Dec 24, 2004For some reason, the default menus did not get created at time of install.Is there a way to recreate the default indexes.

Start Menu/Programs Fly Out Menu List
Jul 28, 2005I am using Windows XP/SP2 a newish computer and some things changed from how it used to be.From the *Start* Button, there is the further button *Programs*. This then has the fly-out menu which used to open only the most recently accessed programs. Typically, after a boot it would show the items which opened in *Start-Up*, the rest were accessible only by hovering the mouse cursor over a button showing downward pointing arrows (more chevron like). This would then open the entire sub menu of programs to choose from. However, in the past week it now opens in that expanded view all the time. There is no sign of the little arrows anymore, and I always end up with a screen full of program lists whenever I go to Start/Programs.

Apparently the default selection governs what happens when you left click. I want to restore "open" as the default choice, but can't figure out how. Does it require a reg edit or a utility program or what? TIA

Jul 20, 2005I recently set up a dual boot system with XP Pro SP2 and x64 on one HDD. Now the boot menu shows x64 as the default Os. How can I switch the menu to default into SP2, instead?

May 9, 2006The problem is this - everytime I open up a folder within WinXp, a search window pops up instead. So, the only way I can view any specific folder, I have to right-click and then select 'open'. The right-click menu shows 'search' as the default, and I have browsed the registry to see if I can reset it back to 'open'. I have also browsed around the net to see if there is instructions to fix this issue, but I have had no luck.Whoever can solve my issue - it would be greatly appreciated.

I've walked her through the process of clicking on View at the top of the Outlook Express Interface and setting the Layout items so that her Contacts and Folder list should be on the screen, but they are not. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify the situation and I've run out of options. The way it is without her folders list she cannot access her deleted folder and her sent folder and cannot delete anything from those folders. First 2 for the intended ini, the second the old improper, though still currently functional, boot.ini.old. Both of these are on separate partions on the first internal hard drive, and I have tried turning off my 1 external during boot-up as well as disabling my 2nd internal on the "boot settings", with the same results.The default should be the "Graphics" system, according to the Boot.ini

All Programs List
May 31, 2006When I click on the "All Programs" in the start menu, it comes up in one long single listing.
It used to be 2 listings, when the 1st had enough, the second listing would be next to it. However it's all in a single listing now. How can I get it back to 2 lists??
