View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 monitors set up,
Primary: Samsung Syncmaster 19 Inch widesreen 1400 * 900
Secondary: LG E2541 25 Inch Widescreen 1980 * 1080
OS: Windows 7 64bit
VideoCard: Nvidia Geforce 560 Ti
I use my primary mostly for browsing, msn, music players, Ventrilo etc etc,I want to use my secondary Monitor for gaming Watching Videos. However, when i want to use something Full screen on my secondary monitor it goes full screen on the primary monitor.
I cant also run it in windowed mode and stretch it out to full screen, it does not allow me to do that, it goes back to the size of my primary Monitor.
Ps.I want this since i play mostly with fullscreen borderless or in windowed mode so i can still browse the internet or adjust music/ventrillo settings. I dont want to have an Taskbar below the game, so thats why i need it on the Second Monitor.
my display screen does not fit my monitor and i dont know how to make it fit it is a 1920x1080 ASUS VS239H

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't really explain it, cause my keyword lead me to Alt+Space+M.
It's different because the way it works just different. In Ubuntu, You can Hold down ALT Button and drag a window whenever you want to go. (This kind of ability I want to talk about)
I encountered some installer like AutoCAD, even with full resolution of my laptop (1920x1080) The window still show 90% of it, which is bad because the important button are on the bottom like [Next] [Cancel] [Install] [Finish], etc. I tried to drag it to the top, but Windows 7 won't let me do that. Also, the installation screen doesn't have ability to Maximize.
I cannot seen the bottom of the screen or window(full window or bottom tab) when it is maximized. I am facing this problem since two days, earlier it ok( i use to see full window when it is maximized).
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone know if one can enlarge the window for entering a password on the welcome screen?
Possibly due to my screen resolution settings, the login area for my password is quite small. Once the password is entered and the system finishes booting - everything is the size I like - which is on the larger side since I tend to sit relaxed and away from the 20" screen.
It's probably something simple but I haven't found it yet. Any way to set ALL new windows to full screen rather than the standard 1/3rd screen?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to restore a Window's 7 operating system with an upgrade disc which wasn't used with the original upgrade? If I use this upgrade, does it count as usage. I bought the 3 upgrade disc and have used 2 of them with one left. I just need to fix this computer which has a legit Windows 7 operating system, valid key but without the original disc. I'm not sure if I should use this disc or buy an upgrade disc or a full install.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using windows 7 for about 1 month now, up from XP.There are a few issues I do not like but I am trying to cope with them.I would like to be able to move a window without it automatically resizing to full screen mode. What happens is: if I grab a window (at top bar) with mouse and pull it to top of screen and the mouse touches the upper limit of my screen, the window gets resized to full screen mode. How do I stop this from happening? Can I turn this off somewhere
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access Firefox, Google Chrome, IE or any other program that starts internet access I get a flash of the screen and then nothing. View 1 Replies View RelatedIf a window is moved above the screen so that parts are out of view, it is automatically resized to fit in view. Is there a way to disable this?
In Ease of Access Center, I checked "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of screen," but that only stops it from maximizing.
I have been encountering a problem with a small netbook which has a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. The problem is that the window of some application is un-resizable ( I've also tried to download a small registery hack which makes it possible to resize un-resizable windows, but it seems like it won't work with that one)So, as you know, it is possible to partially hide a window on the left, right and bottom borders of the screen, but it is impossible on the top border, where the window would just go down again (while it can't be maximized though ).Is there any way to make it possible to hide a part of the windows over the top border so I can see the bottom of the window ?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have two computers that have win 7 x64 pro/ult. Recently, both computers, after typing in my poassword for login to windows, I get the desktop, icons, the hardware meter gadgets, then a windows pops up, near the top left corner, about a 1/6 of the screen size, and it immediately closes. It isn't there long enough for me to read anything in it, or even see if there is anything in it. Under start-up folder in the start menu, both computers do have logitech registration.
I click it, fill it out, and re start the computer. Still happens, and the start up folder still has logitech's product registration there. I complete it, restart the computer, and the window still shows up, then closes. Damn near instantly. Under start-up, the logitech thing is gone, so it is blank. But it still happens. Installing the webcam and using it for Logitech Vid, is the only thing I have changed recently on both computers. Also, windows 7 did have an update. I have no idea what to look for in regedit.
