It never happened before. Also I got a boat of crap that I had to delete, and I hope I did not delete the wrong thing. I'm also getting these pop ups that keep popping up, and never had this happen before. and I also have these videos that pop up as well.
I have a windows 8 laptop and today the sound just stopped working. The windows audio service will not enable and everytime i try to enable it fails due to a duplicate in Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.
Now tricky part is i cant open control panel as it doesn't load, i tried reinstalling windows 8 but it also not load. This all was working perfectly just earlier today. I have no sound, just an x by the sound.
So about a month after I bought my computer,all of a sudden there was no audio comming from my headphones or speakers. i do have to say that windows 8 was a bit new for me because i was using windows xp the only way i can get audio now, is by plugging in a usb with bluetooth connection. even HDMI won't work. i'm getting no errors when running errorchecker.

I have a dual boot Win 7, Win 8 setup. Suddenly the audio has stopped working on Win 8. (Works fine on Win 7) I checked for driver updates, even "installed" an old driver which didn't actually install. The volume control shows its trying to work, puff of green comes and goes at the bottom of the slider.
However I've tried "cleaning" for other concerns and that made a real mess of the setups for several programs. I suppose I could do a refresh but that's equivalent to a re-install..
Okay well this happened like 2-3 weeks ago, i have an extremely annoying problem.. The sound of my computer would randomly stop working for some reason.. Not only that, but when i watch youtube the video or any video it won't load and it would literally pause or freeze.
To fix this i would have to disconnect/reconnect my headset or disable/enable my headset through the sound control panel; when i do this, it seems to fix everything, as the sound would come back and the videos would load back up and work normally again, but in 20min or 1hour the same problem would occur again and i would have to do the same process over and over again..
My OS is windows 8.1
And my headset is a Logitech H540
I have windows 8 pro in my desktop.When i started to run nfs mw 1 it opened but while loading for gameplay it stops working and windows says that there is a problem to work the program properly,so i will have to close it.I have tried for all compatibility mode but its still does not work.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis evening I went to use by portable USB drive and noticed it wouldn't work. I tried another port and it still didn't work. I then tried another device on the same ports and it also did not work.
I opened up device manager and saw that my VIA USB xHCI controller was no longer listed under USB controllers. I turned on Show Hidden Devices and it then appeared as a hidden device. I attempted to re-install the drivers for it but the installer wouldn't run because it said it didn't detect the hardware on the system.
I last used the ports 2 nights ago and didn't have any problem then. I thought the problem may have been caused by the Windows updates I installed today so I uninstalled them all, but the USB controller still doesn't work.

My almost year old razer naga epic stopped working and just a little while ago was working perfectly. When I left and came back about 15 minutes later, it stopped working. I tried to use wired mode with/without a battery, I tried re-pairing wireless mode and,7 resetting my computer. I also tried other usb ports on my computer and another computer. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 8.1 Lenovo notebook and a Toshiba Satellite Windows 7 laptop, and a mouse.
Well, the mouse has been working fine for 4 months, but suddenly, the mouse has stopped working in my Toshiba laptop. As I didn't know how to fix it, and as Toshiba laptop was full of crap, I've just formatted its HDD and made a clean install of Windows 8.1 and updated everything.
After that, I've plugged the mouse in and the same error: it connects and disconnects all the time. Sometimes, if I'm in the Device Manager refreshing the devices, mysteriously it start to work, but just for a few minutes. Sometimes, and just sometimes, the Device Manager shows that there's an unknown device connected to a USB port that is not working. The error code is 43.
That mouse works perfectly in my other notebook, the lenovo. I've connected a different mouse to the Toshiba and it works perfectly, in any port. So that makes me say this:
-The mouse is not broken, cause it works in my other laptop
-Toshiba's USB ports work nice cause any other device I connect works seamlessly
-After a clean install, it can't be a software problem
I have a MacBook Pro running Windows 8 (via BootCamp) and I was running games on Steam.
Randomly, the game froze, and my Xbox 360 controller stopped responding. When I exited out to try and fix the problem, the trackpad stopped working completely and the whole thing froze.
Upon restart, the trackpad simply doesn't work (still doesn't) and I have to use a mouse to control it at all.
I reinstalled all of the BootCamp drivers, and it still doesn't work.
I've started getting the message Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Center has Stopped Working (see error report below) when Windows 8 starts. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of the Mouse & Keyboard Center but still have the same problem.

