Recently I am being inundated with annoying pop ups ususally advertising some product or other every time I log on to the internet and open a website.Can anyone please advise me how to stop these.
I have used Spybot, McAfee stinger, Ewido,AVG, Xsoft spy,Cclearer, Norton and possibly every othe rproduct on the market to remove adware/malware but to no avail.
Does anyone have any information on how to get rid of those annoying pop-up ads?

It stays on the screen anywhere from a couple to as many as ten seconds. Then it disappears. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems but it's just a pain. I?m running Windows XP SP2. I'm going to try to attach a screen shot of it.

When booting fresh, the desktop background picture will display; however, as boot process proceeds, the screen turns completely white. Can someone help me to get rid of this off my pc because it is getting annoying.The system file is not suitable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.Although all I have to do is click on the close link and it clears off the screen this is getting annoying every time I close out a program.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer has recently been getting an annoying amount of pop/ups for Winfixer, and WinAntispyware advertisements while surfing the web, but I haven't had it as a browser hijacker. Everytime I delete it from my registry site list it returns. I'm just wondering if what can i do to permanently get rid of this annoying pest. View 10 Replies View Relatedi'll start from the beginning. Today i accidentally clicked a random add and managed to get AV security suite downloaded into my comp, Very annoying program. So it blocked me out of all my settings and did the normal thing rogue spy-wares do. So i restarted and quickly ran msconfig and went into safe mode. I don't really know much about safe mode so i opted to do a system restore. I did it for 5 days ago, the 22nd and when i restarted. I had no audio device recognized and explorer wont stop crashing. As im typing this explorer has perma crashed and im deathly afraid of what i should do. Please help :[ I really depend on this comp for a lot of stuff and would hate to have something so stupid as a spy-ware destroy it.

My 10 year old daughter used my computer tonight to go to gaming sites.Now popups for gambling, sex, dating, virus removal software, spyware and malware removal, and herbal Viagra keep popping up. I've updated and scanned using Symantec Antivirus, Adaware, XCleaner Micro, Zone Alarm Internet Suite, and Spybot Search & Destroy. The most recent scan and fix using Spybot seems to have stopped them for at least the next few minutes. Below is my Hijack This log. Would someone please advise on what I can do to clean up my system? After about 5 hours of updating and scanning, I'm going to bed now. I will check back when I wake up.

Well, now shes saying that she is STILL getting popups, tons of them. I know I took them out because I surfed the internet myself, and I didnt get a single popup... I recently scanned with ewido and ad-aware, i could not run the ad-aware in smart scan mode (my computer would go to blue screen with fatal system error and would shut down if i did).I accidentally download a winfixer application a few months ago. I quickly uninstalled it after after reaslizing that it was not part of the windows secruity suite.
I recently downloaded ad-aware and scanned comp,the files are now quarantined, but i still get pop ups while using internet explorer.The last scan verified that i had trojans, and data miners all which were quaratined, but i still get pop ups (even with those sites on my blocked list). Is there anything i can do to stop the pop ups, and to over all get rid of the infection i have on my computer?
I've been having trouble with popups recently and can't seem to clear them. I updated both Spy Bot S&D and Ad-Aware, and ran some scans in safe-mode and a normal boot. I've also ran scans with Anti Virus which detected a couple of trojans.One of the main problems is a balloon popping up in the system tray (like in XP, although I'm using 2k Pro) telling me "Your computer might be at risk. Your virus protection status is bad. Spyware Activity Detected. Click this balloon to fix this problem". I'm fairly certain this is in fact some sort of spyware itself, and not a function of windows.Anyway, after running all of those scans I'm still having problems,

My grandmother bought a crappy old gateway laptop with XP on it (for 3 times what it was worth) from some guy she met. The whole thing was screwed up and practically unusable when she got it so she asked me to fix it. I already set up a working admin account and made it so it can do basic functions and everything last week. I've spent a lot of time on the microsoft websites help section trying different methods to fix different problem, finally got it to work with internet. But, assuming there are two versions, I think they installed the desktop version of WinXP on it.. It doesn't have any of the normal differences an XP laptop has vs an xp desktop, like it has no battery reading, and refuses to acknowledge it's a laptop and has a battery thus refuses to charge the battery, so it must be plugged in to work. I don't know the first thing to how to fix that. Also, I'm pretty sure these things come with wifi, it's not that old, it's a M405 like this one. It has no indication of capability to connect to wireless internet, so I have to keep the ethernet cable in at all times too.IE fails and as soon as I got it connected to the net 1000 popups started coming up, and it kept freezing going to websites and I kept having to ctrl+alt+del it, so I got safari and it's working a lot more smoothly.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy brother has Win XP Home Edition.2 days ago, he was surfing the net and was bombarded with 15-20 popups. While trying to close them, his computer froze. He rebooted, but he no longer has ANY Icons on his desktop nor does he have a start bar. Even in Safe Mode they aren't there. His desktop wallpaper shows, and you can ctrl+alt+del and get the task manager & go to programs that way, but that's about it. If he goes to the I-net thru task manager, he can get to his home page (msn), but is unable to check his hotmail (clicking on it doesn't do anything, it just doesn't go to the new page)
