Defrag Shows Enough Space Message
Oct 7, 2005It won't let me defragment my pc, says i don't have enough space free, how can i change that without getting rid of files i need?

Defrag Screen Shows Tow Drives
Dec 3, 2005The defrag screen shows 2 C drives each a mirror of the other. Scan disk recognizes only one and shows everything OK. How can I remove the mirrored drive and show only the correct one. All other functions are OK.

Aug 13, 2007i wanted to copy a cd image 4.18GB ISO format from partition F: NTFS 9GB free to partition D: (FAT32 12GB free space) and windows gives me that crap there is not enough space and i should do a disk clean up.
I made a disk clean up to partition D: and there was 3GB of system restore files!!! maybe coz i deleted 6GB earlier anyway i deleted the system restore files
Only NTFS partions can have files with file size more than 4GB..i hope theres nothing wrong with my windows or my hard disk..and i wanna know if theres a way to move that ISO image..thanx in advance.
Less Free Space After Defrag

Dec 28, 2005Defraging main HardDisk Drive in XP Home edition w/ diskeeper 8.x and everything went smoothly as always, but then I decided to uninstall some useless apps and then went back to re-defrag and the reserved system space disappeared. Diskeeper was moving my files into the area where the reserved system space used to be so I stopped it. I then ran system restore and brought my system back 2days and re-tried to defrag and the reserved system space is still missing. Is this even a big deal? The computer (Dell 4400 P3) seems to be working just fine. Thanks.

Aug 21, 2009Reformatted my hard drive, Drive C and reinstalled Windows XP Professional SP3 and all the drivers. The drive is 120 GB. I have a Dell 8300, now all of a sudden when I click on Drive C it shows that I only have 24% unused space on my hard drive. It has been defragged and I know it shouldn't be showing that full.

Jun 2, 2005I was downloading some file, and while I was downloading, it said I've got a very low amount of free disk space, which was then about ~50MB, and going down (drive C: ). I tried deleting some files (in total about 400MB), but it showed the same amount of free space, and kept going down. Ultimately, my download stopped because of this, and the free space is gone.I don't have System Restore enabled, it's disabled, on all drives (C: & D: ), and I don't think I have some kind of an automated backup program. Plus, my two drives are formatted in NTFS, not FAT. if that helps. I haven't tried to reset yet, but besides reset, is there anything else I should try?

Mar 23, 2006I'm running Windows XP sp2. Problem is, my C drive fills up. I have removed all but the latest restore point, reduced the max amount of restore point storage to 5%, and removed all of the programs that I don't use very often, moved all of my files to the D drive, clean the cache and remove cookies regularly, and use disk cleanup a lot. After all of this, I only have 1.25GB left in C drive. Not even enough space left to defrag the drive. Anyone have any suggestions? Before long I won't have ANY programs left. I don't use a TV card or anything like that, although I do have the capability to record but never use it.

Jul 8, 2008This error comes up no matter how I try to boot my Computer.Disable or uninstall any anti viruse, disk defragmanation or backup utilities... Then it goes on like that, and the technical information: STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FE 0xF7CDE6DC 0xF7CDE3D8 0xF731BF81) It started happening after I ran the new AVG Free 8.0 virus scanner. So maybe that's the problem? So far I haven't been able to even run in safe mode to disable it.

Clicking on ok cancells the whole cut/copy operation, which can leave you wondering what has or has not been moved and requires trawling through source and target location. Jan 7, 2005Continually getting the message that my virtual memory is low. Often my computer just locks up. I doubled the memory allocation, but it made no difference. I have Mcafee's virus scan running all of the time and I leave on the machine always. After I reboot it may take hours for it to happen again but it always happens. I saw something similar on another thread about removing programs from the startup file, but I was unable to find the msconfig file.

I reformatted my computer without WLM and defragging was not a problem, worked like a charm. So, I downloaded and installed WLM again, and lo and behold the same problem occurred, the defrag program would not defrag all the files. When I tried to install an update for SP2, I got an error message that the drive needs 1 more MB of free space. There's only 732KB free on C, but 14GB free on D, so I suspect the update is trying to go to C. Is there any way I can direct updates to D? Or, can the HDD be re-partitioned without losing what's on it?

Mar 14, 2006I've noticed sometimes that the Free Space on my harddrives won't reflect changes I've made. For example, on my 28.6gb F: drive, I had about 586mb free. I just deleted a video file of about 700 mb, so it should be up to about 1.2 gb. Oddly enough, its still at 586mb.