I own an hp pavilion sleekbook 15. Just out of the blue my mouse and touch pad stopped working after a restart. I download a new driver from the hp website, synaptic touch ps/2, installed it and still nothing. After several tries I don't know what to do anymore. I checked the device manager and nothing is installed, when I check the control panel it says reinstall.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently switched my pc from 2 AMD cards to 2 Nvidia cards, when i was preparing to install the 2 cards, i shut down my computer, during the shutdown it asked me to update and shutdown win 8 which i did. ever since i did that my audio devices are not detecting.. nothing i do is working.
When i use my plug and play speakers, they are not recognized... let me rephrase.. in the playback devices menu they show up as "Speakers" as they always have, then quickly disappear, then show up again, then disappear again, then back and forth over and over and over again..... i tried uninstalling my audio drivers and reinstalling. this did not work. i can get sound with the speakers, by just pluggin them into my TV, but i cant control the audio or the 5.1 surround from the tv, it just shows them as stereo...

i never had this problem until A) new cards, and B) installed the win 8 update... But i rolled my computer back to a date before that update, and then turned updates off in case that was it..
i've also tried installing drivers directly from realtek, directly from my motherboard website. i've uninstalled and reinstalled, and stopped windows from auto installing during my realtek installs on the drivers...
just cant figure out why it flickers like that, the speakers work fine in other devices (e.g the tv).

When I watch YouTube videos I get random stutters where the sound skips. The image doesn't seem to freeze though, just the sound
I also get issues with the sound streaming music online, where it pauses for a second and stutters even though it's not buffering.
When this happens, NT Kernel & System shoots up in task manager and uses more CPU than the browser. This by the way happens in every browser, IE, Chrome or Firefox.
It doesn't happen when playing music in iTunes or watching videos from my hard drive.
That being said I'm not posting about a buffering type stutter, I am aware of that and this is not it. This is like basically suddenly the computer has a big spike in memory or cpu usage and the video/sound clip stutters for a sec. But it happens often enough to be very annoying. In a 15 min YouTube clip it happened 10 times.
I have reinstalled my IDT High Definition Codec and my Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver, but still the problem persists.
I've had this laptop over a year now, and just recently I've noticed when I leave it on a while and come back, either the audio of the entire laptop will die, or online videos just won't play. After restarting it goes back to normal until a few hours later when it happens again. I'm not sure what to do here.

View 9 Replies View Relatedtoday I was makeing an essey in microsof office and suddenly my mouse and keyboard. stopped working, replugging the devices didn't worked (did it for 5 times ) , after this I tried to restart the pc I found out that rr button doesn't do anything , after I stopped the power going to pc and open power + pc they worked for only a few seconds and then stopped again . After a few force shutdown( by stopping the power) the pc closes itself after the windos 8 img dissapear . I have a desktop dual core 3.1, 4gb ram , mouse is usb and the keyboard is with Ps/2 .
Update : after waiting 30 min I reopend it, all worked , but after approximate 3 min pc shuted down by itself.
For some reason the Windows 7 style desktop snap has stopped working, I can still snap a metro app to the side of my monitor but not an ordinary program like note pad. I used to either drag the window to the side of the screen or press Windows Key and an arrow to snap it to the left or the right.

Same with moving my mouse to the top left corner of the screen. I checked the properties by right clicking the task bar. About two weeks ago I began to notice strange behavior on my PC which made me think it may be a virus. Some examples:
1. When I'm online a message window frequently appears stating "internet explorer has stopped working"
2. Some websites do not display adverts on the page. I've attached a screenshot from youtube to illustrate what I'm referring to.
3. Some webpages will not load. I keep seeing "webpage under maintenance at this time". This is typical for websites at certain times but to see it every time I try to access is suspicious.
4. I use Hotmail and typically the first time I start it up in the day I notice that the first email I open causes the entire page to go blank as if it erases everything on it, it then reopens with all of my emails listed and finally the email I began to read will reopen. This only happens after I boot my system and open the first email. This will not happen on any other computer.
5. I seem to be having issues installing certain programs. They won't install citing various reasons such as outdated files, incompatible etc. These were all working flawlessly prior to reformatting my system.
6. I'm unable to post messages even though I'm logged in. When I type a message I see the timer cycling but it never posts my messages, it's as if it's stuck in a loop or frozen.
Having felt that a system reformat was in order I did just that not more than a week ago. Everything was reinstalled and updated. Once all the Windows 8 files were installed I began to notice the exact same problems surfacing immediately. I'm currently using Win 8 with IE 10. 16 GB RAM, 64 bit OS. The computer itself is an HP and a year old.
Recently I updated my laptop and when it was finished updating the keyboard no longer worked. Before the update it worked fine and I had no problems. I restarted it several times and restored it but still nothing. Now I am stuck using the on screen keyboard which is difficult. I also went to try and fix it using device manager but it wasn't listed.

There are also lots of other files with errors. I think this was caused by my faulty SSD and when I re-imaged back to my new drive, these errors are still present.
Do I need to re-install windows or can I repair install without losing my profile and data? I'd rather repair than re-install.
