my problem is this, i switched on one of my home pc,s today and after briefly connecting to the internet it seemed to freeze/crash so i switched off & on again and no matter what i try which includes running the network setup wizard i keep on getting the same result, an error box(microsoft visual c++ runtime library) stating that a buffer overun has been detected which has corrupted the pc,s internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must be terminated. I have no idea what caused this as this is the first time ive seen this error.
One or two applications which used to run on my PC can't run anymore give the following error message:''Microsoft Visual C+ + runtime Library Programme: C:Programme Files xxxx.ex Runtime Error!''

Whenever I open explorer (not IE) and attempt to delete files I get a box saying: Runtime Error! Program: C:WINDOWSexplorer.exe abnormal program termination (OK). If I click the explorer window the dialogue box disappears behind the explorer window and I can continue deleting files etc. However when I finally click the (OK) in the error box, All the Icons on my desktop disappear for about 15 seconds and then reappear as if nothing is wrong. But sometimes the icons do not reappear and then I have to use the Ctl-Alt-Del method to restart the computer. What is happening and how can I fix it without reinstalling windows XP SP2.

When she loads Adobe photoshop V7 and tries to open an image file, as you scroll down the dialogue box which contains a thumbnail list of the images she gets a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library popup window which says Runtime error! Program c:program Files .....Photoshop.exe abnormal programme termination.I have run Nortin System works and had it fix all the errors it found. I have also run RegistryFix and had it fix all the errors it found. Problem still there.

I am using microsoft xp and i am getting this message while using java. Most of the time when i am playing games on yahoo. My system will start to run slow for about 2 or 3 minutes and then i get this error and my system freezes for about 3 or 4 minutes and then all windows shut down or the system reboots.

I can not burn an audio cd in Musicmatch Jukebox 10> I can burn ok with Roxio. I can Play an audio cd with Musicmatch, I can play froma playlist, I can rip an audio cd to my hard drive When I try to burn it gives me the message. we have had the computer in question for about 3 or four years now, however starting approximately a year ago it started to do this weird thing where randomly the entire computer will completely freeze, if there is any sound playing at the time of the freeze the sound loops repetitively and this will continue until the computer is reset.I tried to see if there was any specific cause for it doing this but i can only say that it happens more often during more intense programs (Eg: I-Tunes, video games, more demanding browsers like Chrome and Opera) but it will crash on occasion while doing nothing or running less intense programs like Internet explorer or paint. I have done numerous checks for virusesadwaremalware and nothing comes up that ultimately fixes the problem when it is removed. I have done several scans for registry errors and still nothing fixes the problem, at one point i even used the windows boot disc to delete the registry and restore it back to default, which as you can guess did not fix the problem and mainly just left me with a huge headache.I have reset the Bios and that doesn't work. i found something relatively similar to the problem i was having which would suggest that my RAM is bad so i ran memtest but after 4 passes it came up with nothing.I used the vacuum cleaner to clean out the whole case and still no results.

When i enter the OS, after the Welcome screen, After about 30secs my desktop and taskbar stop working, also anything thas is associated with Windows (Task manager, "Run", system restore, msconfig etc.) also crash. I could still open firefox through a button on my keyboard and mouse. I have tried kaspersky online scan, spybot search and destroy, AVG, registery cleaner and Windows update to fix it, but nothing has worked yet.
I am sending this report to Gateway but I do not have much faith in their support. I have the following problems with my Gateway 4540 GZ notebook (Centrino 1.5Ghz, 512 Ram, 80 HD). I REALLY need help here, as of right now, the PC is almost useless System freezes/hangs after seemingly random intervals. During a freeze, the mouse cursor will not move, and system does not respond in any way. Even hitting CAPS LOCK does not light up its corresponding LED light. 1. Let me clarify that I am NOT USING the same computer that has the problem. I am on a friends computer, so anything I download from majorgeeks will have to be burned to a disk and RAN IN SAFE MODE because my laptop will only run in SAFE MODE until I resolve this issue.1. As of 2 days ago the DESKTOP will FREEZE when it is loading startup icons and the mouse arrow keeps a "busy" symbol and it cannot select the "start" button, cannot click on anything on the desktop, just stays frozen in a "loading"position. I cannot get my laptop to do anything, so I have to CTL, ALT, DEL and do a "Restart" in SAFE MODE, and then I cannot get on the internet or anything in Safe Mode.