Recently with items pinned to my Quickbar, when a window is open and moved off screen the quick-launch shortcut is removed (so that when you hover over the quickbar icon, nothing displays). Normally you can always see the "shortcut" display of any window of that type open.In my opinion this is a great feature which allows me to remove clutter on the taskbar while still keeping the window open. This "feature" isn't working right now (i.e. no matter where the window is, minimized or off screen the "shortcut" display on the quickbar always displays it), and I was wondering if Windows was bugged, or if this is a toggle-able feature.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dell desktop computer with windows 7. As soon as you turn it on it goes straight to the "windows error recovery" screen where it has the option to either start system recovery or start windows normally. If I choose system recovery, it just gets stuck on a screen that looks similar to the backround of the loggin screen, but it's just the backround and my mouse. It will stay on this screen for hours until I turn it off. If I start windows normally, it will have the regular "starting windows" screen then it will flash back to the "windows error recovery" screen. If I try booting into safe mode, or loading the last good configuration, it will always bring me back to "windows error recovery". I have the 2 recovery disks I made when the computer was first bought, but when those are inserted, nothing happens and I'm not sure how to open them, it just always ends up at the "windows error recovery" screen. This computer is only about a year old and I have no idea what to do. I just need it to start up again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an MSI Laptop which I bought about a year ago was running fine and at the beginning of September started having the issue of a black screen, for about 45-60 seconds, between the windows logo and the desktop loading.
The laptop has:
Intel Core i7 460M Processor 2.53Ghz
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
4G DDR3 memory
Nvidia GeForce GT 540M
15.6" 1366x768 HD
Intel® HD Graphic VGA
[code].....
The above 3 files exist in the directories asked for so not sure why it can't load them.Although the laptop works fine when it's loaded, the additional time on this blackscreen is just winding me up as it didn't do it before.
I am having a strange issue that appears to be related to my video driver, settings, etc.
I play several different video games on my PC and each one of them has the option to play in Windowed mode or Full Screen mode. Until recently switching a game to full screen mode made it fill up the entire window. In the last day or so, something has changed where now the game doesn't re-size itself when in full-screen mode. Instead, it stays the same size and a black border is drawn around all four sides. To make things ever weirder... it doesn't do this on all my games, but it does it on most.
Here are some screenshots to demonstrate the issue more clearly.
Regular Windowed Mode
Full Screen Mode
I have tried everything I can to fix it but I am stumped. I have changed various settings for each game but nothing has worked. I have also looked around at the settings in Windows 7 but I couldn't find anything that fixed it.
Motherboard: MSI Z68A-G45
Nvidia GTX 580 (Latest 285.62 Drivers)
Windows 7 64 Bit
I've had this computer about 2 months and everything was working great until today. This problem started out of nowhere. I didn't mess around with drivers etc.
Anyway, when I switch on my computer, the bios screen loads up..followed by the Windows 7 loading splash screen. Then just when the welcome screen should appear, my monitor turns to standby and says that it's not receiving an input signal.
I booted in safe mode and removed the drivers. I restarted my PC and it worked and my desktop appeared. However when i install the drivers again and restart the computer as required by the driver installation..the same problem as above reappears.
My monitor is connected via a HDMI cable to the GTX 580.
EDIT: When I go to device manager and right click the GTX 580..there is an option to roll back drivers. I clicked this and it now shows as a VGA Adapter. I restarted and my computer booted up...but obviously in low resolution as no previous drivers were ever installed since i bought the PC with up to date drivers.
I also just installed 290.53 BETA drivers. Restarted and my computer now just hangs at the welcome screen. I can still boot in safe mode which is how i'm managing to write this.
my new laptop's screen has a weird stain at the bottom, I can't get rid of it can you guys tell me what is it and how can I fix it myself? I still got the warranty but I don't want to send the laptop to repair because It's too much trouble there must be a way I can fix it myself so
Here's a picture of the stain I took 4 different pictures and put them together in 1 single picture.. (stain is in the middle)
I have a dual monitor setup, with a 1280x1024 VGA monitor coupled with a DVI 1920x1080 monitor. I use the 1920x1080 one as primary, because I like to play a few videogames and they're much better on the widescreen (and higher res).
However, I'd like to be able to display the windows 7 logon screen on the secondary (vga) monitor, it's just a minor bug but I'd like it that way because whenever I wake up my computer, the vga monitor wakes up almost instantly but the widescreen seems to take a few seconds to wake up, and I'd like to be able to input my password and start using my PC right away - I use an nvidia card if that means anything (maybe the ati drivers support it but not nvidia I don't know).
This am I booted my computer to; find everything was twice the size it usually is there by requiring me to scroll right to left and from up to down to read my home page.

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy laptop has an ati x1600 mobility card and is outputting via hdmi (mini dvi-actually) to an ASUS VH242H (full 1080p) monitor. When I had this connected running xp I had not problem with the screen resolution and size, but now that I'm running windows 7 the 1920x1080 resolution is available, but the picture doesn't fill the whole screen, there is like a 1" black box around the displayed screen.
I believe it has something to do with my display driver, I'm currently using the one provided by windows update.
