View 5 RepliesMy system was working really gr8 till last week.. and one fine day, i had done some updates for my win7, then it asked me to reboot and as i did.. i got the boot screen and i selected win7 and i got win7 logo blinking.. and then it again rebooted.. and this time it went to startup repair.. after i run startup repair, luckily i had some restore points.. and after i restored my system.. everytime till now , it goes to startup repair everytime i boot my system ..win7 still asks to get updated and everytime i do it or without updating also it goes to startup repair and again i restore.. it is like a loop

Then I created my System Repair disk (single disk). Does this disk include all software and windows updates that were on my computer at the time I created the disk? I have read that System Repair disks will only have the factory settings of Windows 7, but I don't know if this is the case for all System Repair disks or only those that came with the computer and were made before the computer was purchased?I've also read that a System Repair disk could include a system image. Is this true and done by default when the System Repair disk is created?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am pretty sure that a virus cause this, right before my computer shut down on it's own my anti virus popped up and said that a Trojan was found but I didn't have to do anything. Then the computer shut down and when it restartrd started to load files and then go into startup repair, only it couldn't fix it. I tried a restore, but again it said that the startup files wern't there. I just quickly scanned the diagnostic details and noticed something that said "boot critical file C:CI.dll is corrupt".

Just goes to black screen w/blinking cursor then goes to 'startup repair' (which I'm postiive this is a virus of somekind) & will not allow me to do anything. Just repeats itself. I downloaded Windows 7 repair to a CD-R, chgd BIOS settings to CD/DVD to boot first, saved changes, and will NOT pull/boot up from disc. I've tried 2diff repair discs, both do not work. 'F8' does not do anything for me, not able to get to 'safe mode'. Computer is only 2yrs old.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.

HD. would selected by them.The system copy come on the ext. HD and than done.Okay so far so good, but now is the moment there is a problem when I get my repair cd and load it, when it is loaded in the system, than see I the option Repair with system installation copy.When I hit that option than get I the error message, there is not a system copy on the Computer.No it is not on the Computer it is on my ext. HD.
