Aug 21, 2005When trying to switch to another user, the user logon screen apears again. I can only logon with first loged in user.

Creating 30 User Accounts - Else Switch Off / Disable For Each User
Sep 12, 2010I'm going to create 30+ user accounts. They will be all running at the same time, running the same program. (the only way I've figured out how to dual-boot the same program) and I was wondering... Is there anyway to make it somehow use less resources doing so? Like, so far I've gone into Advanced > Performance and killed the switch on everything. I was just wondering, after days of running non-stop, it is bound to start eating up RAM or even cache to much, right? If so, what can I do to stretch the time this happens in? What else can I switch off/disable for each user to eat up less resources?

May 5, 2010my computer used to have the option to switch user OR log off when I clicked the log off button, but now the switch user option has disappeared; however, both options are available on my other computer. What am I missing?

Apr 28, 2007I currently have XP make me password login when I turn it on, but I'm just wondering, is there a way to have it automatically log me in, then go to the switch user screen? I ask this because it usually takes mine a while to load up to the logon screen, but then I have to go back and login before it works properly, so yeah, I'd just like to get it to log me in, load up, then got to the switch user screen so that I can go watch TV for half an hour, come back, and be ready to go.

May 24, 2006i can't switch user it just cancels and doesn't do anything. I go to control panel and Fast User Switching is off, but i try to trun it on. i press Apply Option and i go back to it and its off again. I was tweaking the computer earlier and i think i by accidently messed up the the registry or turned off a service.

XP created the default 'Administrator' account, which is what it's supposed to do, but I don't what it to be visible to other users. Now they are unable to access anything other than their own documents. Any ideas what happened and how to fix this? The virus software is up to date and the scanner runs clean, although the sytem overall seems slower.

May 3, 2007i need to get admin. rights on my pc. but it's setup as to automatically login as a limited account. i tried everything from using the hidden user account at the welcome screen but theres already a password for that too. tried using command prompt but it won't work it says ERROR 5 and the msg config and everything says you must have admin. priveleges in order to proceed so log back in with your administrator account. how in the heck am i supposed to if i can't log in as an adminisrtator anyway that means its useless!!!!! even in safe mode it wont work

It is a Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop Running Windows XP Home/newbie so pls be patient..Anyway, the Dell got infected with the NSIS Media Trojan & I tried everything to remove it including but not limited to Webroot spy sweeper. It would quarantine it but apparently this thing regenerates in the registry. Jan 24, 2005I have Windows XP home edition and on one of the 4 user settings I get the message the WinCtlAd.exe failed to execute. I also get WinCtlAdAlt.exe failed.

Jan 23, 2010Whenever I try to get into the User Accounts section of my Windows XP, I get the following error:"Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus"I have absolutely no idea what it means, or how to go about fixing it. The account is Administrator, and I have used WindowBlinds with it in the past. I don't even know if WindowBlinds has anything to do with the problem, but it didn't start until around the point that I was using it.
