final solution was to reformat. I reformatted and the problem went a away.
For months I had no problem ripping cd's and playing the music on WMP10. Suddenly the system will no longer do either. Clicking on any of the listed songs results in other music playing which, obviously was not affected. I might add that listed number of times previously played were all erased. Has a new policeman for copyrighted music shown up somehow?
When I insert an audio CD into my CD ROM drive it plays automatically and then I do not know which media player plays the CD. I have WMP,iTunes,GoldWave,Realplayer and quick Time in my Entertainment folder.Task manager does not indicate as to which application or process is being used for audio.I would like to know which program/application is in use at the time the CD is playing. Besides I do not want to disable the autoplay of the CD.
At some point, in the last week, or so, I started to download this program. Within seconds, my computer froze. I could not back out of the download or even shut down from the START menu. I had to do so manually.Ever since, I see two boxes on Start-up: one says "TrayApp" and asks me to insert a CD-rom disk to access the program. Another says "Error 1706" and that no valid source can be found for TrayApp product. Every so often, I see a screen asking me to insert a disk for Viewpoint Media Player. My CD-rom drive is not functioning, so I couldn't do that, in any case, even if I had the disk.
Whenever I attempt to use Windows Media Player 10, I can see a picture but can't hear any sound. My speakers are still working as I've checked various sites and viewed clips and could hear sound with no problem. I am using Windows XP. How can I fix this?
My windows media player will play all of my files just fine. But when i insert a dvd it will play but it has no sound. I have checked all the obvious things like my volume control and my volumes nothing is muted i dont know why it wont play sound. I have also tried different dvd's.
do I have to buy a dvd decoder to ba able to play DVDs with windows meadia player 11 ? if not. where can I download a decoder that works with wmp 11 ? I have been searching all day with no luck.
1. Make a folder of your favorite artist and copy audio files to that folder.2. Rename any '.jpg' file to folder.jpg. Resize to 200 x 200.3. Copy and rename the folder.jpg to AlbumArtSmall.jpg. Resize to 75 x 75.The Album Art will now adjust automatically to fit the now playing window in Full Mode.* You can use the 'Resize Picture' included in the WinXP Powertoys for resizing.
Having trouble creating mp3 cd's with windows media player10. I have tried most everything,so i assume i can't see the forest for the trees.i have winxp pro, lots of ram, hard disk.
Where are the temp internet files for WMP 10 located at? When you watch a video clip on the internet in IE 6, can you save the file? Seems like i could with real player in the temp folder.
I use Windows Media Player 10 as my primary media player. But I like to keep Real Player and QuickTime quietly waiting in the wings and call upon them occasionally. Well, I got the latest version of the Real player and clipped its wings so it wouldn't take over every audio and video file i have. Then downloaded the latest QuickTime player (after uninstalling the old one.) Every time an attempt is made to install the QuickTime player after 11 or so seconds into the process it stops and gives me this little message: "1607: Unable to install Installshield Scripting Runtime."
I cannot seem to find any codec other than 3vix to play these m4a files. That was fine until the demo ran out. Is there a free codec or am I forced to buy a codec (just seems principly wrong). Or maybe some kind of converter?
I was using my machine without any problems and decided to upgrade media player to version 10. I then installed the latest updates from microsoft and restarted. Now everytime I try and use internet explorer or media player I get a window open up that states that the programs have encoutered a problem and that I can send an error report or dont send. if i click on the dont send option the program shuts down. I can pull the error message away from the explorer window and still use interent explorer but this isnt right. It only seems to have started since the updates were installed.
I just received a pop-up without any way of closing it. This is bizarre to me. It is staying on top of all open files and is waiting for me to approve the update. It reads this way: (Blue column to the left with an eye-shaped logo and the word Viewpoint. The white section to the right says: You have been Updated. Your Viewpoint Media Player was recently updated with the latest components to enhance your web viewing. A new browser update is recommended, including advanced pop-up blocking and graphically enhanced search. Then there is a clickable button saying "Update" Below that there is a note that says: Note: There is NO Restart required. It gives another clickable button that says More Info and a line that says Who is Viewpoint? This takes you to a description which includes the "fact" that they are a NASDAQ company that provides internet graphics and delivery technology to Fortune 500 companies including AOL, GE, GM, etc. This did not make me feel better.
I have a new company supplied laptop running XP sp1. Media Player is "locked Down" so that I can't change skins or rip cd's for my mp3 player is there a way to unlock this so I can use all the features of wmp?
when i click on start > all programs there are 2 icons that read DESKTOP that are exactly the same but just one is larger then the other. I had a TV/ FM card installed. I got it to work. I tested the dvd/cd player with a music cd. Windows Media Player10 ran through its setup but no music. I lost sound to the tv/fm radio. I looked in device manager but didn't see any yellow marks.
My Windows media player is not working. The online video is also not working. It's showing "cannot create directshow player". Also there is problem with my internet explorer. The Javascript is not working IE. The javascript option is enabled in internet options. On Experts advise from forums I tried registering javscript dll but it fails to register. I think due to some related problem with this the the texts typing in Yahoo mesenger is also not visible.
When I play a DVD or MP3 with Windows Media Player 11 (WinXPproSP2) the movie plays but there is no sound. There is audio if I use WinDVD or Real Player so it is not a hardware problem.
