Trusted Site Other Then Internet Options
Mar 22, 2005I was wondering, where in the Reg are the trusted sites listed, also is there any other way to add a trusted site other then Internet Options.

No Internet Search Or Trusted Pop Up
Apr 22, 2005I've been getting a message from 'startup mechanic' to advise me that program 'uuespo' c:windows/system32/uuespo.exe is attempting to run at system startup. I checked the description and it's meant to be a nuisance program that changes your IE homepage so I disabled it and deleted the file from the above path. when I right click 'start' and 'search' nothing happens, the same with left click 'start' 'search'. If I right click a folder in windows explorer and select 'search' nothing happens, but I can open windows explorer, then select search,but this only allows me to search the whole drive. So in my haste I deleted 'uuespo.exe' from the recycle bin. The program still seems to be install somewhere tho and startup mechanic is still flashing up messages telling me it's trying to register at startup. I'm also having problems within Internet explorer since this all started, in that it won't open pop-up screens from trusted sites.

When I click on the downloads link,or access C/net downloads from my favourites, I get an error box saying, Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Or the page just disappears after a few seconds. Everything else on the C/net site works ok eg homepage etc. It is not my firewall, because I turned the firewall off, and it still did the same.

I remember clicking something having to do with the content on this page being "unsigned," but I haven't been able to find a way to fix the problem. When I've cleared cookies, history, cache, files, and unchecked all security everywhere, I sometimes can access the Web site until I close the browser and re-open it (even with no changes made), but the images and links are still blocked in my hotmail.

Everyone can connect to the new host and view my web site except for me. The only way I can connect and view my web site is if I go to it through a proxy. I tried flushing the cache. I tried clearing the temporary internet files and history. I tried disabling the negative caching through the registry. I tried restarting the dns client service.

In my ZoneAlarm Firewall program control, I have 'Generic Host Process Win32 Services' SVCHOST.exe as a very high trust level. The settings look like this:
Access
Trusted - Yes
Internet - Yes
Server
Trusted - Yes
Internet - No
As for 'LSA (Shell Export Version)' LSASS.exe it also has a very high trust level and the following settings:
Access
Trusted - Yes
Internet - Yes
Server
Trusted - Ask user
Internet - Ask user
Are these settings correctly configured?
Trusted Sites List For Security Configuration
Dec 14, 2006I went to a lot of trouble establishing a list of Trusted Sites in my security configuration. Now every time I want to enter one of these sites, windows tells me that one of my trusted sites (identifying it) wants to enter, should I let it? Does anyone know why this happens - what is the point of making a list if I am being asked anyway each time.

I have Windows XP x64 bit on one of the HDD, and I have bought a new HDD,I would like to install the same operating system on the new HDD,how do I do it? Just plug-in the new HDD and install a new OS on it?Or do I need to detach one and then install the os on the new one?
I can't find in the internet information about installing the same OS on different HDD only about different OS.
Internet Options Won't Open
Jul 23, 2010Internet Options won't open in Windows Xp Pro Sp3 from Control Panel or anywhere else. I have checked SYSTEM32 and there is inetcpl (control panel extension file) and inetcplc.dll. I have tried opening Internet Options in Run, no luck. I have also run a VB script written by someone on the web to Remove Internet Restriction. Didn't work.Here is the error message I get when trying to open Internet Options from within Internet Explorer 8 (I usually use Firefox BTW, the latest, and this update was two days ago.

Nov 6, 2007The blue one day I cannot access Internet Options from the tools menu in IE7 on Vista Ultimate. I also cannot open Internet options from the control panel. When I click on it nothing happens. I tried to run Spybot. I tried running IE7 as administrator and it says: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. I checked and IE7 has full permissions and no restrictions. I am also logged in as an administrator. I tried sfc /scannow in an elivated command prompt and it said it found errors but couldn't fix them. I also ran system restore and it cannot restore anything no matter what date I choose. Can anyone explain what suddenly happened to my Vista out of the blue? I run the latest Mcafee by the way.

Dec 27, 2008I'm trying to set my desktop up as computer that would allow others to connect through it. The desktop is upstairs and connects wirelessly to my router downstairs. I've loooked at some guides that explain how to set it up for sharing and they say to right click the connection, then go to properties, then advanced tab, and there will be the options for internet connection sharing. However, there are no options there that relate to "Internet Connection Sharing" only Windows Firewall with a "Settings" button.
