I have three Pcs running on a wireless network and all systems have their pre-installed Microsoft Genuine XP Home Edition setup with their own different genuine Auth Licence Keys ! Just built a new system and was wondering if i could install XP Home on it and use pre-owned installation cd and use the same licence key again on this new built pc ? I assume I could do it, but what about the online registration needed to validate the product ?
1. Can I register this Licence key Again ?
2. Would it affect the other PC using the same Licence key ?
How To Retrieve Volume Licence Nr?
Jan 8, 2009I am doing a repair install of my windows XP. The program is asking for the volume licence nr. When I enter the number on the disk it says that the nr is invalid. Is there any way to retrieve this information from my old installation. I cannot get into windows because of an Harddrive error that was repaired.

Do the same thing, download Corp XP Pro. Burn a copy to CD on a computer it isn't install on, make up a receipt, and go to the Library and do a search of newspapers for computer shows from a couple years ago.Fill out the forms MS gives you and send in with the CD and receipt, and get MS to send you a retail copy for free. OK, I'm not really advocating anybody doing this, just trying to make a point. If someone is gonna pirate XP to begin with, what makes MS think that people won't be doing things like this? Why isn't retail XP sold at the price that is being offered to people with pirated Windows to begin with?

Now they are unable to access anything other than their own documents. Any ideas what happened and how to fix this? May 3, 2007i need to get admin. rights on my pc. but it's setup as to automatically login as a limited account. i tried everything from using the hidden user account at the welcome screen but theres already a password for that too. tried using command prompt but it won't work it says ERROR 5 and the msg config and everything says you must have admin. priveleges in order to proceed so log back in with your administrator account. how in the heck am i supposed to if i can't log in as an adminisrtator anyway that means its useless!!!!! even in safe mode it wont work

It is a Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop Running Windows XP Home/newbie so pls be patient..Anyway, the Dell got infected with the NSIS Media Trojan & I tried everything to remove it including but not limited to Webroot spy sweeper. It would quarantine it but apparently this thing regenerates in the registry. Therefore, I decided I needed to really secure my system & so since I am the only user, I deleted the non-admin logon account & set up the admin account with a password. I wrote it down but have lost the paper which I had written the password on. The hint is not helping me remember it exactly so I'm locked out.
