Cannot Open Windows Media Player Or Internet Explorer

I an unable to open windows media player or internet explorer, when I open internet explorer it looks like its about to load up my homepage but I get nothing but a blank page. Also when I tried to open skydrive that wouldn't work either. I tried to open windows media player today and that wouldn't open either. I can use firefox that works ok and vlc player but anything to do with windows will not work. The only thing new i put on my laptop was zune for my new Samsung Omina 7 phone. However internet explorer was not working prior to this.

I wanted to ask if it is possible to set Windows media player to open as the default player inside media center.The reason that I ask this is that I find media center sound is very low quality. I am using it inside windows 7 ultimate X64. I also use Media Browser and have set it to use media player as an external player but it loses some functionality after something is played I have to restart media center and media Browser to play anything again because it will go back to menus but not play anything untill

My default is WMP for playing CD's and DVD's. I have a Toshiba NB 305 netbook, Windows 7. I copied a DVD from a friends LG Portable Super Multi drive (her computer is XP - in case this might be important?)to my external HD. Something from my Norton popped up earlier regarding GEAR software, but I did not understand it and so dismissed it, at the advice of a friend...I am not so computer savvy. Since then I cannot even access my Windows Media Player.

Unable to open windows media player. When attempting to open windows media player 12 from the programs menu, I receive the following errormessage:"C:\WindowsSystem32wmploc.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."The above message is followed by the following message:"Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled. However, if I locate the windows media player folder, I can open the program directly from there without any problem whatsoever. yesterday i made a clean installation of windows 7 in my notebook but i'm not able to play any video file in wmp 12 . i can play the mp3s though it worked fine before i reinstalled the OS whenever i try to open a video file it says wmp has stopped working and gets closed
I've tried reinstalling the player, i've repaired it using Fix WMP , i've cleaned up the registries using ccleaner but no luck yet..

My windows media player 12 updates the libraries every time I open it, its anoying. As I remember with previous versions my libraries would update the first time player would open, then I could add particular folders I needed and it would add them, and then it would add only the stuff that was missing. Basically with older versions when i opened the player all my files were already there, with wmp 12 every time i open it my libraries are EMPTY and i have to wait for it to upload all of my music, videos, pics etc which takes a couple of minutes. I tried messing with the options but no luck. Why does it renew libraries every time i open it and how can i fix this?

I have started using the RC after having used the offiial beta for only a week (it kept giving me BSODs and I was too lazy to figure out why).
With this build I have noticed one thing, and as I have looked through this forum for a while to see if anyone else had it, and didn't find anything, I will assume it is not a 'feature'. While playing xvid media (television shows from the US) with windows media player, I notice at random times that the image freezes (the sound continues). After a while (between 10 to 30 seconds) the image unfreezes and starts playing catchup. This can happen while I'm doing something else, but also when I'm not doing a thing, and only WMP is opened. I first thought it might be codec issue, so I installed a Windows 7 codec pack (though I usually hate these things). Unfortunately it hasn't solved my problem.
I've also noticed that it takes explorer about 20 to 50 seconds to start up. I don't know if that's strange, but it seems like a long time to me. Even if it's already open on a different folder, and I open another instance, it takes this long. Only if I browse within the already opened window does it not seem to lag.
The only thing I can think of is that it might have something to do with my virus scanner? I have ACG installed. I also have daemon tools running, even though it says that there might be compatibility issues.

I can't find a way to have Media Player 12 open in full screen every time I open a video, mp3, wmv or whatever. I don't want to mess with the registry. Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere? System is Windows 7, Home edition 64bit, 12GB ram, Intel i7 6-core 3.2GHz, 2TB hard drive, ATI Radeon HD5570 graphics.

have been setting up all the *.wma files on my music web site to stream as directed by *.wax files. everything was fine in XP Pro...but now I've gone over to Windows 7; & noticed that when I click on one of the *.wma's at my site...it doesn't stream...Windows 7 instead asks me if I want to open or save the file. no matter which option I choose...it treats it as a text file (opening the *.wax in 'Notepad')

I have windows 7 ultimate on my hp laptop. for a month now, I cannot open window media player. When I click to open wmp, it does not do anything. If I go to song and click play, it gives me server execution failed error. I cannot open internet explore 32bits. But, I can open internet explorer 64 bits.

Got the Windows 7 upgrade for my Alienware. Its the 64 bit upgrade, I elected the 64 bit Internet Explorer. I even swiched to FireFox. Some of my military training is done on line, which uses Adobe Flash player. I know 7 does not support Flash player. I can not open IE 9. No error messages are displayed to give me. I tried installing Google Chrome and, like IE 9, it will not open either. Currently, I can only get Firefox to open. I have scanned the laptop using ESET's online scanner, which found nothing. I also scanned with MSE with the same results. No infections of any form are found.

so i am running the windows 7 home permium 64bit and i am having quite the problem. none of my programs will open. it seems like the olny thing that will open is internent explorer, paint, actual folders, those kinds of things. nothing else will open such as itunes, malwarebytes to scan for anything, not even flashplayer will open to watch Internet. i've tried starting it in safe mode and still nothing will open. ive run a diagnostic test to see if it was the hardware and everthing checked out okay. i have even tried sfc /scannow command - system file checker and that came back negative. so i am out of ideas.

for some reason, all of my programs are opening in internet explorer. All of my desktop icons are, "The white sheet with blue "E" on it". when i open it, it goes in internet explorer 9 thingy where u download stuff. it asks me if i wanna open/save the program in a .INK file. What should i do? P.S. it only does this for desktop programs, i can go in program files x86, and still open them.

My IE9 suddenly stopped displaying the Home Page, unless I click on the "Home" icon.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, thinking some part of it had become corrupted, but I have the same problem. Not that I really need Internet Explorer.I have both Mozilla Firefox and Avant browsers that I use most of the time.IE9 does work. It just displays the error message "Internet Explorer is currently running without add-ons" when you start it. I have my Home Page set to Encrypted Google, which comes up after I click on the Home icon.

Everytime I try and open internet explorer it immediately crashes. I have read on some forums that it could be caused by an Add On, therefore I have tried running internet explorer from the sytem tools menu with No Add Ons, but it still does the same thing opens and immediately crashes. I have runn CCleaner hoping that perhaps a registry problem was the cause, but this did not resolve the issue either.
