My Epson scanner suddenly won't work. I keep getting this error message: RPC connection with ScanManager terminated abnormally then escndv.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.I've been back and forth with Epson, who advised me to uninstall the program, download their newest driver, and reinstall.

Suddenly, I am able to log on to the VPN, and it shows me connected, but I cannot connect to my mail or the databases. I have not intentionally changed any settings. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a MITSUMI CD-ROM FX54++M and a CR-48XCTE drives.they stopped working, and under device manager it says this for both: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" Im pritty sure that the reason for this was when i was installing quicktime 7 with itunes and it prompted me if i wished to change windows so that every time i put in a cd it would auto-run the cd, because after i rebooted they stopped working. If i uninstall the drives windows still detects them, and the drives work physically. I have changed autorun back to 0 in regedit but that has changed nothing, and when i tried to install the driver for the CD-R drive it says it cannot detect any drive. I also did a system restore and the drives still do not work
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just took turned off my comp and took my cdrom out so i could put it in another computer. then i booted back up and adwatch comes up with all these registry entries, i wsa really really tired and didnt read them and just started blocking them all. and then suddenly all my links on my desktop turned into the generic icon and dont work, when i click them it asks what program to open them with.when i go to program files and open it directly the icons dont work at all, asks what program to open it with.I know it wasnt a virus of any kind i was offline.

"c" will print "-", n will be 7, ";" will be the "page up" key etc.I've reinstalled the keyboard drivers but no success. language/region settings are US as always. no idea why it's suddenly scrambled. keyboard is microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard 1.0A. batteries are fine. XP system.Please help. this is really causing a ton of trouble. I'm using software kboard to type this.

When I'm logged on locally as the administrator on this machine the scanner works fine when i try to scan using the hp solution center to scan the documents. But when i log on to the domain and try scanning using the solution center or even adobe photoshop or any other software it just will not scan and it tells me to reinstall the drivers of the scanner. The printer works fine. Just the scanner does not work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a USB barcode scanner from ebay. It has plug and play and dose not require any hardware discs. I installed it on my 3 other PC's and it works 100% fine. But when I try to install it on my Gateway 2500 (please refrain from laughing ) it says it cannot find the software and asks for a key. I am guessing that it could be a plug and play software problem but I do not know. The scanner company dose not have a software disk.
View 8 Replies View Relatedmy cable is not working properly.Every 15-20 minutes my internet connection is broken even though the modem is online and there is no problem with the cable coming into my house. I have to reset the cable modem and then it works for another 10-20 minutes until the next cut. Ive had this problem before (last time i changed computers) but cant remember how it was resolved. I already talked to my ISP support but these guys are brain damaged or something and cannot even comprehend my problem and all 3 actually concluded that i had somehow contracted some killer virus immediately after connecting my computer and this virus was the root of my problems

If the scanner is being used [which it isn't], wait for it to complete the task, and then try again."I'm using a Dell Dimension E510 with a Dell AIO 942.Please help, if at all possible. View 8 Replies View RelatedWell I about had enough with my computer messing up on me, so I backed up all my important files and reinstalled windows all over again. Everyone suggested I tried to do sfc /scannow, but that wouldn't work and no one gave me an alternative idea, so I just fell back onto my last resort: Starting over.
However, it seems even starting over has brought me a headache. The good news is, all my important files have been saved and I can easilly grab them. The bad news is, everything else isn't working the way I wanted it to.The scroll bar is slow. Very very slow. It's supposed to be smooth in scrolling up and down the page whether it be on the internet or in file folders, but it has incredible lag to it, scrolling by doing "screen wipes" I guess would be the best way to call it.
im back again and again I have a problem.. I am curently using my mothers computer and it is loading extremely slow? For instance, im re-downloading yahoo messenger and it normallly takes 7 minutes whereas now its taking up to an hour. Whats going on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIgnore the siggie info; the problem is on a separate computer, a Compax laptop. There is 256MB physical memory and 2GB virtual memory. The C: disk has heaps of room on it.
It has Avast AV, Spybot, Adaware and Spyware Blaster and uses the XP firewall. All are up to date and all come up clean when checked. I do a monthly defrag and have Easy Cleaner and empty unnecessary files and surplus registry entries monthly. Despite all this it seems to run abnormally slowly, particularly when bringing up onboard stuff like OE, IE and other programs. Downloading internet sites seem pretty reasonable.
I'm having a bit of trouble with my internet connection at home. I have recently reinstalled Windows XP home due to corruption of files but previous to that my internet connection did not work. However, since the install i have been unable to establish a continuous connection. It starts and stops for no reason at all. I have been online and it loses connection saying there is no dial tone. A connection can be lost/found for no particular reason.

This message seems to trigger two problems: (1) the sound is not working, and (2) the wireless connection does not work after my computer goes into hibernation--I have to do a complete reboot to get the internet back.The second message says "Anti-Spyware | Unexpected Problem was encountered. Error #: 0x80004003.I assume these messages are related but I'm not sure.

Well the point is that sometimes I get disconnect from the internet but the other computer still works online, so I have to reboot or even start up again the computer. we already RESET the router but after that, I already get twice again disconnected need to reboot again, I am missing something that I oversee and its producing this disconnection.

Half way through the installation i get the error "installer terminated prematurely". no matter what i do I get this message. It partially installs, but not enough to be fully operational. I can't reboot after the BSOD as the laptop will just freeze at the windows diskc check area. How do i find out what process was terminated?Furthermore i tried using my laptops recovery disc but the system won't let me run the program.

I've tried repairing the boot sectors (which I realize aren't at fault) and placed autochk.exe in every directory I can think of (Windows was reporting that it couldn't find it). If I run a chkdsk or scandisk in the recovery console will this be fixed? Or am I doomed to reinstall? This isn't bad since I can simply reinstall and not lose too much, but I'd like another option.
