Open New Window In Full Screen
Oct 26, 2009It's probably something simple but I haven't found it yet. Any way to set ALL new windows to full screen rather than the standard 1/3rd screen?

View 9 RepliesI have been using windows 7 for about 1 month now, up from XP.There are a few issues I do not like but I am trying to cope with them.I would like to be able to move a window without it automatically resizing to full screen mode. What happens is: if I grab a window (at top bar) with mouse and pull it to top of screen and the mouse touches the upper limit of my screen, the window gets resized to full screen mode. How do I stop this from happening? Can I turn this off somewhere
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a strange issue that appears to be related to my video driver, settings, etc.
I play several different video games on my PC and each one of them has the option to play in Windowed mode or Full Screen mode. Until recently switching a game to full screen mode made it fill up the entire window. In the last day or so, something has changed where now the game doesn't re-size itself when in full-screen mode. Instead, it stays the same size and a black border is drawn around all four sides. To make things ever weirder... it doesn't do this on all my games, but it does it on most.
Here are some screenshots to demonstrate the issue more clearly.
Regular Windowed Mode
Full Screen Mode
I have tried everything I can to fix it but I am stumped. I have changed various settings for each game but nothing has worked. I have also looked around at the settings in Windows 7 but I couldn't find anything that fixed it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I search in Windows 7, I want to have the ability to open found folders in a new window. If I r-click, that option is not there. Is there a way to add this to Windows 7?
Also: When I go to 'open file location', the file's folder opens in the same window - highly annoying. In Vista, it opens in a new window. Anyway to change this behvior in Windows 7 to act like Vista, so the file opens in a new window?
Full screen game will full screen when I use Vista and XP. When I use Seven, the side will become dark.
But when I use fraps to take screenshot, it appears to be full screen image. So, i have to draw it out. Any idea?
when comes to PC with Windows 7 (which I hate BTW! For me best was the one before "Vista" - I think it was "Windows XP"?)!That said - when using IE8 every single time when I click a link the page opens up in new window but reduced in size and I always have to "maximize" it to view it. It is driving me nuts! I have been told more than once that a window will open the same way that it was closed - not true! Reduced window does not happen when using Mozilla. Must be simple option for me to make a change - but how? Where?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently received a new computer at work with Windows 7 loaded on it. In the upper right-hand corner of any window, there is a pushpin icon beside the minimize icon. I can use this to pin any open window so that it always stays on top. I didn't realize that this feature is available on Windows 7, and it is not visible on my Windows 7 installation at home (this is an office computer). How to activate it?

After going past the first screen - you know the little one, where you can choose how you want to load it and such - well if i choose to load it in a window it doesn't load. View 3 Replies View Relatedproblem is that when i go to microsoft word or powerpoint or excel, i press the "open" button and nothing happens. absolutely nothing as in no window will pop up that has the c: drive similar to when you run windows explorer or anything. i should add that windows explorer still works, its just using the "open" or "browse" button that nothing happens. This also happens in other programs as well i just cant think of them at the moment. The problem seemed to start one day when i was playing a computer game and i was also using deskspace (for organization) what happened was that the game switched to a completely seperate desktop and changed one of the desktop wallpapers. if you dont know deskspace is a virtual desktop manager that organizes it like a cube (cube desktop is better but i cant get it to let me change the icons on each desktop which completely defeats the purpose for me. Deskspace is somewhat similar to compiz for anyone who knows about that program for linux. So back to the problem after that i went to change the wallpaper back to what it was before, and i pressed the "browse" button and nothing happened. I didnt really think much of it until i tried to use word today and pressed "open" and nothing happened. from there i tried various programs and none seemed to work.
