I really liked but can't seem to find the same for Firefox which is what I mostly use. In IE, under explorer bars, you have the option of yahoo messenger. So, it slaps your messenger window as the lefthand side like a bookmark or history eplorer bar. Problem is this: I can't find the same thing for Firefox.
I've been facing a lot of problems, a) my yahoo messenger is not working properly, (i cannot see the text messages send and received, the other person can)..the chat window is empty...even though i can make and receive pc-pc calls. b) my windows media player doesnt open. no error is shown but it simply doesnt open... when ever i try to watch something online, which uses media player buffering, it shows "cannot create direct show player"... another error that pops up is "fail to load control from wmp.dll" c) Limewire used to work fine and suddenly it stopped working. d) my internet explorer doesnt display the "download" buttons on websites. shows some javascript void error something in the status bar below. I tried formatting my system and re-installed everything, it was working fine for few days and then again it went back to the previous state. I have installed Norton 360, and Avast nothing detects any virus...i've installed the latest ver of java..I am using a lenovo laptop with WinXP SP2 (2002 Ver), Intel Centrino duo 1.7 ghz, 1gb ram. Please help me guys, my comp is really really annoying!
I'm sure if you've used Yahoo! Messenger you've noticed the adverts built in to the chat and webcam services. Here's a simple fix and it works great. Simply download http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/noads.exe & http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/noads.jpg and save them to a directory. Run the noads.exe file and then start up Yahoo! Don't delete the files after you save them or it'll stop working. Don't worry about the .exe extension, it just points Yahoo to that tiny noads.jpg and replaces the ads with it.
Everytime i try to install yahoo messenger there is a "Windows Installer" error msg... It says Incorrect command line parameters.Windows installer. V 2.00.2600.110 Portions of this software are based in part on the work of the independent jpeg group.
I am the administrator of the computer but I have child logons for my kids. I want Yahoo messenger to open at startup for me but not for them. How do I get it to stop starting up when they logon byt keep starting up when I logon YM doesn't appear to have this as a preference.
I am wondering if there is a way in windows nt to hide the systray icons. Or hide the Yahoo Messenger systray icon. I would donate if someone provided the resolution for my question.
I can't remember what I done a few years ago when I had an issue with XP and Yahoo Mess. When Yahoo Messenger is started it goes to a java download. But when it is installed it doesnt work. My friend is having the same problem I had. This is now on a Dell computer with Macafee and xp of course.
I have a friends computer.... it has some spyware... bloodhound i think.. anyway im trying to put adaware6 on it to scan the spyware and i usually transfer it by zipped file in yahoo or msn messenger...well it wont work.. when i transfer the file its not a zipped folder so.. i thought i would try downloading something off the net everytime i try i get a message that says security will not allow me to download from this file well... i need to know what settings to change so that i can and a good safe spyware would be nice too... this thing is getting errors constantly and the desktop background has changed too i am planning on putting norton2005 on it too but that doesnt get rid of spyware does it?
Since reinstalling XP my minimized windows are not side by side on the task bar any longer there are two arrows which usually means they are in a list but they aren't, they just stack up on top of each other with only one icon which I have to keep clicking to resume the page I want to view.
I have been getting the above message recently i click 'don't send' and the windows kind of closes and refreshes and i can still open stuff. now the problem is affecting things like msn messenger which has 'encountered a problem' two or three times now and needs to close. i ran a virus scan and got nothing. It just happens at random times and is pretty much happening everytime i turn on the laptop at some stage.
I am running Windows XP on a HP Pavilion ze2000.I think I have a problem with Windows Live Messenger. Actually, I think I have several problems: 1. Messenger tries to load in my tray when I start the computer. It never did this before. It also does the same when I connect to my broadband via dialler. At the moment I am denying access through Zone Alarm. Is this normal? 2. In All Programmes I have a Windows Messenger Icon and a Windows Live Messenger Icon. Again, is this normal? There is only an option to remove Live Messenger in Add or Remove Programmes. 3. There is a "1 contact pending" message above the contact list in my Live Messenger, which leads to a "page not available" message when I click on it. 3. When I close Live Messenger, I get multiple "RPC Server Not Available" warnings which I keep closing but keep reappearing. They appear too fast for me to close them, so I have to restart my machine.

The date quit showing when I hovered the cursor on the clock. While playing around with it the entire Start, taskbar, notification, and clock ended up on right side of the screen. While trying to fix it, it disappeared. I rebooted and it came back on the right side. How do I get it back on the bottom? Once back on bottom (hopefully), how do I get the date to show (it's hidden under systray. I can see a small sliver peeking up)?

when my windows xp boots up...everything starts up except that the yahoo and msn messengers as well as the broadband connection dialin link doesnt works till like a minute or so after windows has got booted...it seems like the windows waits for something to load for about a minute and then after a minute the hard drive shows some activity and yahoo, msn and the broadband link comes up and i can only dial the link then...this 1 minute wait for the connection to be connected is really annoying me...from the task manager i c that 2 services imapi.exe,alg.exe and wmiserve.exe starts up after the freezing time of the windows and then net connection gets connected...if u want any more details i will let you know.

On the left hand side of my desktop is a big blue bar. It is about 2 and a half inches wide ( from left to right) and goes from the top of my screen to the bottom where the start menu is. I have tried everything I can think of and have been unable to get rid of it. Does anyone know how to remove this. I even tried in msconfig.
I'm getting ready to reinstall XP Home on a Dell Dimension 2400 and when I run SIW, Everest and Belarc they all come up with the same Windows 25 character product key. But when I look at the sticker on the side of the tower there's a different product key. Why are the keys different and which one should I use?
I do not know what the bar is called but it is the bar that is usually at the bottom of the screen. It has the running programs in it and other things. Some how it moved from the bottom of the screen to the left side of my screen going up and down. I need to put it back to the bottom of the screen
