How To Have Media Player 12 Open In Full Screen As Default

Oct 15, 2012

I can't find a way to have Media Player 12 open in full screen every time I open a video, mp3, wmv or whatever. I don't want to mess with the registry. Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere? System is Windows 7, Home edition 64bit, 12GB ram, Intel i7 6-core 3.2GHz, 2TB hard drive, ATI Radeon HD5570 graphics.

Possible To Set Windows Media Player Open As Default Media Player

Oct 29, 2012

I wanted to ask if it is possible to set Windows media player to open as the default player inside media center. The reason that I ask this is that I find media center sound is very low quality. I am using it inside windows 7 ultimate X64. I also use Media Browser and have set it to use media player as an external player but it loses some functionality after something is played I have to restart media center and media Browser to play anything again because it will go back to menus but not play anything untill

Windows 7 Media Player Not Full Screen?

Jul 12, 2011

When I run and view certain *.mpg and *.mp4 file through Windows Media Player Ver12, the video itself appears in the middle of the screen - a large black border appears to the left and to the right of the screen. If I click the view full screen, the two black borders are still visible albeit not as wide as beforeThe problem started a few weeks ago - before that, whenever I played the above noted files, the video took up the whole screen.

Media Player 12 Full Screen Problem

Dec 30, 2009

this is a recurring problem that i always seem to have when i get a new version of windows or windows media player.

I can't seem to get any videos i open to automatically fill up my screen as i have before i normally find out how to do this myself but this time i can't.

In the past i would set video size to 200%, fit video to player and then set the player size to my desired size and then videos would always start covering most of my screen. However when i try this now very new video i open resets the size of the player to 200% of the video instead of retaining the size i gave it earlier.

In short i want to have all my videos open so that they cover my screen but so i still have access to my taskbar (so not pressing Alt-Enter).

Change Default Media Player / Icons On Media Files Not Changed

Nov 28, 2012

I have VLC Portable as the default program for opening some video files, like .mp4 and .avi. And I have Foobar (portable) as the default program for .mp3.Usually the icons on .mp4, .avi, .mp3 files get updated with the icons of the assigned media players. But on this PC it's not working. They're still the same icons as if WMP was the default player.Does it have to do with the Standard user account? (Because on other PCs I run from an Admin account and I don't have such problems.)

Media Player - How To Change Default Window Size

May 18, 2009

Whenever I play a video file (.wmv, mpg, etc) or audio (.mp3), MP starts out at the last size it "remembered." But when it opens the file and starts playing it, the window gets really small, like a default size and makes it difficult and annoying to re-size it to an appropriate size. Most annoying is MP becomes smaller such that the volume control on it disappears to just being a toggle for mute. Is there any way to change the default size of MP?

Windows Media Player Will Not Open

Feb 16, 2011

My default is WMP for playing CD's and DVD's. I have a Toshiba NB 305 netbook, Windows 7. I copied a DVD from a friends LG Portable Super Multi drive (her computer is XP - in case this might be important?)to my external HD. Something from my Norton popped up earlier regarding GEAR software, but I did not understand it and so dismissed it, at the advice of a friend...I am not so computer savvy. Since then I cannot even access my Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player 12 Updates The Libraries Every-time When Open It

Feb 18, 2012

My windows media player 12 updates the libraries every time I open it, its anoying. As I remember with previous versions my libraries would update the first time player would open, then I could add particular folders I needed and it would add them, and then it would add only the stuff that was missing. Basically with older versions when i opened the player all my files were already there, with wmp 12 every time i open it my libraries are EMPTY and i have to wait for it to upload all of my music, videos, pics etc which takes a couple of minutes. I tried messing with the options but no luck. Why does it renew libraries every time i open it and how can i fix this?

Set The Default Program To Open Media Files In Windows 7?

Jul 24, 2011

Does anyone know how do I set the default program to open media files in Windows 7On WinXP it was right click -> open with -> checkmark "set as default program for opening this type of file" -> double click program. I did the same thing on Windows 7 and it has absolutely no effect. I do NOT want to play music/movie files with Windows Media Player, yet every time I try to play any music file (.mp3, .wav, etc), it ALWAYS open with Win Media Player, even though I have clearly set the default program to open these files as something else... same thing applies to movies

It happens on 2 computers of mine, both running windows 7 and both home built with similar but different specs, The same is they both have Ati Radeon HD series cards although different generations, they both have amd cpu's one is a phenom II x4 @ 3ghz and the other is a athlon x2 5000x @ 2.6ghz, They are both running 64bit windows 7 ultimate, 1 is on a gigabyte board the athlon and the other is on a biostar board the phenom II, The gigabyte board is actually newer and can support 6core chips my biostar can't and has biggest cpu i can drop in it, the gigabyte pc will be getting upgraded to a 6 core chip most likely when i get the cash

How To Make Windows Media Player Stop Updating Media Every Freaking Time Start It Up

Dec 22, 2010

How can I make Windows Media Player stop updating media every freaking time I start it up? It always hogs up massive amount of CPU power and goes into (Not Responding) for a min while updating.I only add media files to the Windows Explorer Library so I can get indexed searches. I don't even use WMP to view files or anything. Just to burn some music CDs sometimes.I've tried deleting the files from the WMP library but the next time I open it up, it scans and updates all my files again! Is there a way to completely purge the WMP library and make it not update ever? I've unchecked every option that seems to make it scan and update but it still does it.Basically I want to UNLINK the Windows Explorer Library from the WMP Library.
