Switch Web Site Hosts: Everyone See My Site But I Can See It Through Proxy?
Feb 9, 2008
I just switch hosts for one of my web sites. I change the name servers and they have propgated because I checked the DNS on a DNS report website and the domain name points to the new host. Everyone can connect to the new host and view my web site except for me. The only way I can connect and view my web site is if I go to it through a proxy. I tried flushing the cache. I tried clearing the temporary internet files and history. I tried disabling the negative caching through the registry. I tried restarting the dns client service.

I inadvertently blocked a Web site on my home computer. All mail from this site has images blocked and most links not working, and I can't access the Web site in Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Netscape browsers suddenly. However, if I read my email or try to access the site on another computer, everything is fine. I remember clicking something having to do with the content on this page being "unsigned," but I haven't been able to find a way to fix the problem. When I've cleared cookies, history, cache, files, and unchecked all security everywhere, I sometimes can access the Web site until I close the browser and re-open it (even with no changes made), but the images and links are still blocked in my hotmail.

Have you used someone's new Hewlet Packard with their OEM version of Windows XP? You've seen that HP has their own icon in the Start Menu, underneath Run, that goes to their Help Site. Now, you can have your icon that does anything you want (website, program, etc) and says anything you want. Basically, you are "branding" Windows XP (Home or Pro), great for if you are a computer builder and sell them, or you just want to make Windows XP your own. It involves Regedit.1. Start up Notepad and create a new registry file (*.reg) and copy and paste the following into it:Windows Registry Editor Version.

I have Windows XP and when I loaded my picture program for my digital camera it loaded quicktime onto our computer. Which disabled the cookie for one website that my father uses. I've tried everything in internet options to enable the cookies, I've lowered the privacy settings to allow all cookies, I've set everything to allow cookies, yet this site won't work. but there are other cookies on our computer, it's just this one website that will not let him log on. When the message pops up it says that either javascript and/or the cookies have been disabled... I know it is not the java because I reinstalled it and that's working just fine.

A site http://icsfamily.com, When I browse using IE 6 from specific machine, and afterlogin if I stay in site and browse to different pages, or surf out and in again I am asked to log in again. The problem started only now, when using Mozilla it is OK, when using IE on another machine it is also OK. When I login and open cookie folder I see the file and actually see it disappear few seconds after. I have sent the cookie to the support guys, but they said its OK and am sure the problem is my side as Mozilla is OK and other machines are OK.

I have an xp Home Edition Computer on a wireless network with 3 user accounts. I want to prevent one user (child) from accessing and using one web site. ( AIM.com). I thought of uninstalling AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), but that would not totally resolve the problem. The child can still reconnect to the web and re-download the program again. How can I configure the xp computer to prevent such access and usage of AIM without affecting the privilages from the other users (Adults) to use the same IM?

There is one particular website that I have been clicking on successfully in my Favorites for quite awhile. Now it will not connect. Often it will attempt to throw me into Acrobat Reader or just hang. Even when I Google the site and click on their link it will do the same thing. So far I haven't discovered any other site that acts this way. When I use another browser I connect easily. I certainly would appreciate any suggestions for a fix.

I did for a while activate the "prompt" alternative on Favorites/Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Advanced to block unwanted cookies. Then I blocked cookies from a site that I usually visit, marking the "always." option. The result was that I was blocked from entering the site. I then reversed all of my previous actions, letting the browser deal automatically with cookies as it saw fit (greying out all the rest of the alternatives on that window), restarted the computer and returned to the site. But all I get is a pop-up saying "You must activate cookies on your browser", at various stages, sometimes after I give the password and all, sometimes as soon as the home window comes up. I repeated all the a/m actions several times, but with the same result. I have XP with SP2, IE6, Pentium d.
Any help will be appreciated - Amos.

I have been accessing the Hulu tv shows streaming website for weeks (www.hulu.com). Suddenly, when I get to the TV-> browse page and select a tv show, the site hangs. I use Task Manager to kill it (it takes about ten attempts) and try it again and the same thing happens. This has been going on now for a few days.
I deleted the Temp Internet files - in case that was causing a problem - but it made no difference. I have a second, slower PC that can access Hulu without a problem (though not in full screen mode as this pc is too slow for full screen streaming video; the pc I am having the problem with is fast enough to go full screen, which I why I need to use it).......

MS windows update site will not allow manual download that I can see. It wants to download and install. Am I reading this correctly, or will it download and LET me install at my convenience? MS Instructions says to turn OFF AV before installing and I am not about to turn off AV while internet is turned on.
I am trying to download win XP, sp3, (for single computer, NOT for "IT" version) and it seems that MS does not want that to happen. I have spent the last hour searching for a MANUAL download of SP3, and not having any luck. Found several ways to get the "IT" version but there is a warning on the site, " NOT for single computers". I want to have a copy of SP3 for future needs and do not want to DISABLE AV while downloading. MS site advises to disable AV before installing SP3. Can anyone give me a link that will let me download SP3 and save to file, for individual computer?

I downloaded a printer driver from the HP site for windows XP. When I
double click on the executable I get this erro 16 bit Windows SubsysteC:WindowsSystem32autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.Since this is the driver HP designates for Aan XP system, I'm assuming
something is wrong with my system. I think I may have gotten this in other
situations - but it may only have been when I tried to install the same
driver earlier.
