It usually hasn't been a massive problem except I've just bought an ipod, and the certificate errors won't let me download itunes! So I really need to disable the certificate errors. Following instructions, I've got as far as disabling it, but it says that I need to restart internet explorer for it to take into effect. How do I restart internet explorer? Or is there another easier way to disable the certificate errors?

View 2 Replies View RelatedApple introduced a new social network in the latest version of iTunes called Ping that allows you to "follow your favorite artists and friends to discover the music they're talking about." If you are a music junkie that does not use Facebook you will love the service, for everyone else, almost all of the features already exist in the Facebook world. Although using Facebook may not be as elegant as using Ping, it is worth the few extra clicks to avoid another separate list of friends and likes.

Once it loaded, I ran RegiCure and a host of other virus or regi conflict software. The following message appears when I try to boot Excel or Word. "The application or DLL C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeMSO9.DLL is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette."So at the moment, I can't boot Excel and Word. IS there a known Excel & Word conflict with service pack "3"?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI start up my computer, I get this message pop up: Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7929f276) By accident, I went to my control panel and clicked on Administrative tools, and clicked on the Micrsoft.Net Framework 1.1 Configuration and got this same error message: Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7929f276) so how do I get rid of it then? I went online and found out that I needed to go to my Add/Remove Programs and put a check mark next to the "Show Updates" which makes it show all of the Microsoft .Net Framework stuff. I did that, and managed to remove the Service Pack 3. BUT when I tried to remove all of the Service Pack 1 it said something like that "something is already in the process of installing, please wait till it gets done"

Nothing predictable about it, either. I am getting hordes of DCOM errors in event viewer. Nor can the service be manually started. When I try to start it manually, I get the following Services alert popup "Could not start the Windows Management Instrumentation service on Local Computer. View 6 Replies View RelatedA problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS'etc. I spoke with someone who said to reboot and go into Safe Mode and Restore as far back as I can. When I go into Safe Mode to Restore, it tells me that Restoring in Safe Mode has been disabled. So I rebooted again and went into Safe Mode and do have all the icons up etc. My friend asked me if I had installed any new software/ hardware or if I have Zone Alarm.I said the latest hardware installed was a mouse but I have been using it for over 1 month. The only software installed was Java INIT.I have always had two things come up for the past two years, one that says I have new Hardware Device to install, which I always cancel and also a message that says something needs to be written to a CD which I close.I do have Zone Alarm 5.5 and went onto their forum to see if anyone else has issues, and they do not.
I usually work on my business work with Zone Alarm off, as I use a VPN which doesn't work with Zone Alarm on.I've had Zone Alarm for over 3 yrs.Does anyone have any suggestons how I can rectify this issue? I sure would appreciate very simple instructions from the gurus - thanks so much! By the way I'm using my husband's computer and can receive hotmail email.

windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt : WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM
laptop was infected with the Antivirus 2009 after surfing the web and I removed it using malwarebytes program. Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot. After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. This kept on occuring.
Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation. A stop error appeared "STOP C0000218 Unknown Hard Error". Could the hard disk be corrupt
I'm trying to make a dual boot system Vista/XP with my HP Media Center purchased in 2007 with Vista pre-installed. Inside Vista I created the partition for XP (disk D and rebooted with the 'XP Pro SP2' inside. After selecting its correct partition for installing it copies all files on hard disk and it reboots in order to start its installation, upon rebooting and starting first time from hard disk, it says that there is an error in the system and stops. If I install only XP on the system it works correctly even though some newest hardware is not recognized. I had already made a dual boot two years ago with a 2007 XP Student Edition and it smoothly. If it is due to the XP version being too old that maybe cannot deal with the boot record created by Vista
Or perhaps such an old XP cannot recognize a boot hard disk that is not C:?
Is there a way to bypass this point (perhaps fixing the boot record) in order to continue correctly the installation?
Thank you,
Al
