i have in "MY MUSIC" folder, over 85 individual folders all of which have an album cover displaying the artist that they represent. I have noticed in various other places on my PC that certain random folders also display an album cover.why is this, i have tried to select the restore to default but it seems to not wipe the folders clean. i hope this makes sense, its kinda annoying me that this is happening.

A while ago I put my pictures into folders. I now realize I don't like them in folders. How can I remove them from the folders they are in?
View 12 Replies View Relatedthis may sound dumb and unimportant to most, but it's a pain in the keyster to me so here goes i'm an artist and i keep my photos i intend to paint in the "my pictures" section and i keep them organized in various folders.when i want to see a photo i double click on it and it shows up....great up to there. when i hit the "done" button, it takes me back to the top of the folder rather than the picture i just looked at it. i will often have various views of the same subject and would like to be able to return to the original photo and just click to the photo next to it rather be returned to the very top and have to scroll down and often guess at the one i just looked
View 3 Replies View RelatedA friend's computer total nightmare she doesn't know much about computers, and it seems thoroughly messed up. Tried installing Windows Defender, and it couldn't find her "My Pictures" folder so it didn't install. So I looked under her My Documents folder. It's missing the My Pictures and My Music folders. Plus, the other folders that are there, such as My Videos, etc., their icons are not special, they look like ordinary folders.Her computer's "Shared Documents" section looks fine, with all the usual folders with special icons, etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Adobe Acrobat about 2-3 weeks ago as part of a CreativeSuite package. I have yet to use it. However, just last night, when I tried to open a folder full of pictures on my desktop, for some reason, it attempted to install Adobe Acrobat. I cancelled the installation (acrobat was already installed) and the folder opened. I've tried some experiments now and it seems like every time I try to open a REGULAR FOLDER or a COMPRESSED FOLDER (ARCHIVE) ... ON MY DESKTOP ONLY, my computer attempts to install adobe acrobat. When I hit cancel the folder finally opens. I haven't waited to see what would happen if I let the computer install it cause I just spent hours cleaning my hard drive so my windows installation is sparkling and I don't want to mess that up w/ 2 copies of acrobat.

(It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in
I am using an old Dell with XP and Internet Explorer 7. When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.
Notice considerable lag when doing the following simple tasks: use the dialog boxes to browse folders (save as, etc) is slow ,double clicking my computer or any folders is slow, right click and create new folders is slow, clicking START button and going to programs is slow

(About 1200 mp3 files all inside these 100 folders...all inside 1 folder if that makes any sense)I'm thinking about moving all those mp3's outside there folders so that i have just one continuous stream of mp3's. When I opened the link the pictures opened up, I then clicked on the red x in the corner on both of them as I thought they had saved automatically to my documents or my pictures. When I put CD in drive and click on My Pictures, under the Picture Tasks on the left side menu, there is no item COPY TO CD. There is only copy this file under the file and folder tasks. I recently purchased a new computer that came free with it's own Photo Shop program, so every time I try to edit a picture in My Pictures folder it opens THAT program instead of PAINT, which is what I want to edit the pictures in. Anyone got any clues how to set it right?
When attempting to Edit photos in My Pictures, window pops up advising that, "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

View 3 Replies View RelatedI will try to explain as well as I can. My friend has been having some slight computer problems lately so I went over to take a look. The first problem that the screen would get a lot of jibberish on it. Pixels or what ever. I tried a new cable and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and no go. I installed a new driver and the same. Finally I tried a new video card and it worked great. That is just the first of the problem. I then noticed that one of his hdd on his raid 1 had gone bad so I took it out and got it replaced. In the meantime when I restarted his computer it did a disc check and did some things I had never seen before but it completed the check on the good disc. All seemed to be working well until a few days ago he said that his music was doing crazy things so I went over to take another look. I played a song and it would start in the middle of the song and play a whole nother song. I would play Queen and Celine would come on but it would start in the middle of one of her songs. Not all the songs are like that though. We never did count but I would venture to say at least half are still good. I then just out of curiosity went to his pictures and they also had problems. A couple of them would show up and the others would not. They still showed they had 1.6mb or 2mb in each folder for the pictures but nothing would show up. He mentioned something about some power surges but he is proteced with a battery backup ups from APC. What does it sound like to you?

Next time I open My Documents, there they are again. Any tips on how to permanently prevent these 2 items from appearing?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe special icon for "My Pictures" is gone and access to these files is compromised (they are there, but don't work like they should). Unable to run iTunes, a problem which started at the same time. The iTunes error originally request chdisk, which I did, problem persisted. Installed new iTunes version and did System Restore to one day prior to problem. Now iTunes simply crashes when I attempt to start it. I tried running the Desktop.ini reset command, no change due to that either. I am running XP Home with multiple users.
