Wwhen I start my computer up my Kazaa folder pops up along with all my regular start up programs. I had uninstalled Kazaa, but this folder keeps appearing at start up. Tried to change my normal startup to selective by checking it off, but it still shows up.

I can't seem to get much information on wacko.gif Just built a new rig that is running XP x64 with latest drivers and updates, specs are below. Installed my otf's (openType fonts) and have tried 2 different type managers (Extensis Suitcase and FontAgent Pro 4) to get my fonts to activate and they are not activating.
This lead me to check the windows font folder and I noticed that any OTF in the folder was not showing up in my applications (photoshop etc). So I double click on the fonts and I am getting a "the requested file /path to font/ was not a valid font file" message. I installed the fonts directly from my cd so I know the fonts are valid.
All of a sudden my 'music' folder is showing up on my desktop. But not in the usual spot. It show all misc items on the top third of my desktop. I don't know how I got it there but there it is.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn my computer on it opens in my documents. I have no desktop icons and no start menu. The only thing I see is my desktops background picture. When it opens in my documents, I can click on my desktop and the items are in there, so I can access the internet that way. When I shut down the computer, I hit ctrl+alt+del, and shut it down or restart it from there.

Then on some login names, in their Printers and Faxes folder I see the same printer but the word "Auto" is in front of it. These often have limited ability to work.why they show up and how.

I've walked her through the process of clicking on View at the top of the Outlook Express Interface and setting the Layout items so that her Contacts and Folder list should be on the screen, but they are not. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify the situation and I've run out of options. The way it is without her folders list she cannot access her deleted folder and her sent folder and cannot delete anything from those folders. Is there anything else I can do to bring up those her contacts list and her folders list?

I would prefer it be where "My Computer", "My Documents", etc is, but I would settle for where "Internet" and "E-Mail" currently are. I can successfully add apps to that area, but not folders. Choose 'Close' to terminate.(Clicking on 'Close' or 'Ignore' has no further result)I have read of similar problems requiring the file to be restored into the directory from a Windows Repair folder, but there is not one on our machine. View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently moved out on my own and though I'm fairly knowledgeable regarding my laptop and its programs, I am not that familiar with repairing problems. I am having a consistent problem with system 32 folder popping up everytime I turn my computer on. I had this problem one other time and managed to trouble shoot my way out of it. But this time, try as I may I cannot get the darn thing to stop. I did bring up the I did the ctrl, shft & esc all at the same time and brought up my task manager and the first thing I noticed was that there were three things listed. The first was a foxfire logo followed by the words for whatever I'm searching for. like now it says tech Support Guy Forums - post new thread....Running. Under that is a square followed by the word Address, under that is another box followed by the words Quick Launch. I'm not sure what to do to get rid of the consistent popping up of system 32. It's just an irritating little sound and action.

There are no shortcuts for them in the Start Up Folder, and they do not start automatically after a complete shut down/fresh start -- only after a restart. After they're up and running, everything works normal.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up the Start Menu on one of the accounts, there is nothing in the left-hand column. When I right click and get the Properties, and try to Customize the Menu, the options don't save, and I'm stuck with nothing. I've tried clicking on the Internet radio button for "Show on Start Menu". I click Ok, then Apply, and Finally Ok again. But when I go back to the menu, it still has nothing in the left-hand column.
The second thing I've noticed was under Folder Options -> View, I tried to check both the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" button, and also un-check "Hide extensions for Known File Types" and click on Apply, then Ok again. But still, these options don't save and are reset back to "Do not show hidden files", and "hide extensions".
I noticed some irregular occurences on my system, starting off with “My Computer” opening the same folder at startup (C:program files ero I think) and taking a LOT longer to shutdown/restart than normal (anywhere between 5 & 15mins to shutdown).