I ran setup.exe to install Visual Studio 6.0 using DVD. It crashed. I thought DVD is bad or corrupted and used some other CD. Still Visual Studio6.0 installation wizard is crashing. When it crashed, a dialog box comes upand asks whether I can send report to Microsoft or debug. I sent report to Microsoft. Nothing happend more than that. I tried to debug using visualstudio .net. i was playing guild wars and my system froze--no bsod or anything like that, everything froze and the computer restarted by itself. after i logged in to windows xp, it told me system recovered from a serious error. i went to event viewer, and found two errors around the time of the crash.
It seems as if my new wireless adaptor is causing problems, or the fact that my old one is still showing up in the device manager but it says it cannot be uninstalled because it may be needed to boot the computer. The one I cannot uninstall is 3 isntances of Linksys Wireless-B USB Network Adapter v2.8 Deterministic Network Enhancer Miniport. It is listed 3 times as #2 and #3. I did not have any problems over the summer when I used my computer back home and hooked up to our wired internet rather than the wireless. My computer now keeps freezing and then when I push the reset button and the computer starts up, it goes to the blue screen of death. When that happens I flip the switch in the back of the computer and turn it off and on again and it starts right up, soon to freeze again. Does anyone know what could be going on here?
When I want to access the internet I click the "E" symbol on my desktop, the problem that I get is that I keep getting a getting that pops up in stead of going directly to the MSN page.I keep getting ( Privacy violation 408HTA Warning ) getting that keeps opening up and I can't get it off my computer It is an advertisement to buy some sort of spyware software.
Starts/loads fine. Will run fine for days w/ I.E. open, O.E. open=no activity. Upon visiting different internet sites, using, after about 15+ minutes the pointer freezes/no error message/Cont-Alt-Delete provides nothing-can not shut down computer w/ button on CPU , must unplug/restart Several times I have been searching MS for downloads for I.E. -6 (Updates/patches/info) (as in my little mind this is problem) but C. freezes at that point as I click on a link.
I had accidentally created a LAN connection, disabled, removed it, and had discovered the Internet Connection Sharing had disappeared, under the advanced tab of "Wireless Internet Connection". I have looked, and looked for a solution to this problem but can not find one. I had found a workaround, tried it, but it just caused my computer to freeze up.
My computer crashed the other day and I got the dreaded BSD. I managed to reinstall the operating system which is XP Home Service Pack 1 on a CD drive that is not working correctly. I have managed to reinstall drivers so far but that is as far as I have gotton besides the reinstalling the OS. I have a friend who is 120 miles away and unavailable during the day that is trying to assist me, How do I go about getting back on the internet, I have highspeed internet access thru Comcast. I am leaving the wireless alone for now and just trying to connect thru the modem cable alone now but nothing is happening, when I try to connect thru the cable modem the browser is not working. I had Firefox before instead of IE.
My hard drive crashed beyond salvage. I bought a new hard drive, installed it and used my recovery disks to get the basics back. It is a Sony Vaio laptop (PCG-Gr390, to be specific). It has Windows XP, pre SP1/SP2. When I installed it, I went through the formatting process and formatted it for the first time, being that it's a new HD. Everything worked as expected, but I have yet to update anything because I can not successfully connect to the Internet.
All efforts to create a connection were unsuccessful.Next to my laptop is a slow Dell desktop, runnung a fully updated XP operating system. Using the same cable modem, connection to the Internet was fine with the desktop for both wired and wireless, but not the newly formatted laptop. My ethernet jack and wireless card on the laptop are working (according to the device manager).
I had change my uxtheme.dll bcoz i wanted to install non microsoft themes but now only classic theme is working and when i apply other themes i get an error "visual styles could not be loaded" , "error Loading visual styles". pls help me out with this problem
