This I know is a simple question but I have forgotten how to get the information. You know when you are in Windows Explorer and click on one of your folders, you can see (at a glance) at the bottom how many files are contained therein? I have reloaded Windows and now cannot see this info anymore. I have looked in Tools, Folder Options, etc but it hasn't helped me. Please can anyone tell me how to get this info back?

After windows loads it runs normally from anywhere between 2-15 min. then the system completely hangs on me frozen, I don't get a blue screen error or anything just a complete freeze. Here are all of the steps, Consult the MB manual and adjust the RAM to the compatible voltages in BIOS 1.8 default board setting 2.1 RAM setting Swapped out RAM with another set I had and repeated above. View 3 Replies View Relatedhi, I'm using Windows XP Home Edition, and I laptop has only 5 more GB left in my hard drive! when I tried deleted unnecessary files and the free disk space go up. But when I tried deleting actual programs from Add/Remove Programs, the free disk space just stay the same! I know the programs I deleted must total up to at least 2 GB. I tried a different approach. I installed a new program and the free disk space decreased. then I unistalled the same said program, but the free disk space didn't go back up! I tried to using Disk Cleanup, but it didn't work! Can anyone please tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?

just installed a new hard drive in my computer and now, every time I open any window at all, if I click "X" to close it out, an internet explorer page opens up that is blank. When I close that, I get a Windows Explorer error message that says "Windows Explorer needs to close". I'm thinking maybe there is a problem in the registry but don't know exactly how to go about fixing it.

When i open any link with "open in new window" the new window is not full size screen window.Of course i dragged it by mouse many times and that should fix it later.It means it should be opened as it had been dragged,but that's never happened though i dragged it about a hundred time as a full screen size.What is the wrong here?

But for some reason after I re-installed windows and ran it, it now made my slave drive into drive c: and my master drive into drive e:! How do I switch the two? The slave master is set up properly in the BIOS. The large drive is the master and the small drive is the slave. But how do I assign the c:designation to the large drive and the e: designation to the small slave drive.

The way it works now, the folders are always grouped separately from the normal files. I typically sort by filename and I'd like the folders to be mixed in with the files, sorted by name just as if they were regular files themselves.I know this isn't an error condition, but it is an annoyance. It does not happen if I run in safe mode.
In Windows Explorer anytime I want to copy or delete an avi file WE closes and get the attached error report.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to copy files to a DVD+RW it puts them into some kind of temporary files and then tells me it's ready to copy them to the CD. But it won't let me copy them to a DVD, seems to be looking for a CD. Why must I wait for these temporary files to be created. I was once able to start the copying and it would copy them with no delay. Is there some way to bypass this creation of temporary files and just begin the copying immediately?
