This error has been posted here before and Rollin' Rog has given me some pointers but to no avail. The problem that a friend of mine is facing is the following:
While she's surfing the net and a link opens a new window, the new window opens but the moment she closes this new created window, IE crashes which results in the following error in the eventlog (dutch Windows XP SP2
when i ctrl+alt+del i see that the iexplore.exe and system are using all my cpu it seems that the system and browser processes are fighting each other
View 8 Replies View Relatedfor quite awhile now both my computers but they seem to work pretty good although alittle slow. but when you go to shut them down, both of them a box comes up and says ending program where you can wait for it to end the program or you can click on end now. well it doesn't matter which you do most of the time the computer won't shut down. it just keeps going back to the end program box. It is always this program--iexplore.exe always that one. One time I looked into the task manager and it had like 5 or 6 of the iexplore.exe in the application part. anyway it is getting quite annoying. I ran asquared when this was happening and it caught what it said was a trojan (didn't write it down) I deleted it and it seemed to work for awhile. But now it is back to the same ole thing. Can someone enlighten me on what might be wrong? It is on both of my computers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running XP,SP3.I have Kaspersky anitvirus, PC Tools spyware doctor, Lavasoft Ad-aware (free), spybot search and destroy (free). Recently I had my computer wiped clean, so I have had all the updates from Microsoft. I am now experiencing a problem with my Internet Explorer. It will open, either from the start menu or the launch. However, if I close IE, it will not re-open. Then when I shut down or log off, I receive numerous pop ups that "iexplore.exe is not responding.click end now. The # of pop-ups I receive usually correspond to the # of times I have attempted to get IE to re-open OR during my session of surfing, how many links I may go out to. I started looking at my task manager, and I am finding 3-4 iexplore.exe running! I have already run all my scans, including in safe mode. Nothing has helped. I am getting ready to purchase XoftSpySE after researching real time protection.I have done some research and have seen that others are experiencing the same problem I am having but have already done everything suggested that I have found so far. There is nothing on Microsofts website on this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEssentially, the computer in question loads to the desktop but refuses to display the taskbar or desktop icons. The task manager indicates iexplore.exe is using 100% of the CPU. Subsequent boots into any safe mode without the command prompt simply fail. Chkdsk indicates that the boot drive is still viable. The computer does not have a system restore point that successfully resolves the problem. I suspect that the issue is malware of some kind. However, I'm not entirely sure of my options, since I cannot perform a repair install (the user has no Windows XP installation disks).
View 28 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open Internet explorer, it tells me that iexplore.exe is missing,so basicly IE can not be opened.I tried to run it through start-> run , but he says that he can't find the file (C:Program filesInternet exploreriexplore.exe) I do have a internet explorer folder in program files,but i'm unable to open it.Normally,when you click on "Start", "internet explorer" is standing there too. Somehow I can't see it there.
When I click on the Internet Explorer shortcut, it opens a screen saying: Choose the program that you want to open this file with (Note: This will probably won't be the correct translation as it's a dutch computer).In this screen you can search for IE. By this i know for sure that it is iexplore.exe that is missing.When i do Ctrl-Alt-Delete , I can't see iexplore.exe running .
I am hoping someone can help! I did some disk cleanup and in add/remove programs, I deleted programs that, according to add/remove, had not been used in a few years and were taking up space. I did this b/c my PC was running super slow. (if anyone has advice for this ailment I will welcome all responses)Anyway, I inadvertently deleted my calculator, character map and iexplore.exe. I found a free download for calculator, but the other two apps I am at a loss for. I have searched for the files and looked under "all programs" and cannot find either one.
View 4 Replies View Relatedsince today i've been experiencing quite unusual behaviour of windows explorer. After logon the taskbar shows up for a blink of eye, and then closes. Explorer.exe cannot be started from task manager as well (the same behaviour). Iexplore.exe neither.

I just noticed this problem, but I'm not sure how long it's been going on because I seldom use IE. When I start IE the process iexplore.exe starts up, which is normal, but when I close IE, iexplore.exe keeps running, which is not normal. If I start IE again it will start another iexplore.exe, so I can have several running and the only way to stop them is to kill them with task manager. Now another thing I have happening which is even weirder is I'll start IE, then kill iexplore.exe and IE keeps running like normal. I've run all the anti-virus and anti-spyware stuff I can think of and everything comes up clean. I'm current with all Windows updates?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click almost anything I get the explorer has encountered a problem and has to close. always the faulting module kernel32.dll. Then immediately another box appears with the drwatson postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close, I then have to ctrl alt del to close the drwtsn.exe and get my desktop back.
I have been having problems in psp7 with ntdll being the faulting module.
I run the bare minimum start up programs and have ran all virus and spyware scans. I have googled this problem until.
Im running windows xp pro sp2. AMD 2400
Have loads of disk space and plenty of free RAM.LV.
Every tme I am starting any new software on my windows 98 SE, I get an odd message error with black exclamation on yellow trian gle background: "Plik SWISHMAX.EXE jest polączony z brakującym eksportem KERNEL32.DLL:RestoreLAstError." And in English: "The file SWISHMAX.exe {the name of program} is connected to lost export KERNEL32.DLL:RestoreLastError".
Then I click ok, and there appearsnew error message: The device can't work.
I've been getting a lot of trouble with my computer lately; specifically, the desktop will disappear and show nothing but my background, then reappear, but some things in the taskbar tray will be gone, including Norton. Some programs reappear, but Norton never does until I restart. First off, is this Explorer crashing?

