View 4 RepliesI've got a tablet that runs Windows 8 pro. When the keyboard is up it takes up half of the screen, making is difficult to see whatever it is I'm working in and I can't figure out how to re-size it.
I'm also trying to re-size the tabs in Microsoft Excel. I know how to do this in Window 7 but I can't find the proper place with in the control panel in windows 8 to do it.
I have a Thinkpad X61 Tablet. It was running Windows 7 Ultimate before I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. When I invoked the Touch Keyboard in Desktop mode, the window would automatically resize as I type (i.e. window on top, keyboard below). However, this weekend I performed a clean install of Windows 8 since I wasn't happy with some of the quirks from an upgrade. Now, I can no longer get the automatic screen resize when I initiate the Touch Keyboard (i.e. window stays behind keyboard, making it hard to see what I am typing). Are there settings I need to change? Is it something that was carried over from Windows 7 during my upgrade but I deleted it with my clean install?
Update: Just figured out how to get the automatic resize. You have to maximize the Touch Keyboard. I guess I must have been using it in maximized form without realizing it.
I have a Tablet Windows 8.1 with a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse sculpt comfort. It is very annoying that the tablet wakes up just because of the mouse,.
Bluetooth seems to change everything. I can't see any power management option anywhere in the settings/device manager.
Is there a way to do it at least via the registry?
I have a Asus T100 tablet with 32GB SSD. I bought a 64GB SD card to augment the storage on the tablet. The problem I am having is that the SD card disconnects after a few minutes of no activity, I then have to take it out of the tablet and pout it back in. I then have the folder in my C Drive again. How do I prevent the SD card from disconnecting so that I can use it as additional storage?

5. None of the keys and keyboard shorcuts seem to work. But that is not the problem with keyboard because, I am able to type words in Wordpad and Notepad
I formatted my Windows 8 twice and still these problems are there. Even if I restart it, things work fine for 5 min and then the problem would be back.
we ordered a bunch of Asus T100TA transformer book tablets for a customer. One of them wouldn't recognize bluetooth or wi-fi and it had a problem with the Broadcom Serial Bus Driver over UART Bus Enumerator. After numerous driver downloads and installs and even a full factory restore (whatever option in windows 8 where it deletes everything and reinstalls the OS), the issue still persisted. Since the tablet was brand new, we just submitted a DOA request from our wholesaler and sent the tablet back. No big deal, figured it was a hardware issue. The other day, a Lenovo tablet came in with the EXACT same problem. Again driver installs, factory restore etc and the issue is still there. SO obviously it's not a hardware issue Again, both units have had drivers, bios and factory restores and the issue is still there, immediately after factory restore.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is a Samsung, about 9 months old and has a pretty good spec. Suddenly, over the past few days, I've noticed that the keyboard in lagging whenever I'm logged on. It's fine at the login screen but, once I've logged on the problem occurs - and it happens on all programs. I know that this is specifically an issue with Windows 8, as I have a virtual Ubuntu machine on here that is working fine.
None of the keyboard settings have been altered and no new applications have been installed or upgraded recently.
I have this issue for some days when i boot my PC. I only have my keyboard and mouse on USB, nothing else.
Here is the picture.
I'm using windows 8 pro which I upgraded from windows 7 home premium in january. After the upgrade, my e key stopped working. After another few months, more keys stopped working and now, no keys are working. What do I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWindows 8 has suddenly stopped to recognise my friends keyboard. Mashing Shift-F8 seems to let the keyboard work (for several minutes). All drivers are up to date, works perfectly in Safemode and BIOS. I have reinstalled windows 8 (its only used for web browsing) and nothing has worked. It is a Toshiba Satellite.

both users can log on using the log on boxes but one user looses keyboard functionality when the start screen/desktop appears.
Tried a new keyboard to no avail. I'm lost as to the cause as the usb wireless keyboard (microsoft) works for one of the two users.
Today i turned on my G73JH today and my keyboard is not working, I have windows 8.1 and had to use the on screen keyboard to type anything in. The keyboard works fine when i press F2 to go into the bios and and can navigate around the bios no problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to pair my Bluetooth keyboard in Windows 8.1, I get the error "That didn't work", with the subtext "Try again, and make sure your keyboard is still discoverable."
Given the uselessness of the error message, I don't even know where to start troubleshooting.
I was tinkering with a few keys on my keyboard, changing the default key operations of W, A, S, & D to UP, LEFT, DOWN, & RIGHT. It's a day later and I can't remember how to change it back!
Which setting I can change to have a default keyboard?
I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit & using a Lenovo ThinkPad
I did download autohotkey & wrote a script altering the function of said keys, but I've since killed the process.
I have a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 USB keyboard. When I restart Windows 8 using Advanced Startup Mode I get the familiar menu where you have to enter F1-F9 to select an option (or F10 for more options). My keyboard doesn't work, however. I tried pressing all of the F-keys but none of them are recognized.
I am pretty sure it's not a BIOS issue because whenever I do a cold boot I can get into the BIOS by pressing the DEL key so I know the keyboard is recognized by my system. why I can't use my keyboard in Windows 8 Advanced Startup?

My mouse or Keyboard or both suddenly without warning will stop functioning. Sometimes one or the other sometimes both. I tried running a game for a small bench test and it dropped the mouse and keyboard so I had to use the reset button to get out.
On PC, has a problem with the PS2 keyboard and mouse staying on after the PC is turned off...the lights are still on.
The only thing different when I had it was the keyboard and muse and the OS....I use a logitech G510 and a Razer DeathAdder, both USB and the OS was 7 Ultimate 64 bit. My sons system is running 7 Pro 64 bit and using an old OEM HP keyboard/mouse.
I have a pretty good keyboard at my pc and i am sure that nothing rong with it but some times it just stop working, and the all the lights turn off with no warning, after that, about 1-2 min the keyboard just keeps pressing up to 10 sec the key I press...

