All mail from this site has images blocked and most links not working, and I can't access the Web site in Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Netscape browsers suddenly. However, if I read my email or try to access the site on another computer, everything is fine. I remember clicking something having to do with the content on this page being "unsigned," but I haven't been able to find a way to fix the problem. When I've cleared cookies, history, cache, files, and unchecked all security everywhere, I sometimes can access the Web site until I close the browser and re-open it (even with no changes made), but the images and links are still blocked in my hotmail.

I change the name servers and they have propgated because I checked the DNS on a DNS report website and the domain name points to the new host. Everyone can connect to the new host and view my web site except for me. The only way I can connect and view my web site is if I go to it through a proxy. I tried flushing the cache. I tried clearing the temporary internet files and history. I tried disabling the negative caching through the registry. I tried restarting the dns client service.

Do I need to be a licensed builder?? Im not building it for someone else, just for me. Whats with the OPK. Can I just install it as a OS? I may have bought the wrong one but the comment in NewEgg from people who bought it gave me the impression it was for a single licensed user. I called Microsoft but they didn't know. The rep suggested I return it just in case it won't work. My fear is that when I go to OPK they will want a builders license which I don't have.

He hasn't got his set up disc and adding the hard drive to another pc as a slave drive didn't work. I have used Bart's PE Builder to save files from a pc before but the disc was made from XP Pro. Lets pretend i'm buying this Here are my questions: How many times am I allowed to install this on the same pc (same hardware)? Does it allow upgrading major parts within the PC without requiring a new license each time? Can I install it on multiple PC's without requiring a new license each time? I don't care much about MS support not being included, but is it still available if i chose to pay for it?
If I sold my PC I could sell the license with it (transferrable) is this true? Would I need to re-purchase a license when I build a new PC if I transferred it already.
I'm building a new machine for a friend using WinXP Pro system builder's edition. It is my understanding that this edition can only be installed on a single machine - and even changing the hard drive or major hardware component will de-activate it. In the process of trying to fix a BIOS issue, the dang thing reset the SATA controller from the RAID 1 I had setup back to normal SATA. I finally got that fixed - but it somewhat hosed the Windows install - it wants to do diskcheck every time it boots and always find some errors - but if I bypass the diskcheck it boots fine - but there are other problems. if the system builders edition can be reinstalled on the exact same machine with the exact same hardware - or would I have to buy yet another copy?

It will boot from the CD, copy setup files, partition the drive, and then Windows does it's automatic restart which it will do fine, but when it is restarted it says " Resuming setup...." and then the screen goes black and stays that way. As i'm constantly having to walk people through basic tasks i would like to be able to just tell them to start a specific program then let me connect and do all the work. I have tried with windows own remote assistance but half of the time i can't even connect. I have over 150 sytems built and running, hence this software can't cost a lot. I want to install the server side on all these sytems then i can connect remotely from my Client side and carry out basic tasks... ie editing startup registry etc Anyone know of any good free software for this... i've looked at some software but to install on so many machines would cost a fortune.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am trying to restore an HP PC that shipped with XP Home OEM. The restore disk is damaged and a few files in the i386 folder are unreadable. My ultimate goal is to reinstall XP home without purchasing another license because technically I still own the license, but the CD is damaged.
My question is. Is there a difference between the OEM version the HP used and the OEM version that I purchased with hardware? Is it possible to install my OEM version with the serial number on the PC?
I was also pondering trying to recreate the disk by replacing the damaged files in i386 folder with files from another version of home OEM using nlite.

When I go to windows update on the start menu I get sent to www.msn.com.Also when I click on Microsoft update it just grinds and grinds.Also when I go to the windows updates web page and try to download something manually it validates my machine and presents a clickable download button. When I click on it I get a very small windows pop up that says page not found.I can not download anything off of Microsoft's site.When I go to update superantivirus I get an error that says "There is an error trying to retrieve definitions" "Make sure your firewall is not blocking superantispyware.exe from accessing Internet"When I go to update adaware I get can' find Internet connection.

Today I wanted to send a New Years E-card but upon revisiting the site, I found I couldn't view any of the cards and got a blank screen with a small red 'x' in the top left-hand corner. I refreshed the screen but no joy. Then I altered security levels to minimum to see if that'd fix things - it didn't so I altered them back to default.
Ever since installing SP2, I am unable to connect to an FTP site via Internet Explorer. The only time I can connect is to turn off the firewall. Is there a way I can resolve this issue? I want to be able to connect to an FTP site without turning off the firewall.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I open my internet explorer 8, I go to my home page (www.Windstream.net), I am only able to see the top part of the web-page, above the green line. All the news clips and data on the rest of the page do not appear. When I go to www.MSN.com or www.YAHOO.com, both pages appear as they normally show.
When I go to my bank's web-site, and try to login to do my online banking, the pop-up login fails to appear.
Another example is when I go to www.ADOBE.com, and select the "downloads" tab, then Adobe Reader, the page goes to the right place, but the yellow bar asking for permission to install Active-X never appears, and the pop-up that tells me to click here to begin download never appears.I am running AVG9.0 (free version) and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware I tried removing IE8, which put me back at IE6, but I had the same problem. SO I downloaded and installed a fresh copy of IE8, but I have the same loss of data on my screens. This happens in IE6 and IE8, so I suspect that I am over-looking something obvious.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen my windows xp boots up...everything starts up except that the yahoo and msn messengers as well as the broadband connection dialin link doesnt works till like a minute or so after windows has got booted...it seems like the windows waits for something to load for about a minute and then after a minute the hard drive shows some activity and yahoo,msn and the broadband link comes up and i can only dial the link then...this 1 minute wait for the connection to be connected is really annoying me...from the task manager i c that 2 services imapi.exe,alg.exe and wmiserve.exe starts up after the freezing time of the windows and then net connection gets connected...if u want any more details i will let you know.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T mail account and they recently paired with Yahoo on their homepage. My Outlook Express in Windows XP worked with my account fine for years until yesterday. I had to change the names of the servers to: pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com. The port settings are the same 465 and 995. Also, my password is the same. The problem is when I try to receive or send mail, Outlook Express repeatedly asks me to enter my username and password for the servers. The password box is checked on the logon box that comes up repeatedly but not highlighted. What am I overlooking?

a) my yahoo messenger is not working properly, (i cannot see the text messages send and received, the other person can)..the chat window is empty...even though i can make and receive pc-pc calls.
b) my windows media player doesnt open. no error is shown but it simply doesnt open... when ever i try to watch something online, which uses media player buffering, it shows "cannot create direct show player"...
another error that pops up is "fail to load control from wmp.dll"
c) Limewire used to work fine and suddenly it stopped working.
d) my internet explorer doesnt display the "download" buttons on websites. shows some javascript void error something in the status bar below.
I tried formatting my system and re-installed everything, it was working fine for few days and then again it went back to the previous state. I have installed Norton 360, and Avast nothing detects any virus...i've installed the latest ver of java..I am using a lenovo laptop with WinXP SP2 (2002 Ver), Intel Centrino duo 1.7 ghz, 1gb ram.
