Replace Non Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate With Genuine
Jun 13, 2011
Hi there, right now I have a non genuine version of Windows 7 Ultimate installed, I'm looking to replace it with a genuine copy of Windows 7 home premium. Could I do this with an upgrade disc or would I need to buy the whole OS? I'm trying to avoid paying 200$ to activate Ultimate.
I have an ASUS notebook (U31F i5 with 4 GB mem) which until recently I used only occasionally. It has Legit Office 2010, but no CD/DVD drive. My desktop hard disk crashed in a big way so I am using the notebook as my main computer. It has just recently started throwing up messages that my Windows Homw Premium (x64) is not genuine. It is gebuine OEM and activated (back when I got the notebook), and I have not tampered in any way.

Recently a note has appeared on bottom right of screen on my laptop which says-This copy of windows is not genuine. I know for a fact it is genuine as i only purchased it 0n the 3rd December 2010. I have not had any problems with it until the note appeared on my laptop last week.
I am using an Acer Aspire 5738G, which originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium. Later I got the free Windows 7 Home Premium update disc and never encountered any problem.
But since the last 1 month or so, I've been getting this 'Windows not genuine' message on a random basis. Microsoft Security Essentials says that it will disable itself within 30 days if the issue is not resolved. When I click on 'Resolve issue', an IE window is opened and takes me to Microsoft's website. When I do all the steps explained, everything goes back to normal and my Windows is again considered as genuine.
I bought my computer in China with Windows 7 home basic OS and it was in Chinese, the sales advisor told me that I could get a friend to give me Windows 7 English OS, so I bought the computer. A friend of mine had windows 7 ultimate OS and he gave it to me, I didn't no about the one computer rule so I though it was OK, after about three months of using it, it started displaying the "not genuine' warningNow I want to buy genuine windows 7 ultimate and this is wI don't have the windows 7 home basic software but I have the the licence key, can I just buy the windows 7 ultimate upgrade pack? An advisor at Microsoft told me that there is away they can go around that, without me having the windows 7 home basic software.
My sister's computer has been running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 for more than two years. We obtained the copy from Amazon. The copy we have appears in a genuine box, with COA with interwoven holographic strip, and holographic cds. We went away camping for a week, turned on the computer on return, and the screen went black when the computer did the update check. Error code is 0xC004F200, and optional update delivery no longer works. There is an error code down the right corner, notification that build 7601, windows no longer genuine, etc.
This copy was only ever used once, and on this machine, and obtained for this machine. It has never been installed on anything else. We checked the product key via computer properties, and it said that the product key suddenly no longer matched the product key on the box/cds. On trying to change it, a dialog box came up and said that the product key has been blacklisted. We researched this, and the net said to contact microsoft.
BTW, we ran the diagnostic tool as admin. Code: Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0): Windows Validation Data--> Validation Code: 50 Cached Online Validation Code: 0xc004c4a2 [Code] .....
Win 7 came installed on laptop. Started having error msg that Windows was not genuine. However, there is no link to activate Windows in computer properties. Using SLUI 3 command brings up dialog to activate Windows, but receive error "0x80070424 specified service does not exist as an installer service" once it tries to validate. Tried activating after setting selective startup to disable unnecessary startup files with no success. Cannot copy MGAdiag log. Get message hr=0x80070002.
I searched around but was unable to find a solution for my problem. I'll start from the beginning on how this all happened.
I have a dual boot system with XP/7. I resized the partitions using Gparted and after that I got an error where 7 would not load (0xC0000225). I managed to fix this by using my Windows 7 disk to recover the boot loader. However that brings me to my current issue.
I can boot to Windows 7, but after I log on it says "preparing your desktop", and after waiting longer than usual it brings me to a blue screen that says "Windows 7; Build 7600; This copy of Windows is not genuine" in the lower left corner. It does nothing from this point, it just hangs on this screen without loading the start bar or anything.
I can still access the task manager if I Ctrl, alt, del but cannot solve this genuine error. Back when I was a tech and dealt with XP errors of this nature, it would bring up an option to used a limited mode and from there you could activate it, but I'm getting nothing. Anybody have any suggestions here?
i installed windows 7 on a partition on my hard drive so i could dual boot xp and windows 7 just in case i didn't like windows 7 this partition was made usingEASEUS PARTITION MASTER (if it really matters)everything was fine i resized the partition from 20gb to 40gbafter doing so i restarted my pc to boot into windows 7...everything went fine until i logged into my account to be met by and ugly blue colored background that said "this copy of windows is not genuine" and i also now had no task bar or start button.so i opened up task manger clicked "new task" typed in "explorer.exe" and my task bar popped up in the original gray windows 95 theme i tried to click my computer but was met by an error that said "No such interface supported" i tried clicking everything in sight to only be met by the annoying error sound and statement quoted aboveso i then decided to browse using task manager (which actually worked) and that is when i noticed that the drive letter in which windows 7 ultimate is installed on was now "D:" instead of the original "F:" i tried to open regedit/regedt32 a 1000 times to try an change the drive letter through there but is just wont open i just get an error like the one stated abov
have a copy form former work, not it tells me every 5 min that it is not a genuine copy. lost desktop icons, and interrupts online game play. is their a way around this. it was paid for by the company, they have folded, and can not get the product # from them?