This is a bit of a weird one. Sometimes (perhaps 1 in 20 boots) after logging into my account, the keyboard mapping is screwed up - for instance, typing 'a' on the keyboard displays 'h' or some other random letter or symbol, most other key mappings are messed up also.
When this first occurred, I enabled the touch keyboard, but found that the screwed mapping matched the USB keyboard. Also tried disconnecting/reconnecting the keyboard and uninstalling/re-installing from Device Manager, but no change.
Sometimes the problem goes away after a few minutes, other times I have to log out or reboot.
I figure that it must be something related to the user account, as it would be impossible to login otherwise.
The machine is fully patched, has the latest 8.1 Intel Chipset updates and a clean bill of health according Norton Internet Security.
ive been having this for ages on my windows 8 acer laptop, randomly my keyboard doesnt work anymore (happend 5months ago) ive been using desktop keyboard since
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy keyboard doesn't work correctly. In most programs and on webpages, the number keys do not work nor do the special characters accessed through the shift key. Sometimes they act like the space bar, other times they repeat the previously typed alpha character.
All works perfectly in MS Word. The numbers on the keypad do work in all programs. I've checked the control panel and can't find any settings that appear to influence this - no accessibility settings, nothing.
I have to work across three PCs, for which I use a KVM switch. But while I'm on PC 2 or 3 I like to make notes on PC 1, so I use a Bluetooth keyboard and a second monitor which is always on PC1. This has been working fine for weeks.
PC1 is Windows 8.1. Every few days I've had to reconnect the keyboard by going to Bluetooth, detecting it and pairing it again. Windows gave me a code to type into the keyboard and I was away, no problem.
Since Wednesday (23rd) I've been unable to do this. The PC detects the keyboard after a longer search than before. It pairs with the keyboard and says it's connected but the keyboard doesn't work. When I return to the Bluetooth screen, it's gone from the list of devices. I've replaced the keyboard batteries and tested it with my iPad, where it works perfectly well. So my sequence is:
type Bluetooth at Windows home pagesearch for devicesthe keyboard is foundclick Pairwait ...'Enter the passcode for your keyboard; you might need to enter the same passcode into the keyboard'ClickTtry entering a passcode on itcode comes upput it in. 'connecting' then 'Bluetooth 3.0 keyboard connected'; graphic shows still searching for devicesafter close Bluetooth Devices window, keyboard doesn't workReturn to Bluetooth screswitch keyboard off and on, it disappears from devices list
I wanted to install fastboot driver for my xperia SP, so i disabled driver enforcement at start up settings and from then on my keyboard on the laptop doesn't work. I am using windows 8.1
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a SVT11215SG - SVT11215SG : VAIO - Tap 11 : VAIO® Notebook & Computer : Sony Malaysia Everything was working great, no issues, upgraded to Windows 8.1 smoothly.
But a few months later, suddenly the wireless keyboard stops working.
I have tried almost everything to get it to work again but nothing has worked so far.
Following are a list of things I have tried:
1. Use the pairing tool. (Got an error saying "Fail to get the dongle handle".
2. Reset the BIOS settings to default.
3. Reinstall Bluetooth and Wireless drivers.
4. Manually remove the drivers from Device Manager and reinstall them.
5. Use the Sony Vaio Care to get the latest updates.
6. Download and install the updates manually.
7. Check Windows Update for any optional updates.
I later found out that the keyboard does not work in BIOS either so I am not sure if it's a hardware issue. But the lights on the keyboard blink as normal when I turn it ON.
Will I really have to reinstall Windows? If yes, is it okay to reinstall Windows on such a tablet PC?
I have a new Dell Inspiron 2350 windows 8.1 for the last week or so the usb wireless keyboard and mouse do not work when the system is booted or after coming out of deep sleep mode. I have to unplug the usb dongle and plug it in again for them to work.
I have already checked the powering saving settings for these devices, and it is disabled. There is no setting in the bios that I can see which would cause this. I have re-installed the drivers. I have tried different USB port. Dell have even replaced the keyboard and mouse and batteries, same problem.
I reinstalled my 8.1 pro (legal copy, disk been fully formatted) and it was okay for few hours. Next time im starting the laptop, my keyboard and touchpad doesnt work. I plugged USB mouse and keyboard and it works just fine. I went to device manager and besides Standart PS/2 keyboard and mouse icons there was orange triangle meaning that i have problem with drivers. I searched drivers online, but unsuccsessily.. After few hours of trying to fix it, my Standart PS/2 Keyboard turned into Unknown device and now im completely lost. Adding photo of device manager
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to windows 8. I was previously using a logitech mk320 mouse/keyboard and experiencing the same issues. So I purchased the new K330 setup that is windows 8 compatible, but again same issues. A little less frequently, but same issues.
Basically the keyboard will randomly have a 3 to 15 second delay when typing. To make it worse when it does finally pick up it leaves out letters making it very hard to type anything. Secondly the mouse will also randomly be very choppy. Not completely unresponsive, but skip over large sections of the screen. It's almost like the batteries are dying, but I have replace them 2 times now with fresh ones.
I have some problems ....
1. My keyboard cant properly type in " without me inputting another input. so everytime i wanna type in " i need to click space just to make it appear. how do i make it normal?
2. My date and time keeps changing and it makes me lose track of time quite a lot. its already set to automatic internet time, but it keeps changing still. i keep changing it back, resyncing and stuff. How to make it stop?
