I had a pretty bad case of the flu on this machine, horrid virus... I don't really know how I got it, I was only looking for computer equipment online when the payloads dropped. One of the sites I was at looking for a NAS device seemed a little fishy, then locked up the machine, then wham- lost aero, all non-system files on the entire drive was given the attrib +H flag, couldn't do squat b/c all resources were being taken up, etc, etc and McAfee didn't even squeak. I think the viruses must have messed with some system files, although I can't for the life of me figure it out. I did drop UAC down to nothing earlier in the day to install some unrelated (required) software: NI Labview; and a personal application (Line6 Gearbox) but that's really not pertinent. I've dealt with this kind of thing before but am really befuddled. I've got the virus pretty much wiped out/contained I think, but my remaining problem is that I cannot get genuine again. I'm a contractor, this is a company computer, and I don't need the added spotlight this will bring.... is there any way to fix this without a domain admin's help?
I have an ASUS notebook (U31F i5 with 4 GB mem) which until recently I used only occasionally. It has Legit Office 2010, but no CD/DVD drive. My desktop hard disk crashed in a big way so I am using the notebook as my main computer. It has just recently started throwing up messages that my Windows Homw Premium (x64) is not genuine. It is gebuine OEM and activated (back when I got the notebook), and I have not tampered in any way.

Hi there, right now I have a non genuine version of Windows 7 Ultimate installed, I'm looking to replace it with a genuine copy of Windows 7 home premium. Could I do this with an upgrade disc or would I need to buy the whole OS? I'm trying to avoid paying 200$ to activate Ultimate.
Recently a note has appeared on bottom right of screen on my laptop which says-This copy of windows is not genuine. I know for a fact it is genuine as i only purchased it 0n the 3rd December 2010. I have not had any problems with it until the note appeared on my laptop last week.
I am using an Acer Aspire 5738G, which originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium. Later I got the free Windows 7 Home Premium update disc and never encountered any problem.
But since the last 1 month or so, I've been getting this 'Windows not genuine' message on a random basis. Microsoft Security Essentials says that it will disable itself within 30 days if the issue is not resolved. When I click on 'Resolve issue', an IE window is opened and takes me to Microsoft's website. When I do all the steps explained, everything goes back to normal and my Windows is again considered as genuine.
I have new Toshiba Satallite Pro L670 EZ-1711 running Windows 7 Pro. I have purchased a Windows 7 Enterprise upgrade which I burned to a DVD. Every time I try to boot from the DVD it fails. I use Windows 7 USB DVD Tool to burn the iso file to the DVD. While burning it said that it was a bootable DVD. How do I perform this upgrade?
I attached 2 dumps, I get BSOD's almost daily Running Windows 7 EnterpriseThe computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x00000000000000000x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 110812-20451-01.

Basically I am taking over the imaging process where I work. I will to start configuring our application to create universal images.
The first thing I would like to know is, I created a bootable (tested and used) Windows 7 64bit Enterprise USB flash drive. I would like to make this universal so when a new machine comes in I can either add new drivers if need and install from the USB.
Currently I have to install the drivers after the installation of windows has completed. Which folder in can I add the drivers into? I am thinking of creating sub folders for each model and another subfolder for the type of driver ie. video, nic etc I also created an autounattended.xml file and it always halts at the create partition wizard. If I manually install windows, windows 7 will create a second partition that is 100mb. I read in forums where most people only create 1 partition. Does it matter how many my autounattened file will create?
I have on little bit trouble to reactive the Windows 7 Enterprise. I have a computer that is to be decommissioned here at the office, which is to say that it will no longer be used for work. The computer is to be given to a local school. The problem now is that it has been running Windows 7 Enterprise, and the license will expire in a few months. According to this site, [URL], Enterprise can be downgraded into Professional. However I can't seem to find a way to do this. Is this a free service, or do I have to purchase the license again? Customers licensed for use of Windows 7 Enterprise are generally licensed for Windows 7 Professional, which can be downgraded to Windows Vista Business, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows NT 4.0, Windows NT 3.51, Windows 98, or Windows 95 operating system. You would not, however, be able to downgrade to Windows 7 Home Basic or Windows 7 Home Premium, or other consumer (Full Packaged Product - FPP) versions of Windows as they are different product editions and not prior versions of Windows 7 Professional.I have a legitimate Win 7-Ultimate license on my own computer, but I do not have the install CD for it (at the moment).
I am having slow start up problems with Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. It worked fine when it was first installed a few years ago, but has gotten progressively slower.ave cleaned registry, new drivers, checked background, etc. etc. Tried Windows start up repairer several times.
I am using Win 7/64 Pro and need to upgrade to Enterprise. The MSFT sites are extreemly slow downloading the trial version. Finally downloaded a Image file but it states that it is missing files on installation. Tries many times to download the trial from MSFT but at their upload rate it would take a month to get it. Any suggestions on a alternet site to get the Trial or a actual disk image that works? I have the activation code for 10 machines and I need to get three of them up ASAP.
can you dual boot Windows 7 starter & Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit on the same netbook, ( my kids netbook has Windows 7 starter on which I want to keep. )
I do not own a fax mechine in my home.I have written a document and filled in a PDF form and saved in my computer.I have written my document in the Office Enterprise 2007-Word on my desktop that has Win 7 Ultimate x64 OS.Is ther a free software that I could use to fax my document using my broadband connection directly from my computer to a destination that request my document & the PDF form?
I had some problems with some kind of trojan that disabled System Security. I found a tool, fixed this and now everything runs perfectly and 'safe' but now I have a Red X On Network Icon but it's working properly.
I received a laptop from my work which is currently running Windows 7 enterprise. Unfortunately, our administrator is a bit on the overzealous side about what to-and what not to block, and the whole "I will watch you through the built in webcam" shenanigans, I'd like to dual-boot the enterprise OS with my own Windows 7 home premium. Is this possible?
I am trying to completely wipe my system and reinstall windows, only I don't have the CD. I've looked it up, and it seems relatively straight forward, I just need to save the iso file for the version of windows I'm using to a flash drive and run that to reinstall. The problem is I am running (and only have a key for) Windows 7 enterprise (Version 6.1 Build 7600) 32 bit, and the only downloadable iso file I can find for the enterprise version is the 90 day trial. I don't want the trial though, I want the entire version. where I can find an iso file for enterprise that's the full version, not trial? Or am I supposed to download the trial and put my key in somehow making it a full version?
edit: I should add that I want to reformat the computer (I don't have anything I want to save, want to put it back to factory standards), not just reinstall windows.
Is it possible to create a WevDAV server in my windows 7 Enterprise SP1, using IIS 7.5? I have several devices (including iPAd with iOS 5) which need a WebDAV to interchange or save files in a (home) "cloud disk".
my new windows install has suddenly started to take several minutes to shutdown. I only had a few programs installed when this started. I un-installed each program and did a registry clean to see if any of them was causing the issue, but nothing helped. All that are now installed are the motherboard drivers and such.
This is a list of what is still installed:
Etron USB3.0 Controler Intel Control Center Intel HD Graphics Driver Intel Management Engine Intel Rapid Storage Realtek Ethernet Realtek Audio Driver
I have gone through some things to try to determine what is causing the issue, but have had no success. I checked the shutdown performance logs, and there were allot of warnings. These just seemed to give the shutdown time, but no indication of what was causing the delay. This issue did not exist when I first installed. The computer has no internet connection at the moment, so I have not done windows update or anything like that. There is no possibility of their being a virus for the same reason. Before uninstalling the apps, I tried msconfig with selective startup (all boxes unchecked), and diagnostic startup and neither reduces the shutdown time.