I have a XPS 8300 pc and took out the HDD and placed into my custom built PC. Now i have a problem with my windows saying that its not genuine. I'm not sure why that is.When i try to Activate windows with the product key it gives a couple of options , buy a new key, put a new one in, contact dell.I tried using a different key from another windows 7 that i have and that didn't work ether
I built my computer about 6 months ago and bought windows 7 from my university. It activated fine and has worked well up until a few weeks ago. Windows started to give me warnings that it may not be genuine, my background went black, etc.I was going to reinstall ("upgrade" ) windows 7so I first uninstalled service pack 1. After doing this windows no longer gave me these warnings and everything went back to normal. I reinstalled spc 1 just to see what would happen and it started giving me the warnings againoes anyone have any idea of what is going on? Should I just upgrade/do a new install? Is it better to do one or the other?
I built this computer about a year ago and installed a legit upgrade copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (installed a friend's copy of Windows 7 just to get through the upgrade process). I've had no problems with the OS until a few days ago when I noticed one of my USB devices turned off (a PS3 controller configured with MotionJoy). Then I noticed Windows came up with several notices claiming it wasn't genuine. It was displayed in popups and in the bottom right-hand corner of my desktop.
Apparently, Microsoft Security Essentials triggered it. This wasn't the first time I've had to deal with a validation issue in a Windows PC. I usually just had to run the validation tool and be done with it. However, when I ran the tool this time, it simply took me to a screen where I could buy a new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (or a new activation key?) to resolve missing security files. Obviously I'm not going to do that, but I'm running out of options other than perhaps running the Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade installer again and hoping that it returns Windows to default.
As it stands, I've tried reactivating, but it gives me an error message. I've tried running Windows Update because it seems that it stopped updating on the 21st, and that's when the latest security pack was installed. However, I get a code C0000022 error whenever I try to update. Should I just redo my upgrade installation or is there some other way to fix this?
What I think to have caused the problem is in this previous threadnyway, after doing that last fix and booting the computer the next day, I got an error saying I may be a victim of software counterfitting, followed by a black wallpaper with a not genuine message at the bottom right. I need to get it working again so I can get updates, and I've lost my Windows 7 Home Premium key which makes this all the more difficult to fix with normal tech support from Microsoft
Every time i start my computer a black screen appears and it says your copy of windows 7 is not genuine. I can't do anything on this screen. I tried setting my computer to boot from DVD and re install windows 7 but when i do this is just ignores my windows 7 disc and goes straight to the black screen with your copy of windows 7 is not genuine. I even tried booting from a flash drive and it still wouldn't work.

I built this PC myself. It was built around 5 months ago. I installed Windows 7, and it said it was perfectly genuine and everything. I bought this on eBay from a person with 99% Positive feedback and with 2300 stars, so I'm sure it isn't pirated. Now randomly I have a black wallpaper and in the bottom right corner it says Windows 7, Build 7601, This copy of Windows is not genuine. I've scanned the computer fully for viruses with AVG and Malware with Malwarebytes, and found no problems. [code]
I had a pretty bad case of the flu on this machine, horrid virus... I don't really know how I got it, I was only looking for computer equipment online when the payloads dropped. One of the sites I was at looking for a NAS device seemed a little fishy, then locked up the machine, then wham- lost aero, all non-system files on the entire drive was given the attrib +H flag, couldn't do squat b/c all resources were being taken up, etc, etc and McAfee didn't even squeak. I think the viruses must have messed with some system files, although I can't for the life of me figure it out. I did drop UAC down to nothing earlier in the day to install some unrelated (required) software: NI Labview; and a personal application (Line6 Gearbox) but that's really not pertinent. I've dealt with this kind of thing before but am really befuddled. I've got the virus pretty much wiped out/contained I think, but my remaining problem is that I cannot get genuine again. I'm a contractor, this is a company computer, and I don't need the added spotlight this will bring.... is there any way to fix this without a domain admin's help?
I purchased a Dell desktop a few months ago which came with DOS.The store installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit for RS 9000(about $170).But for the past few days it is displaying the above message with an error code 0x8004fe22.
I built my first custom PC about 4 months ago. I bought windows 7 ultimate off Ebay, installed it, entered my product key, installed Microsoft Security Essentials and everything worked fine. At the time it said my copy of windows 7 was genuine. Now 4 months latter my computer randomly pops up with a message telling me my copy is no longer genuine. Microsoft Security Essentials is no longer running, my desktop background has turned black and in the bottom right hand corner of my screen there is a message saying
-"Windows 7 -Build 7600 -This Copy of Windows is not genuine"
As far as I can tell my copy of Windows 7 is genuine. It came with a sealed COA, a proof of License label and holographic discs.
I have a compaq presario v2000. For the most part, my laptop screen says nothing like 'windows is non genuine', but there are some times when it does. The funny thing is , when I go to start, right click 'computer', click properties and see the computer information screen, the bottom part of that screen eventually says windows is activated, and after that the 'windows is not genuine message on the desktop goes away to reappear at a later date, maybe two or three days later
Having discovered that my copy of Windows 7 (Ultimate) is not genuine, I am in the process of purchasing the software from Amazon. When I have the new software do I need to reinstall Windows onto a clean disc, or is it sufficient to enter the key from the new package onto the already installed but non-genuine version?
I updated my mom's computer & it was doing ok until she shut down the computer while it was updating. Now it have all types of errors. How can I fix this?
I recently had to do a clean installation of Windows 7 ultimate 64 as a result of an unknown problem i had, I Formatted my Hard drive & reinstalled windows only to have a message pop up asking me to enter my product key again, & as i have it then tells me my copy of windows is not genuine (which it is).
