View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows XP SP2 installed on an "ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe" which used to work with a Celeron D 2.4 GHz. I Finaly bought a P4 3.0 GHz (HT) and changed the CPU. The OS detected the new cpu and with a driver signing warning, it installed the new processor (The driver is provided by Microsoft). Although everything seems to work fine I don't have "Hyper Threading" enabled in Windows, while it is reported to be available in BIOS. I found some boot.ini editing guide that didn't help. I don't want to fresh install windows since I'm faithful to my aged XP which was installed around 1998 and upgraded to-date! How can I enable HT?

Lately it won't resume from hibernate. When I press the pwoer button the disk shows no activity and it just sits with a black screen. Typing keys or moving the mouse has no impact. However, wacking the computer seems to wake it up and then everything proceeds as normal. I would rather not have to wack it.
