View 4 RepliesI tried downloading various apps from the store, but the message I get was I can't install this app.For example, I tried to install PDF Reader 8, and I get error code 0x80070032. Does the error code reveal what the problem is? I am running Windows 8, not Windows 8.1, on the Lenovo IdeaPad.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOffice 2013 will not install on my computer. It starts going and at some point it just says there's an error and quits. It doesn't give me an error number or anything, it just stops. Here's a little context though:
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, and overall I've been very satisfied with the computer. However, it only came with a 128 GB SSD hard drive, so I decided to add another 128 GB SSD in the second hard drive slot. I got it in the computer and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. The only other thing I changed on my computer was to move the music library to the new hard drive. After adding the hard drive, I tried to use office some time later and it wouldn't work. I tried repairing it with the install disk, and it didn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it didn't work. It always just stops at some point as I said above. Is there a reason adding a hard drive or moving a library would effect Office?
I have the new laptop with Windows 8.Is there any way you can change the apps on the start menu to be programs so I can view them as windows on my Desktop? Like Skype and Video or Music. Because I don't really like having to change from app to app to app to desktop to do what I want.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI always wanted to make a small partition for the OS and use the rest of my HDD to store my apps and files but I couldn't format my PC as I had nowhere to back-up my work projects and files I'll need. So finally, I got an external HDD yesterday so I jumped quick on my PC to back-up my files and format (Note that my DVD reader is broken so I performed a clean install from a Partition where I stored Windows 8.1).
Everything went smooth but whenever I want to install a software or something, it default path is on A: (A: is the symbol of the small partition where I installed the OS). I want to install all my apps and store everything on the C: partition (Which is the main partition that have 550GBs).
I already changed the ProgramFilesDir's on the Regedit but whenever I want to install a software it still shows up as "A:" and even after manually changing it to C: the software doesn't lunch.

I'm also having another problem, after installing Windows 8.1, when my PC boots up it asks me from where I'd like to boot (Windows 8.1 or Windows 8). I want to delete that Windows 8 thing so it automatically boots on Windows 8.1.
using windows 8.1 change pc settings won't open...but store is working When I take change pc settings , it crashes back to start menu. Can't access any of the settings ! i tried SFC /SCANNOW in normal mode and safe mode but change pc setting won't opening !! i tried system restore also but there is a problem i am getting like this ..

View 1 Replies View RelatedSkype-Modern App
Ok, I'm using the Modern Skype app and I want to change my picture.
So I click on my user pic and I am taken to My Pictures folder.
But I don't wanna be there, so I "Go Up" to the Users Folder and click/open Play. But I do not see App Data listed.
What I would like to do is browse to this specific folder without leaving the Modern Skype app.
c:UsersPlayAppDataRoamingSkypePictures
Why? Because that is where the picture I wish to use is located. I am well aware that I could drop out of the Modern interface and copy/move the file from there to the My Pictures folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo just few days ago i was playing with my laptop and it got really slow, I though it might be programs I've had opened or something but I just noticed something
My fan doesn't seem to work when my CPU needs it, i used core-temp and the temperatures are at something like 80C and it feels much hotter than usual, however when i use the battery management to clear out the dust, the fan seems to work
I tried to install tpfancontrol but it gave me a winio.sys error, after some googling, it seems this is the program that allows communication between the hardware and the system.
Im running on windows 8 on a lenovo laptop g500, and it seems my fan works, but can't communicate with my system when it needs it?
So I've recently bought lenovo ideapad y510p (notebook) and when i am doing nothing or just browsing internet it's RAM usage is somewhere between 25% which is 4 gb. I think it's too much for only google chrome, skype, antivirus and OS. When I go to task manager it is saying that I use 500 mb of memory. So where is those 3-4 gb used ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have bought lenovo g50-70 just 20days back, it came with inbuilt windows 8.1, they did not give any recoverable disks with it rather they said to take back up of the OS into a usb stick but I forgot to take the backup and tried to partition the hard disk using EASEUS Partition manager then I got this error "0XC0000225"
I'm unable to boot the windows.
When I turned on my Lenovo y410p today I got a blue screen saying:
Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
The Booth Configuration Data file is missing some required information.
File: BCD
Error code: 0x000000d
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
The only option I have is: Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings
I have 64bit Windows 8. I have a Fat32 external hard drive I might be able to use to recover it - but what should I download? Also, can I try to do something in the UEFI settings to fix it?
I don't know how this happened but for a week every time I open my msn homepage this Lenovo site opens like a attachment to my home page. How can I eliminate this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHeres a little about my setup:
Lenovo Z580
Windows 8 Pro
1 single HDD split into 2 partitions, 1 for windows / program files, the other (data) for my data / downloads etc.
1 User account (administrator)
This began happening about a week ago, i first noticed it when i tried to download a file via Google Chrome, when i tried to save the file to my HDD (a 2nd partition on my disk) chrome told me I don't have permissions to save to this folder and that i should try to save it to user/downloads/ instead.
Since then I've found I am no longer able to write to that partition without either being prompted for elevated privs or being denied totally.
For example:
Download a file from the internet with chrome/firefox/IE
Extracting rar/zips files via right-click (i have to open them in winrar, and extract manually)
Create a folder in explorer: "Destination folder access denied", "You need confirm this operation"
I have UAC Settings are set to "Never Notify"
I've tried taking Ownership of every file/folder on my data drive
I've uninstalled all software (there where 3 applications installed since this started happening)
I've removed all windows updates since this started happening
Now I've ran out of things to try...
I recently bought Lenovo B590 laptop, installed Windows 8.1 Pro on it, downloaded/installed latest drivers from Lenovo from my laptop. I see a quite a lot blue screen errors. Most likely these started to appear after I installed and played "return to ravenhearst" game. But even I have uninstalled the game I still get the errors.
NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I downloaded test tools (memory, vide, motherboard, pci express) from Lenovo websites but they could not locate any problem (I ran these tests only once for a single pass).
I also executed "sfc /verifyonly" command and it found no problem.
I just bought a new Lenovo G580 that came with Windows 8 on it and I can't get into the BIOS settings in order to change the boot order....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought a new laptop Lenovo Z510 with 16GB of RAM already and it seems that I am dealing with tons of problems. I got it back to warranty they changed the RAM and the situation seems to have improved significantly.
But even with that I still have faced several BSODs and a lot of problems in the event viewer plus to random crashes for some some apps like firefox.
I attached the files hoping that we get this one sorted.