Now I'm no genius, but I think something has gone horribly wrong... is there any solution?

many times when im using some ones pc or using mine, there is always missing functions from dll files, mainly the kernel32.dll
and the missing one i care about is ThunkConnect32, used for audio
so can i either learn how add functions to the kernel32 or is there a kernel32 with all functions??

Both IE7 and Outlook crash when viewing certain websites. Both come up with a

In Win-Explorer, whenever I right-click on a file or folder, then I get a dread message that "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close"; the error points to kernel32.dll and eventually a similar message comes up regarding Dr.Watson.
Q. Is there any way other than a re-install of WinXP to re-enable the right click function?
Q. Is there some utility that I might run to restore the capability that I had or perhaps to UNinstall something that I could possibly put back?
Since I'd don't right click very often, am not sure but believe that the problem may have resulted from the installation of Nero8Ultra.
Each time i start up my Windows 2000 proffesional pc, I get an error message "kernel32.dll" just in a grey box and no options or anything. I had a problem withmy pc a while ago, had it wiped, and the other day i went on, it came up, i wasnt sure what it was so i just closed it :s, then i did my weekly virus scan, however mcafee doesnt work, also the internet is unbelieveably slow and often just says this page is unavailable. Msn messenger still works fine though?
View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter installing xp home updates yesterday, my machine rebooted itself, then continued to reboot (xp would start to load then my pc would reset itself and start booting again)
Booting windows with the "dont automatically restart system on failure" option revealed I had a corrupt kernel32.dll, which was fixed by using recovery console to copy the file over again.
Once this is done, xp will boot. Then it tells me to update.
how can i terminate this error??because of this error i am unable to install TweakUI.

I play an online game and have played for 3 years. recently i havnt played because im getting a kernel32.exe failure. Well wow that really sucks. So im like. meh forget it ill just reformat. It starts the setup and what not and says. if you want to install windows xp press enter. or repair press r ok i press enter. Then it says that it cant find my hardrive. but all my files are there. i replaced the IDE cable and made sure my drive was set to master and was plugged in right. Nothing.i checked bios. so i get a new hard drive. my commputer gets a ndlr error on boot up.

I have been trying to fix an issue with a friends computer. Problem is I'm not very computer savvy :S So that's where you all come in :P I do have some knowledge of computer's and usually catch on pretty quickly. Basically I have been noticing my friends comp has become increasingly slow over the last week I have scanned with AVG and found a change in the following:
Shell32.dll, kernel32.dll, hosts, user32.dll, ntoskrnl.dll
I have tried searching for the shell32.dll and found it only to be in the C:/windows/system32 folder as someone recommended in another post I had read on here..Those are the only items showing in a complete scan of the system so I have no idea what is causing this..Also she has been noticing an increased amount of pop ups even when explorer is not running? I believe they are CID or CDI pop ups.
I started getting browser and sometimes PC crashes. At first it seemed to be browser related. But the PC would also crash when idle. I tried disabling add- ons in Firefox and opening in safe mode. Tried using Chrome but it would crash with the message that Flash had malfunctioned. Then I started getting Stop messages and BSODs.I hadn't installed and new hardware and, I don't think, installed any new big programs except for updates to existing ones.
I emailed a few of the mini dump files to a friend. He said they didn't specify which drivers were causing the problem. But it might be something to do with the video or the network card. I rolled back drivers. No change. I updated drivers and uninstalled lots of programs. For a month everything seemed stable. Then the BSODs started to return. Infrequently at first but then more regularily. Sorry the story is a bit confused but it is difficult to remember every detail of what happened and the order I did things in.
ive installed a game called big city adventure but wen i go to run it i get - the ordinal 947 could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll. ive tried reinstallin the game but still get it, ive even updated my directx n also deleted the game shortcut on desktop n resent it to desktop from the game folder but nothin helps. y am i gettin this error msg n how can i resolve it.
