I am getting an error message on a black screen saying my Windows 7 is not genuine?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'll try to explain as best I can. I have a custom built pc, running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, 8 GB RAM, Intel LGA 775 motherboard, Intel Xeon 2.4 Quad processor, 550 watt power supply and nvidia GeForce 9800 GT graphics card. I do audio recording, and use an external audio interface (novation x-station 49). My computer has ran flawlessly for the past year or so, now my 2 (22" Samsung) monitors go black after a few minutes. It started out once or twice a day, now it only takes about 5 minutes.
My first thought was the video card (because both monitors go black) which I'm still in the 5 year warrantee period, so I can get it replaced. Everything is normal, then I get a second of messed up screens, then it goes black. When the screens are messed up, they look like the one referring to bad video card ram in this link... I recently bought this used laptop, it came with Windows 7 64 bit installed, but no discs. I do have the original disc and activation code for Windows Vista 32 bit. I would like to keep this version of windows, actually I dont care but I dont want to have to reinstall all of my software. Is there some way for me to pay for an activation code from Microsoft without having to reinstall windows and everything?

Installed the RC with a key from a blog as I lost my first key when I downloaded it.
I keep getting an error saying "This computer is not running genuine Windows" in the control panel and I can't activate Windows 7.
I am not trying to pirate anything, I just want to test out the RC before I buy Windows 7. Have I done something wrong during the install process?
I am getting the 'This copy of win is not genuine' black screen again. I built my computer and bought win 7 home premium online from Microsoft. I received two disks in the mail and installed 64 bit version. I activated and was fine for a few months and got the black screen. This time, I added a usb drive to my comp. and got the black screen. I removed the usb device but the deed was done. I can't find the activation code so I can't activate on line. I have been through all the activation tutorials.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a computer that's 3-4 years old now and in the last couple of weeks has been giving me a popup alert saying 'This computer is not running genuine Windows' with and error # 0x8004fe21.I have called Microsoft telephone activations and was asked to run 'slui.exe 3' from the command prompt and re-enter the Windows product key (from the computer case), which I did and it successfully activated. I restarted and everything initially seemed fine, but now the message has returned. The MGADiag report (below) shows a number of 'File Mismatch' errors - but I'm not sure what to do about it.

Hi there, right now I have a non genuine version of Windows 7 Ultimate installed, I'm looking to replace it with a genuine copy of Windows 7 home premium. Could I do this with an upgrade disc or would I need to buy the whole OS? I'm trying to avoid paying 200$ to activate Ultimate.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using an Acer Aspire 5738G, which originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium. Later I got the free Windows 7 Home Premium update disc and never encountered any problem.
But since the last 1 month or so, I've been getting this 'Windows not genuine' message on a random basis. Microsoft Security Essentials says that it will disable itself within 30 days if the issue is not resolved. When I click on 'Resolve issue', an IE window is opened and takes me to Microsoft's website. When I do all the steps explained, everything goes back to normal and my Windows is again considered as genuine.
I know I am typing the password in right. Do not have caps on either and it is still not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy brother recently bought a Dell laptop (Inspiron N5110). He created a password for his user account, and when he went to login during his next session, the password didn't work. The 'Create Password' field had two entry boxes, so the probability of an error in the password is quite small. I have tried various password reset/recovery programs, but when I boot with the program, the user account is not displayed. Thus, I cannot reset or recover the password. Booting in Safe Mode has been tried, but it also requires input of the user's password. Booting to the last safe configuration doesn't help, as there is nothing (apparent) wrong with the actual system.

But the problem is still there.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay. I am new to computers, I just hated vista with such wrath that I printed out everything ever to computers and updated to windows 7.
I had vista 32 bits, and all my drivers were working correctly when I upgraded to windows 7 32 bits. But I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 64x because I found out my computer has additional RAM that wasn't being used by the 32x OS.
When I did this, I had to install some new drivers, which I figured out by putting in my ASUS driver cd and then from device manager I would search the ASUS driver cd for correct drives.
(The ASUS Driver CD wouldn't work, it would tell me my operating system (obviously) wasn't vista, so I had to use the driver folder in it manually)
So, I can connect to password-less wireless perfectly, like my neighbors, but my work's pass-worded network it says connected but I can't actually go use the internet. Same with when I plug in Ethernet, it will tell me I'm connected but no internet.
I read around the internet and it said it has something to do with drivers. I tried downloading 64x versions of my drivers but I had difficulty using and installing them,
Here are my Network cards:
Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) (Pretty sure bluetooth doesnt relate to my internet but whatever)
Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)
