My computer is often showing blue screens and nothing I've done seems to correct the STOP 0x00000050 error about "page fault in the non_paged area". So I guess is time for me to back-up everything ASAP. Which I never did. Because I don?t know how. Could someone with good will guide me on the steps to get an EASY & SAFE back up using CD's ?

I was able to uninstall the McAfee Antivirus which I thought might be the problem, but still BSOD...

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn trying to get rid of some adware, I attempted to boot my computer (P4 2.8 GHz, 1.5 GB Ram, Windows XP SP2) in safe mode. When I selected "Safe Mode with Networking", I was brought to a blue screen called a "STOP ERROR SCREEN" - basically it said that it had to stop the booting up of the computer or the computer might be harmed. It suggested removing any recently installed hardware and disabling BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. So I rebooted and got into windows normally just fine.
Then I decided to try just regular Safe Mode (without networking) - when I selected that option, the computer started to do it, then rebooted and prompted me if I wanted to boot into Windows normally or safe mode, etc...I tried Safe Mode again - same thing, a reboot. I tried Safe Mode with Networking again - and I got the blue Stop Error Screen again.
This is pretty strange (at least I've never seen it) and I'd really like to be able to boot into safe mode.
The problem is on my buddies pc. It uses Windows XP Professional. I have it setup next to this pc I'm currently using. First I get this screen:

I cannot boot to Safe Mode. Using F8 at logo display, I can select Safe Mode, but never get there. I'm trying to help someone, and they have a folder with the files already available instead of a single backup.bkf file. He wants to restore everything to the original location before the computer restore. How can he do that with the folder he has instead of a backup.bkf file? Im using the "copy" option.so nothing has been appended or incremental.Im just looking to avoid deleting the setup i got, and maybe just delete a few "copy" backups so that theres not 8 gigs / 1 years worth of backups.i only need about 4 months I forgot about it.cuz i never neaded it. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm saving picture and video files on separate DVD-RWs. I have Easy CD Creator 5x basic that came w/ the computer and updated it with the patch 5.3.5.10_basic. I pulled my first DVD from a year ago out and added pictures onto it from this year's trip. Original files were there as expected and additions were no problem. Secondly, I started a 2nd disc of all video wmv files. I filled that one to the hilt and do not wish to add to what little room is left.My settings are set thusly: "The selected Record Method finalizes the session. The CD itself is not finalized so additional sessions can be added later. To change this setting click options."Actually, this is the setting I prefer, but in the case of the second disc, it's full for me now and if I wish to possibly play it on my DVD player it needs to be finalized.Problem is, this option isn't available (appears all faded-out) when I click on file, and appears the same to the lower right when I'm looking at disc properties. Only real option in bold black at these times is ERASE, and I don't want to do that! The discs play great on my computer, all material is recognized, etc., but this inability to finalize has me confused. Certainly in theory, a RW disc by its nature will never be truly finalized. The Adaptec Easy CD Creator will not work as a message comes up saying "Drivers are not compatible and could cause problems" so they don't load when I have reinstalled the program.This came with my computer when I bought it with win ME. I have the original disk. I have looked at the web site which now is Roxio, but cannot get a straight answer as to what and where the drivers are to download.
