Is there any way that I can have my laptop, when powering up, automatically launch Internet Explorer and display the Home Page of my website on CD or from the Hard Drive?

I use Google as my home page and lately I been having intermittent problems with it. When I open my internet explorer, it says "Internet Explorer cannot display page". It's not my internet connect because if I type in an address other than my home page in the URL bar it will open. My AOL works too. After hitting the home button a few times, my home page, Google will open. But after awhile surfing the net, when I hit the home button, I get that message again that it can't display page. Right now as I type this, I hit the home page button and it says cannot display page so I hit the back arrow and I come back to this page and I can continue typing and I can send this thread. What's wrong with my home page "Google"?

One quick way to speed up launching internet explorer is to not set a home page.By using a blank home page internet explorer does not have to use additional cpu time and uses the hard drive less.After all most of the time you want to go to a different site right away so it is not going to affect your productivity at all
View 9 Replies View Relatedexplorer kept hanging and crashing so I decided to uninstall Explorer 7, when I did, it never completed the uninstall. Said some files weren't found and couldn't complete it. NOW I cant get it to load at all the only browser I can get to work is the one on my real player. When it tries to launch I get this box that comes up and says c:WINDOWS/system32cmdexe I cant get the sytem restore to work either. Tho every scan I've run syas the system is fine. IT is not obviously. I am running XP home edition service pack2, with all the latest updates

When I click on the downloads link,or access C/net downloads from my favourites, I get an error box saying, Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Or the page just disappears after a few seconds. Everything else on the C/net site works ok eg homepage etc. It is not my firewall, because I turned the firewall off, and it still did the same.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI can't change my homepage anymore it's stuck at this stupid video renting site and also i can't listen to any audio in web pages or any other program except windows media player and i've noticed when i'm on warcraft 3 i can't only hear background music and clicking sounds but no battling or speech audio that's really weird and i've set the proper volumes in the game already so i don't know what's going on also, i'm using symantec antivirus corporate edition and spyware doctor but they were both recently been unable to protect my computer in real time when b4 it was always ON and protecting my computer, now i can only scan computer with those programs (i have not changed the settings on these programs and it still says real time protection is enabled).

View 4 Replies View RelatedSome time ago, I must have inadvertently "pushed a button" and the page size for Internet Explorer changed from "normal" to "magnified". I can't figure out how to change it back. Going into control panel and changing the screen resolution size has absolutely no effect. (I never re-adjusted the screen size anyway). It's so annoying to have to constantly work the page bars up and down, back and forth! I think the same thing has happened to AOL.

I am running windows server 2003 and from a few days my internet explorer is not working whenever i open any website it redirect me to http://browser-security.microsoft.com/block.php?r=20.0 and shows a page not found error which comes when your net is not connected sometimes it loads only first page of any website and as soon as i click some link it again redirects to this url. can any one tell me what could be the problem and how to fix it i scanned system for spyware virus but found nothing.
